    1. Plato Blood Drive

      The American Red Cross Blood Drive is coming to Plato on Thursday, Feb 25th from Noon-6pm at the Lighthouse Church.  For an appointment call Ken or Myra at 320-238-2370.

    1. New Auburn Fish Fry
      11:00 am – 8:00 pm

      The High Island Lake Conservation Club is holding their annual Fish Fry on Saturday, Feb 27th from 11a-8p at the New Auburn City Hall. Serving Fish, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, Beans, Beverage and all the Trimmings. Cost is $12 for adults, Children 6-10 are $6, and under 5 is free. Take our orders are available. Also you can take part in the raffle for a Pheasants Forever Print and 2 Bird Houses.

    2. Fundraiser for Minnesota Canine Search Rescue and Tracking
      6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Second Annual Fundraiser for Minnesota Canine Search Rescue and Tracking will be on Saturday, February 27, 2016, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at One Eyed Willy’s in Lester Prairie.  The event will feature a beer bust (wrist bands are $10.00.  Must be 21 or older with a valid ID), silent auction and bake sale, as well as entertainment by DJ Dr. Fun.  There will also be an appearance by their amazing bloodhound Bubba Bleu Moonshine (a.k.a. “Bleu) who is a nationally certified man tracking machine!  Everyone is welcome to attend.

    1. St. John’s Pancake Dinner
      10:30 am – 1:00 pm

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Plato invites you to their Pancake Dinner on Sunday, Feb 28th from 10:30a-1p. All you can eat Pancakes, Ham, Applesauce, Dessert, and a Beverage. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for ages 5-12, and 4 and under Free. Proceeds go to Heifer International at the Parochial Educational Fund.

    1. GSL ECFE Program
      6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The GSL ECFE is hosting a leap into spring family fun night on Monday, Feb 29th from 6-7 pm. Kids ages 1-Kindergarten entry and their families are welcome for stories, songs, activities and crafts. Tution is free, but they encourage you to donate old cell phones, ink cartridges, or box tops to support GSL Educational Programs.       11:00 am – 7:30 pm

      The NYA Knights of Columbus Fish Fry is Friday, March 4th at the Church of the Ascension in NYA from 11a-7:30p (or until the fish are gone). Serving Pollack, Au Gratin Potatoes, Baked Beans, Coleslaw, Beverage and Dessert. Adults are $11, Kids 6-12 are $5, and under 5 is free. Take outs available.  

    2. Brownton Fish Fry
      4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Brownton Lions have their Fish Fry on Friday, March 4th serving from 4-8 pm at the Brownton Community Center. Serving Fish, Potatoes, Beans, Coleslaw and more. Cost is $11 for adults, $5 for Grades K-6, take outs available. Proceeds go to Community Projects. 

    3. SL Fish Fry
      4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

      The Silver Lake Knights of Columbus are holding their annual Fish Fry on Friday, March 4th from 4:30-7:30 pm or until the fish are gone. The event is at the Silver Lake Auditorium and it’s all you can eat! Carry outs available, Raffles and Door Prizes given out. Cost is $10 in advance ($11 at the door), Children under 10 are $5 and under 4 is Free.

    4. HLWW Activities
      6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      The HLWW Middle School is hosting a couple events on Friday: Spring Carnival: 6:30-8 pm at the Activity Center. They’ll have lots of games, prizes and refreshments available. This fun family event is sponsored by HLWW Community Education and ECFE. Fingerprinting Your Children: 6:30-8 pm at the Activity Center. The Howard Lake Police Department will have officers available to fingerprint children during the Spring Carnival in the Activity Center of the Middle School. Parents can keep these fingerprint records in their personal files and the cost is free.

      7:00 am – 10:00 am

      Shady Lane Sportsmens Club will have a corn giveaway for wildlife and breakfast on Saturday, March 5 from 7am-10am at the club house.

    2. Juvenile Diabetes Fundraiser
      9:00 am – 2:00 pm

      The 6th annual Juvenile Diabetes Fundraiser will be Saturday, March 5th from 9a-2p at the Blue Note Ballroom in Winsted. Shop the Crafters and Vendors, Bid on the Silent Auction, Kids take part in the Carnival, Shop the Bake Sale, listen to Live music and more! All Money raised goes to JDRF.

      The Plato Lions Club is holding their annual Spring Brunch on Sunday, March 6th from 9a-Noon at the Plato Hall. All you can eat Pancakes, Sausages, Eggs, Toast and Beverage for a free will offereing. Proceeds go to Community Projects.  

