Fire Destroys Rural Eden Valley Trailer House 28 Dec 17

Authorities say a homeowner attempting to thaw frozen water pipes is the cause of a fire that destroyed a rural Eden Valley residence.

At just after 5pm Wednesday, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a house fire in the 57700 340th Street in Manannah Township.

Authorities say the owner of the trailer, 56-year-old Edward Holmgren, was attempting to thaw frozen pipes when insulation caught fire.

There were no injuries, but the house is a total loss.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, Eden Valley Fire Department and Litchfield Fire Department responded to the fire.
