    1. Salad and Hotdish Luncheon
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Annandale is having their Garden Salad and Hotdish Luncheon on Wednesday, Aug 27th from 11a-1p.  Tickets at the door are $8 for adults, and $3 for children 10 and younger.  Take outs available.

    1. 150th Anniversary for Immanuel Lutheran Church
      2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

      Immanuel Lutheran Church of Hutchinson is hosting their 150th Anniversary Celebration on Aug 30 and 31st.  Events on Saturday include: Walking Cemetery Tour, Games, Music by the Detour Band, Lunch, and Devotions.  On Sunday come back for a special worship service, catered meal (advance ticket required), balloon release, and a festival worship service.

    1. Cosmos Breakfast Buffet
      9:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Cosmos Legion is hosting a breakfast buffet on Sunday, Aug 31st from 9a-Noon.  Free Will Donation gets you: French Toast, Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Hashbrowns and more!  Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase new American Flags.

    1. Turkey Supper
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      St. John’s Catholic Church of Hector is having their annual Turkey Supper on Wed., Sept. 3rd from 4-7 pm.  Take outs available.  Menu includes: Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes and gravy, corn, coleslaw, cranberries, bread, ice cream, and a beverage.  Cost is $9.50 for adults, $4 for children 4-10.

    1. GSL ECFE Open House
      9:00 am – 7:30 pm

      Glencoe-Silver Lake Public Schools is having their Early Childhood and Family Education Open House and Playground Grand Opening.  The event will be on Thursday, September 4 from 9-11:30 am and 5-7:30 pm at the GSL Early Childhood Learning Center in Glencoe.   You can register for fall ECFE classes, meet the staff, play in the classrooms and indoor motor area, visit the ECFE library, and check out their new outdoor playground.   There will also be snacks and a chance to win door prizes.

    2. Firearms Safety
      6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Gopher Campfire is hosting their Firearms Safety class on September 4, 8, 11, and 15th.  The class is open to anyone 12 years of age and older and runs from 6-9 pm each night.  You must attend all of the session to pass the class.  Cost is $15, class size is limited and registration is required.  For Q’s or to register call 587-3153

    3. Today’s Women of Hutchinson Meeting
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Today’s women of Huthinson will hold their next meeting on Thursday, Sept. 4th at the Hutchinson Public Library.  Meeting begins at 7 pm.

    1. Cruisin for a Cure
      9:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Cruisin for a Cure Motorcycle and Classic Car run will be Saturday, Sept, 6th.  Registration at 9 am, Wheels roll at 10:30 from Neisen’s Bar and Grill in Biscay.  Stops will be in Dassel, New Germany, and Stewart.  All money raised goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Q’s or Register contact Scott at 320-282-7817 or Steve at 320-583-3439

    2. Iron Run
      11:00 am – 5:00 pm

      The 3rd annual Antique Iron Run will be Saturday, Sept. 6th, leaving at 11 am from Kicker’s Bar and Grill in Litchfield.  No Registration, No Fee, just a Fun Run!  The Run is for Motorcycles from 1983 and older, but all bikes are welcome.  Prizes given for oldest bike, and furthest distance traveled.

    3. Plow Day
      11:00 am – 4:00 pm

      Hollywood’s 3rd annual Plow Day will be Saturday, Sept. 6th from 11-4 pm.  The event will be 2 miles Southwest of the Hollywood Sports Complex (16555 Utah Dr).  Free admission, food served by St. John’s Church of Hollywood.  Antique Tractor/Lawnmower/Horse Plows welcome.  

    4. Martin Benefit
      4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Cosmos Legion is hosting a benefit for Sue Martin on Saturday, Sept. 6th from 4-8 pm.  You can Enjoy a Spaghetti Dinner, Bid on the Silent Auction, shop at the bake sale, and enjoy entertainment.  Proceeds from the night go to Sue who’s battling Multiple Myeloma.  

    5. St. A’s Fall Festival
      4:30 pm – 4:00 pm

      St. Anastasia is having their Fall Festival on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 6/7) at their church.  On Saturday there is Mass at 4:30 pm, then an Outdoor Social at 5:30 pm with Food, Music, Country Store, Games and more!  On Sunday, a Polka Mass is at 10:30 am, Chicken Dinner from 11a-2 pm, and the Festival from 11a-4 pm.  Food, Entertainment, Raffles, Games, Auction, Stores, and more!

    1. Grace Lutheran Fall Festival
      8:45 am – 12:30 pm

      Grace Lutheran Church of Brownton is having their Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept. 7th.  A worship service starts things at 8:45 am, Pork Chop Dinner served from 10:30a-12:30p.  Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under (or $4 for a hot dog meal).  Also a part of the event is a basket raffle and a Country Store.

    2. St. Thomas More Fall Festival
      10:00 am – 1:00 pm

      The St. Thomas More Fall Festival and Raffle is coming up in Lake Lillian Sunday, Sept. 7.  Mass at 10 am, Ham Dinner served from 11a-1p.  Adults are $8, Children 12 and under are $4, and take outs are available.  Also stop by the bake sale, Garden Produce Sale, Raffle and more!

