Accused Kidnapper Appears in Court 14 Mar 17

(Willmar MN-) 38-year-old Cesar Garcia-Gonzalez of Cosmos made his initial appearance on kidnapping and other charges in Kandiyohi County District Court in Willmar yesterday (Monday).

KWLM reports through his attorney Erica Allex, Garcia-Gonzalez asked Judge Michael Thompson for a hearing to sort through a variety of legal issues, and it was set for April 10th at 1:30 p.m. He remains jailed on $100,000 unconditional bail.

Court records say Garcia-Gonzalez stalked his estranged wife at the Safe Avenues Women’s Shelter in Willmar and at her place of employment at a Willmar nursing home, and on the morning of March 1st, drove up to her and confronted her when she was leaving work. He allegedly then hit her with the vehicle, put her inside and drove off.

He was later arrested near Hutchinson.

The victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Garcia-Gonzalez is charged with two counts of kidnapping, 2nd degree assault, threat of aggravated violence, stalking, interruping an emergency call, and two counts of domestic assault.
