KDUZ/KARP/KGLB is proud to present the All Area Softball Team for 2017.  Players were nominated by their coaches and then voted on by a panel of sportscasters at the radio stations.  Here are this year’s honorees:

All Area Softball 2017-

 

Infielders-

Emily Utecht, Kimball, Senior, 1B/P-Offensive MVP, All Conference, Hard Working Player, hit .444, 4 HR, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 26 RBI, 24 Runs Scored, .506 OBP, in the circle had an 8-1 record, 1 save, 75 K, 0.97 ERA.

 

Katherine Spaulding, Kimball, Junior, C-All Conference, wall behind the plate, hit .365, 5 HR, 4 doubles 23 RBI, 25 runs scored, .415 OBP

 

Mackenzie Leither, Kimball, Junior, 3B-All Confernece, Captain, Leader by example, 3 year player, hit .479, 7 HR, 2 Triples, 7 Doubles, 33 RBI, 29 Runs Scored, .537 OBP

 

Emilie Anderson, WM, Senior, SS-Defensive POY for team, Captain, .393 Avg, .514 OBP, 16 runs scored, 4 year player, Team Leader, ability to slap ball well, playing for Crown College next season.

 

Allie Fauth, Hutchinson, Senior, SS-All Star Series Player, nominated All State, All Conference, All State Academic, hit. 446, 8 doubles, 4 triples, 3 HR, 23 RBI, 12 stolen bases, 23 runs scored, heart and soul of the team, great leader.

 

Elsa Skeie, BOLD, Senior, C-hit .526, 35 RBI, 16 runs, 4 HR, 9 doubles, .581 OBP, All Conference, All State Academic, All Star Series Player, 5 year player, All State, great leader,

 

Sophie Flucas, Mayer Lutheran, Senior, 3B-.365 avg, 3 HR, 7 doubles, 29 RBI, 18 runs scored, .911 fielding, solid player, threat to drive in runs.

 

Hope Feltmann, LP/HT, Senior, C-4x All Conf, 1x All State, hit .564, 5 HR, 36 RBI, 9 doubles, Captain, 4 year player, broke all but one school offensive record.

 

CJ Decker, HLWW, Freshman, C-2x All Conf, .543 average, led metro area in RBI with 38, 2 HR, 16 doubles, 2 triples, Leader on the field, good at calling games.

 

Jasmin Estrada, Litchfield, Junior, SS-3x All Conf, 2x All State HM, hit .484, 8 HR, 27 RBI, 6 doubles, 2 triples, 19 runs, Hard worker that can turn the game around with one swing, 22 career HR’s.

 

Outfielders-
Sadie Erickson, NYA, Sophomore-Teams MVP, Pitches and plays the field, hit .537, 7 HR, 2 doubles, 3 triples, 22 RBI, .584 OBP, 26 runs scored, improving player, went 8-1 in the circle with a 1.25 ERA and opponents batting average of .134.

 

Emma Duske, WM, Senior-All Conf, Team MVP, Captain, .386 avg, .419 OBP, 3 doubles, 1 HR, 20 runs scored, 22 stolen bases, 4 year starter, ability to play 5 postions on field including all three OF positions, playing for SCSU next year.

 

AJ Thompson, HLWW, Senior-All Conf, All State, .590 average, 31 stolen bases, 33 runs scored, 1.000 Fielding percentage, good slapper with amazing speed, one of the best CF’s around.

 

Rylie Wilner, ACGC, Junior-Team MVP, All Conference, .565 avg, .589 OBP, 13 doubles, 1 triple, 5 HR, 33 RBI, .956 Fielding, outstanding athlete, able to make catches in the gap, high SB IQ, good arm to throw runners out, set 5 season school records this year and 2 Career Records.

 

Brittney Manthey, Annandale, Senior-hit .511, lightnight fast speed, 36 stolen bases, All Conference

 

Pitchers-

Katie Merchant, Kimball, Junior-All Conference, dominating power pitcher who keeps batters guessing, 9-2 record with 1 save, 110 K, 0.66 ERA, hit .353 at the plate with 14 RBI.

 

Martina Saulsbury, Mayer Lutheran, Junior-All Conference, 15-7 record, 1.88 ERA, 133 K’s, opponents avg .208, hit .418 at the plate, 2 HR, 7 doubles, 23 RBI, 26 runs scored.

 

Taylor Trettin, LP/HT, Senior-3x All Conference, 9-3 record, 2.70 ERA, 81 K’s, hit .464 at the plate, 2 HR, 25 RBI, Captain, good teammate, a player others look up to.

 

Sarah Johnson, Annandale, Junior-20-3 record, 315 K’s, 18 walks, 0.56 ERA, All State Team, All Conference
