New Biodiesel Standard/Peterson Listening Session at FarmFest 04 Aug 17

(Learfield News Service/Redwood Falls, MN) — Minnesota biodiesel standards will double to 20 percent at gas stations next May.

State commissioners announced the change at Farmfest in Redwood Falls yesterday (Thursday).

Commissioners say the move will help soybean farmers and reduce deadly emissions. Truckers and producers are concerned about supply and long waits at fueling stations.

–Disaster relief is not just a dry topic for some in Congress.

U.S. Representative Collin Peterson of Minnesota said yesterday (Thursday) that he thinks a new farm bill will include disaster provisions.

In a committee listening session at Farmfest, Peterson said the most important thing he learned was how important crop insurance is.

He also wants to include help for dairy farmers in the bill.
