National Group Helping Stearns Co. Mink Farm 21 Jul 17

(Learfield News Service/Eden Valley, MN)  A national organization is helping a Stearns County farm after vandals released nearly 40-thousand mink earlier this week.

Michael Whelan with Fur Commission USA says they’ve been working with other area ranchers to rescue the mink. He says, “They know how to capture them safely without injuring the animals. They also know, once the animals are returned to their pens, they have to be separated out, because if the wrong animal is put in a pen with another animal, they will fight to the death.”

Fur Commission USA is offering a 10-thousand-dollar reward for anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction of those responsible for releasing the mink.
