A Gibbon man has been charged with felony assault and property damage as well as misdemeanors for reckless driving, hit-and-run and disorderly conduct.
Thirty-four-year-old Nathan Lee Helget admitted to Authorities that he rammed another vehicle with his pickup multiple times because he thought he was being stalked. According to the criminal complaint, the victim turned onto the Fort Road near New Ulm and Helget allegedly threw something at him and then rammed him from behind. Helget than drove in the wrong lane parallel to the victim and rammed into him two more times. When the victim stopped, Helget reportedly tried to open the door of the victim’s car. When it wouldn’t open, he punched the car and screamed at the victim for driving away.
A witness to the altercation called 911.
