Seven Twisters Hit Southern MN 18 Aug 17

(Learfield News Service/Chanhassen, MN)  There were seven tornadoes that touched down on Wednesday across portions of southern Minnesota.

The National Weather Service says two EF-0 twisters hit south of Nicollet while two of the same strength ran on the ground in Winthrop.

There were also E-F-0 tornadoes which touched down briefly in New Prague and Lester Prairie.

The strongest twister of the day was in Sibley County, causing damage to trees and out buildings in New Sweden. The E-F-1 tornado had winds over 100-miles-an-hour. Despite all of the funnel clouds on Wednesday, there were no injuries reported.
