Waverly Man Died of Drug Overdose 22 Mar 18

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says an autopsy and toxicology report determined that 40-year-old Shawn Medley of Waverly died of a methamphetamine and mitragynine overdose.

Medley was found dead on February 11 in rural Ellsworth Township, though authorities believe he did not die where he was found. When Medley’s body was discovered, it was determined he had been dead for some time.

The circumstances surrounding Medley’s death are still unknown. Medley was reported missing Feb. 7 in Wright County. His vehicle was found abandoned in Litchfield on Feb. 10.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying anyone who was with Medley as well as his whereabouts from the early morning hours of Thursday, February 8 to Sunday, February 11. If you have any information, you’re asked to contact Meeker County Authorities.
