(Renville, MN) On Wednesday afternoon, just after 4, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a one vehicle accident near the intersection of County Road 6 and County Road 15 in Flora Township, which is about 8 miles south of Renville
Responders located a Chevrolet Blazer that was driven by 53-year-old Douglas Olson of Sacred Heart.
Authorities say it appeared Olson failed to negotiate the slight curve on County Road 6 and entered the ditch. The vehicle continued in the ditch and eventually vaulted over County Road 15 causing the vehicle to roll over several times coming to a stop on its wheels.
Olson was taken to Renville County Hospital for treatment of what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Three dogs riding with Olson escaped without injury.
The crash remains under investigation but it is believed that Olson was not wearing a seatbelt.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Renville Ambulance as well as two people who stopped after witnessing the crash.
