Legislators Decline Funding to Fix MNLARS 02 Mar 18

(Learfield News Service/St. Paul, MN) — Legislators aren’t going to provide a ten-million-dollar cash infusion for the troubled vehicle licensing system.

The House voted down a DFL motion to allocate money from the state’s Driver and Vehicle Services agency to the Minnesota Licensing and Registration System. Republicans pushed back, saying Governor Dayton should take the ten-million-dollars from his executive budget.

Nearly 40 workers making efforts to fix the licensing and registration system are facing layoffs at the end of the month because of a lack of funding.
