(Grove City MN-) The father of a teen who shot and killed his sister and himself at a home near Mannanah made his initial appearance on a handful of charges in Meeker County District Court Tuesday.
KWLM reports 52-year-old John Cunningham of Grove City is charged with removing the serial number on a firearm, child neglect or endangerment and Fifth Degree drug possession, all felonies, as well as gross misdmeanor negligent storage of a firearm and misdemeanor Obstruction of the Legal Process.
Cunningham’s 17-year-old son David shot and killed his 15-year-old sister Jessica and then killed himself in February 2016.
John Cunningham is accused of disposing of both packaged and growing marijuana in the house before calling 911. There were also reportedly several firearms around the house.
In court Tuesday, Cunningham asked Judge Michael Thompson for an omnibus hearing, which was set for May 31st, and he was released without bail.
