New Ulm Man Pleads Guilty To Criminal Sexual Conduct 09 Feb 18

(KEYC/St. Peter, MN) A New Ulm man facing criminal sexual conduct charges has entered a guilty plea in Nicollet County.

The county attorney’s office says 57 year old Robert James Sorenson pleaded guilty to 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct, as well as a charge of invasion of privacy, and violating an order for protection.

The criminal sexual conduct charge is the most serious of the charges carrying a sentence of 90 to 108 months in prison.

The case started in February of 2017 when one of two victims came forward to police to report Sorenson had inappropriately touched and sexually abused her in 2013 when she was under the age of 16.

The plea agreement dismissed over a dozen other charges.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 19th.