    3. Rueckert Fundraiser
      11:00 am – 6:00 pm

      The Healin’ ‘N Wheelin’ fundraiser for Nancy Rueckert of Litchfield is coming up on Sunday, Sept 7th at the Litchfield Civic Arena from 11a-6p.  Take part in the Bean Bag Tournament, Raffle, and Silent Auction.  Also at the event is a Kids Bounce House, Best Chili Contest, Taco Bar, Hot Dogs, Live Music and More!  Bring the Family!  This event will raise funds to be used toward a handicap accessible van for Nancy.

      The Brownton American Legion and Auxiliary will be meeting on Monday, Sept. 8th at the Brownton Community Center.  Meeting starts at 7:30 pm.

    1. Bras for a Cause
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Hutchinson Breast Cancer Support Group is again sponsoring the Bras for a Cause event.  Bring a Bra to decorate at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts on Sept. 9th from 7-8:30 pm.  You can then vote on your favorite bras from Sept. 9th-Oct 14th at the Center. Then on the 14th there will be a reception from 7-8 pm to announce the winners.  The event supports women with Breast Cancer.  

    2. Civil Air Patrol Open House
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Hutchinson Squadron of CIVIL AIR PATROL will be hosting an open house at squadron headquarters located at the Hutchinson Municipal Airport (Butler Field) on Tuesday, Sept. 9, starting at 7:00 P.M.  Senior members and cadets will welcome visitors (and prospective members) and introduce them to, and explain the Civil Air Patrol program.  Refreshments will be served.

    1. Cosmos Senior Dance
      1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

      The next Senior Dance at the Cosmos Legion will be Wednesday, Sept. 10th from 1:30-4:30 pm.  Music is by Jerry’s One Man Band.  

    2. Food for Kidz Packing Event
      4:30 pm – 6:00 pm

      The community is invited to a Food for Kidz packing event at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Hutchinson on Wed, Sept 10, from 4:30-5:30 pm.  A light supper will be provided starting at 5:30 pm. Come pack for an hour or as long as you want. Donations to offset the costs of the meals are welcome.

    3. Oktoberfest in September
      5:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      It’s Oktoberfest in September on Wednesday, Sept. 10th at the Brownton City park.  Food Served Starting at 5:30 pm.  Enjoy Brats and Kraut, German Potato Salad, Beer, Hot Dogs, and Dessert.  Music by George’s Concertina Band from 6-8 pm.

    1. Fiber Arts Guild presentation
      4:30 pm – 6:00 pm

      The Fiber Arts Guild invites you to a presentation on Fabric Design with Gudrun Erla of GEDesigns, Thursday, Sept. 11th at 4:30 pm at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts.  Members of the Guild are free, Guests are $5.  To reserve your spot call Sandy at 320-275-2732 or Carreen at 587-8692.  

    2. GSL ECFE Speaker
      6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      The GSL ECFE is hosting Speaker and 2011 Minnesota Teacher of the Year Katy Smith on Thursday, Sept. 11th from 6:30-8:30 pm at the GSL High School Auditorium.  Smith will be talking about Creative Discipline during this Parent Aware event.  There is a fee to attend and Certificates of attendance will be provided for continuing education clock hours.  Contact GSL Community Ed to register.  

    3. Blue Mass
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Knights of Columbus of Silver Lake will host their annual Blue Mass on Thursday, Sept. 11th at 7 pm at the Church of the Holy Family.  Ambulance, Fire and Rescue, Military and Auxiliary, and Police Personnel are invited to attend in uniform.  Refreshments are served following the mass.

    1. Glencoe VFW Pillow Cleaning
      7:00 am – 3:00 pm

      The Glencoe VFW is sponsoring a Pillow Cleaning on Friday, Sept. 12th from 7a-3p at the VFW Club in Glencoe.  Pillows are Cleaned, New Ticking, and Returned the same day.

    1. Guest Speaker at Oak Heights

      Oak Heights Covenant Church is hosting guest speaker Barb Anderson on Saturday, Sept. 13th at 9 am.  Barb is a former teacher, and activist and will speak on Biblical Citizenship.  

    2. 10 year Celebration
      4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Grace Community Church of Olivia is celebrating 10 years on Saturday, Sept. 13th.  Celebration starts at 4:30 pm, meal at 5 pm.  Enjoy Fun, Games, Food, and Music!

    1. Steeple Fest
      9:30 am – 1:30 pm

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Winthrop is having their Steeple Fest on Sunday, Sept. 14th.  Events start at 9:30 with a Polka Worship Service featuring the Nite Owls.  All you can eat Ham and Meatball Dinner will be from 11-1:30 pm.  Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for Children 4-10 yrs old, and under 3 is free.  There will be games for the kids, Bake and Garden Sale, and a Pie and Ice Cream Social.  

    2. NYA Relay for Life Fundraiser
      11:00 am – 2:00 pm

      The NYA Relay For Life is having a Pasta Dinner Fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 14th from 11a-2p at the Commons area of NYA Central High School.  Tickets are $10 for ages 6 and up in advance, and $5 for 5 and under.  Add $2 at the door.  On the menu is Chicken Alfredo or Marinara Meat Sauce, Ceasar Salad, Breadsticks, Dessert, and beverage.  Also enjoy music and the bake sale during the meal!
