  1. Aug

    1. Corn Feed
      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Brownton Lions are sponsoring the Annual Brownton Corn Feed and Pedal Pull on MONDAY, August 14th at the Brownton Community Center. Serving from 5pm to 7pm or until corn is gone. Tickets are $5 for ages 13 & up, $2 for ages 6 – 12 and free for children 5 and under. There will be a kids pedal pull at 7pm with registration starting at 6:30pm. Volunteers are needed to husk corn at 1pm in the city park on that day. Brownon Legion Auxiliary will have a pies and bars available for sale as well, members are asked to bring a pan of bars or 2 pies to the community center by 4 pm that day.

      Help support NYA Cross Country at Unhinged Pizza in NYA on Wednesday, August 16th on their Tip Night from 4-8 pm. All Tips and 10% of sales will be donated to Central Raiders Cross Country.

    1. Pork Chop and Corn Dinner
      5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      Faith Presbyterian Church, Silver Lake, will host a pork chop and corn dinner Thursday, Aug 17, from 5:30 – 7 PM at the church. The menu includes pork chops, corn on the cob, beans, dessert and beverage.  Advance reservations are required – call 320-327-3158 or 320-327-2452.

    2. August Brain Boosting Workshop
      6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

      The MN Brain Injury Force has their latest Brain Boosting Workshop on Thursday, August 17 at 6 pm at Hutchinson Health Hospital Room F. This Month…a discussion on 12 ways to Think Faster. More info at MNBIF.org

      The Church of Peace in NYA is having a Chow Mein Dinner on Friday, August 18th from 11a-1p at the church. Cost is just a free will offering.

      9:30 am – 4:00 pm

      Join St Andrew’s for Fun Fest on Sunday, August 20th in Fairfax. Mass at 9:30 am with Music by the St A’s Polkateers. Deep Fried Chicken Dinner served from 10:30-1p. Adults are $11, Children 5-10 are $5, under 5 is free. Also join the festivities from 10:30-4 pm…Music, Beer Wagon, Country Store, Bingo, Food Stands and more!

    2. Pork Chop Dinner
      11:00 am – 2:00 pm

      St John’s Lutheran Church of Hollywood has their annual Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, August 20th. Contemporary Worship Service starts the day at 9:30 am, Dinner from 11a-2p. Cost is $10 in advance for adults ($11 at the door), Children ages 5-11 $5, 4 and under are free.

    3. Fish Boil Dinner
      11:30 am – 1:00 pm

      The First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glencoe is hosting their annual Fish Boil Dinner on Sunday, August 20th from 11:30a-1p. Serving Pollack, Potatoes, Coleslaw, and more. Cost is a free will donation to the Orphan Grain Train.  

    4. PKOTMW Bus
      1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

      The Carver Cty Dairy Association is hosting a free fan bus to support Waconia’s Anna Broll competing in the Princess Kay of the Milky Way Competition on Wednesday, August 23rd. To secure a seat on the bus contact Barb at 952-657-2476 by August 20th.

      10:00 am – 11:00 am

      Cedar Crest is having a Public Nondenominational Church service on Sunday Aug 27 at 2pm. Service will be conducted by Chaplin Lester Schuft. Polka music and refreshments following the service.

    2. Turkey Supper
      11:15 am – 12:15 pm

      St John’s Catholic Church of Hector is holding their annual Turkey Supper on Wednesday, Sept. 6th from 4-7 pm at the church. Take Outs available. Cost is $10, Children 4-10 are $5.  

    3. Solar Eclipse Viewing
      12:30 pm – 1:30 pm

      Watch the Solar Eclipse at Ridgewater’s Hutchinson Campus. Faculty will have telescopes, binoculars, and viewing glasses available for community use and will be available to answer questions from 12:30-1:30 pm.  

    4. Brownton Legion Auxiliary Ladies Day
      6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Brownton Legion Auxiliary Ladies Day is on Monday, August 21st at the Brownton Bar and Grill at 6 pm. The group is also collecting dues for 2018 at this meeting.

    1. SL City Wide Garage Sales
      8:00 am – 5:00 pm

      Silver Lake will be having City Wide Garage Sales this Thursday, Friday & Saturday, Aug 24, 25, 26. Times will be Thursday & Friday 8 AM – 5 PM and Saturday 8 AM – Noon. The Silver Lake Women’s Club GFWC will be having a Bake Sale & BBQ Lunch at 312 Frank Street during the sales.

    1. Tent Revival
      6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

      Oak Heights Covenant Church of Hutchinson has their annual Tent Revival Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Aug 25-27). Free hot dogs, chips, and Lemonade served at 6 pm each night, and at 6:30 pm will be guest speakers and singers. On Friday, Evangelist Justin Hoover from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association will speak with music from Scott and Friends. On Saturday, Justin Hoover returns with music by the Union Gospel Mission. On Sunday, the Chancellors Quartet performs.

      The Historic Ness Church of Litchfield needs some volunteers for a Tree Planting on Satuday, Augusty 26th at 11 am. Free Lunch and Tree Dedication at Noon. Everyone is welcome.

      The Mcleod County Historic Partnership present a free event on the youngest of Mcleod County’s Early Pioneers on Sunday, August 27thfrom 1-3 pm at the Plato Park Shelter. Enjoy games, crafts, costumes, Stories, Prizes and more!

      The Minnesota Chapter of the Marfan Foundation is hodling their first Victory day family fun day fundraiser at the Bicentennial park in Hamburg on Saturday, Sept. 9th. The day includes food, a rib cook off, games and activities, kids carnival, 50/50 raffle, silent auction, dance, and more!

    2. Garage Sale Leftovers
      12:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      Hutchinson City Wide Garage Sales are Thursday-Saturday, Sept 7-9. Also, for those holding a Garage Sale you can bring your Garage Sale leftovers to the VFW Parking Lot in Hutchinson on Saturday, Sept. 9th from Noon-7 pm. Items accepted include: Clothing, Bedding, Kitchen Items, Knick Knacks, and Framed Artwork. Items and Proceeds go to Veterans Assistance. More details on their Facebook page.

    3. Afternoon Tea

      You’re invited to a benefit dinner for Rebecca Florek on Saturday, September 9th starting at 2 pm at the Monticello VFW. Spaghetti Dinner served until 6 pm for $10, Silent Auction, Bake Sale, Prizes and more. Proceeds benefit Florek who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.  

    5. Central MN SPortsmens Alliance Banquet
      3:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Central MN Sportsmen Alliance is having their Banquet on September 9th at the Brownton Community Center. Doors open at 3:30 pm for Games and Social Hour, Dinner at 6 pm.
