Olivia Man Charged with Domestic Assault 07 Jun 18

(West Central Tribune/Olivia, MN) — Twenty-one-year-old Jose Acension Lopez of Olivia was arraigned Wednesday in Renville County District Court on three felony domestic assault-related charges.

The West Central Tribune reports Lopez pleaded not guilty to charges of domestic assault, terroristic threats, and domestic assault by strangulation.

Lopez, who was convicted in two separate domestic violence-related offenses in 2017, is being held in the Renville County Jail on $75,000 unconditional bail and $25,000 conditional bail.

The latest charges stem from an incident June 3 in Renville when Lopez allegedly assaulted a woman he is in a relationship with.

According to the complaint filed against him, Lopez allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck and strangled her while threatening to kill her.