    2. Zion Lutheran Pancake Breakfast
      9:00 am – 12:30 pm

      Zion Lutheran Church of Cologne is having their Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction on Sunday, March 6th from 9a-12:30p. Serving Pancakes, Sausages, Applesauce, and Beverage for $7, 5 and under are free. Silent Auction during the entire event, Live Auction at 11 am.

    3. Program with local adventurer Rudy Goldstein
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      The Mcleod County Historical Society present a program with local adventurer Rudy Goldstein on Sunday, March 6th at 2 pm. The program is a part of the Community Book Read of “Canoeing with the Cree”. Rudy has traveled the waterways talked about in the book and will talk about that topic. 

    4. Messiah in the Passover
      6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Hunters Ridge Community Church in Hutchinson presents the program the Messiah in the Passover on Sunday, March 6th at 6 pm. The program is designed to give participants a deeper understanding of both Passover and the Communion table. All are welcome.

      The Brownton Congregational Church will hold their Community Dinner on Wednesday, March 9th from 5-7 pm with a free will offering. The Dinner is hosted the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

      The next Spaghetti Supper from the Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary will be Thursday, March 10 at the Elk’s Lodge in Hutchinson. Serving from 4-7 pm, Adults are $8, Children under 10 are $3, take outs available.

    2. Sausage Supper Fundraiser
      4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Silver Lake Lions Club is having a Sausage Supper fundraiser for the Silver Lake Fire Department and Ambulance Services on Thursday, March 10th  from 4:30 – 7:00 in the Silver Lake Auditorium.

      Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson is serving their Fish Fry on Friday, March 11th from 11a-6:30p or until the fish are gone. Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children 6-12, and 5 and under free. Proceeds support youth mission trips to Alaska and the National Youth Gathering.

    2. Winsted Fish Fry
      3:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Winsted Knights of Columbus is having their Fish Fry on Friday, March 11 at the Blue Note Ballroom in Winsted from 3:30p-7p or until the fish are gone. Serving Eat in, take out or Drive Thru…Fish, French Fries, Cole Slaw, potato salad and more. Tickets are $11 in advance, $12 at the door, Children 6-10 are $5 and under 6 is free.  

    3. Cosmos Community Theatre
      7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Cosmos Community Theatre play at the Cosmos Legion will be March 11-13. Tickets for the Friday and Saturday evening performances, as well as the Sunday matinee, are available from cast or crew. For ticket information, call: 320.894.2905.

      Our Savior’s Lutheran School of Hutchinson would like to invite everyone to their Preschool – 5th grade Open House. It will be held Saturday, March 12th from 10 a.m. – Noon. Come check them out!

    1. Glencoe Spring Brunch
      9:00 am – 12:30 pm

      The Glencoe Lions Club invites you to their Annual “All You Care to Eat” Spring Brunch on Sunday, March 13 at the Pla-Mor Ballroom, Glencoe, serving from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with take-outs available. Menu includes: Pancakes, sausage, ham, eggs, fruit, and a beverage. Advance Adult tickets are $9.00 and are available from Lions Club Members. Prices at the door are Adults – $10.00, Children (age 4 – 10) $5.00, and children age three and under eat FREE. Proceeds will be used toward community projects. Collection boxes will also be available for your used eyeglasses, sunglasses and hearing aids.  

    2. Chili Dinner
      10:30 am – 2:00 pm

      The Brownton Congregational Church is having their Chili Dinner on Sunday, March 13th from 10:30a-2p. Enjoy Chili, Garlic Bread, Dessert and a Beverage for $7 or a Hot Dog and Chips Meal for $3. Take Outs and Chili by the Quart are available. Kids ages 6-12 are half price, under 5 is free.

    3. St. Patricks Party
      1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

      St. Brendan’s Catholic Church is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Party on Sunday, March 13th at 1:30 pm at the Green Isle School Gymnasium. Admission is $8, for Bingo, Raffle, Entertainment, and Lunch!

    4. Paddy O’Brien
      3:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Winsted Arts Council presents Erin Hart and Paddy O’Brien for Traditional Irish Music on Sunday, March 13th. From 3:30-4:30 pm they’ll be in the Winsted Arts Center ($5 per person) and from 7-8:30 pm they will perform at the Blue Note Ballroom ($10 adult/$5 Children or senior)
