The Mcleod County Historical Society presents the Documentary “Little Crow and the Dakota War” on Sunday, July 23rd at 7 pm at the State Theatre, Hutchinson. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids under 12. All Proceeds go to support the Historical Society and Museum.

−Dassel Flower Show2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Flowers will be on display at the Dassel Flower Show July 27 at the Dassel History Center from 2-4 pm. Arrangements and horticulture will be judged, awarded, and displayed. The show theme this year is Here Comes the Bride.There will be a flower arranging demonstration by Chuck Ortquist, music by Gregory Servin, plus dessert and coffee. There is no admission charge; donations are welcome. Area residents who enjoy flower gardening and arranging are invited to enter their horticulture and/or arrangement. More information and the rules, tips for exhibitors, and schedule may b e obtained at the History Center or by contacting staff at 320-275- 3077or dahs@dassel.com. There is no entry fee.

Faith Presbyterian Church and the Grace Bible Church of Silver Lake will be hosting an Outdoor Community Worship Service in the Silver Lake City Park on Sunday, August 6 from 9:00 AM—10:00 AM. Members of the Silver Lake Royalty and Candidates will also be present in the service. The public is invited to attend and there is no charge. In the event of inclement weather the service will be held at the Grace Bible Church (next to the city water tower).

−Corn Feed5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
The Brownton Lions are sponsoring the Annual Brownton Corn Feed and Pedal Pull on MONDAY, August 14th at the Brownton Community Center. Serving from 5pm to 7pm or until corn is gone. Tickets are $5 for ages 13 & up, $2 for ages 6 – 12 and free for children 5 and under. There will be a kids pedal pull at 7pm with registration starting at 6:30pm. Volunteers are needed to husk corn at 1pm in the city park on that day. Brownon Legion Auxiliary will have a pies and bars available for sale as well, members are asked to bring a pan of bars or 2 pies to the community center by 4 pm that day.
