Update/Correction: Hutchinson Man Arrested/Charged for Stealing Car 06 Feb 18

A Hutchinson man was arrested Monday on probable cause motor vehicle theft and has now been charged in connection with the incident.

Thirty-three-year-old Ryan Warren Heilman has been charged with one count of Motor Vehicle Theft and one count of Driving After Cancellation.

Early Monday afternoon, an employee of Pro Auto on Jefferson Street saw a man entering several vehicles in their lot. The man, who was wearing a Pro Maintenance sweatshirt, told the employee that he had a disagreement with Pro Maintenance, not Pro Auto as previously reported, and was getting his property from his truck. At that time he was told to leave the lot.  Later, the Pro Auto employee noticed a 2011 Chrysler 200 was missing from their lot.

Police ultimately identified the suspect, located the stolen vehicle at Casey’s General Store on Highway 7 East, and located the suspect at the same location, at which time he was arrested and taken to the McLeod County Jail.
