Update: Search Continues for Missing Teen in Crow River 06 Jun 17

HOWARD LAKE, Minn. – The search resumes Tuesday morning for a teen feared drowned in the North Fork Crow River near Howard Lake.

Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty says the 18-year-old was swimming with another person near the Keats Avenue Bridge in Middleville Township just before 7 p.m. Monday when he went under the water and did not resurface.

The victim’s companion immediately called 911. Search crews were on the scene looking for the missing teen until 9;30 p.m. when the search was called off due to darkness.

Authorities are withholding the name of the missing swimmer until all family and friends are notified, but witnesses tell KARE 11 that the victim and the person he was with are brothers. They say young people are always jumping off the bridge, and that the water there is extremely fast-moving and dangerous.
