Charges Filed Against Grove City Man Following Murder-suicide 28 Feb 17

The father of a teen who killed his sister and then himself near Mannanah last year is now facing criminal charges.

The West Central Tribune reports 52-year-old John Cunningham has been charged with felony child neglect and misdemeanor obstruction.

Court records say when Cunningham discovered his 17-year-old son David and 15-year-old daughter Jessica dead in their home in northern Meeker County on February 29th 2016, he first disposed of marijuana and growing marijuana plants before calling 911. Charges were filed in Meeker County District Court last week, and Cunningham is free without bail.

His next court appearance is set for March 14th.

It’s believed David shot his sister and the family dog before turning the gun on himself. Several guns and boxes of ammunition were found in the home.
