Marshall Man Injured in Rollover Crash 21 May 18

A Marshall man was trapped in a vehicle for several hours before being extricated Sunday morning by rescue personnel.

According to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were notified at 7:27 a.m. Sunday that a vehicle was on its roof in the ditch near the railroad crossing on County Road 9 in Sacred Heart.

Responders located a car on its roof, with 24-year-old Ian Mariner trapped inside.

Mariner was flown to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale for treatment of what authorities believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Mariner told law enforcement that he was driving the vehicle north on County Road 9 when a tire on the vehicle blew out causing him to lose control of the vehicle and crash into the rail at a high rate of speed, at which time the vehicle rolled into the ditch.
