Chicago beats Wild in OT 09 Feb 17

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks have inched a little closer to the NHL’s Western Conference lead by beating the first-place team in overtime.

Jonathan Toews (tayz) scored a power-play goal 3:09 into the extra session to complete the Hawks’ 4-3 win over the Wild at Minnesota. Toews also set up goals by Nick Schmaltz and Richard Panik before ending Chicago’s eight-game regular-season losing streak against the Wild.

Ryan Hartman also tallied to support Corey Crawford’s 35-save effort.

Minnesota escaped with a point following Erik Haula’s goal with 3:03 left in regulation, but the Blackhawks climbed within five points of the Wild.
