    1. Trebesch Benefit
      10:00 am – 1:00 pm

      Enjoy Dad’s Belgian Waffles at a Benefit and Silent Auction for Debbie Trebesch on Sunday, July 23rd from10a-1p at the Berdan Center, UFC Building in Winthrop. Free Will Donation and Take Outs Available. Proceeds benefit Trebesch who is in need of a Kidney and Liver Transplant.  

    2. Little Crow and the Dakota War
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Mcleod County Historical Society presents the Documentary “Little Crow and the Dakota War” on Sunday, July 23rd at 7 pm at the State Theatre, Hutchinson. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids under 12. All Proceeds go to support the Historical Society and Museum.

      The Plato Lions are having a Welcome Night on Monday, July 24th at the Plato Hall. Social at 5:30 pm, Free Dinner at 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome, Guest Speaker is Mayor Bob Becker.

      6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      Glencoe music in the park continues on Wednesday, July 26th at Oak Leaf Park. Performing at 6:30 pm is Chuck and Jason Thiel.

    1. Dassel Flower Show
      2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      Flowers will be on display at the Dassel Flower Show July 27 at the Dassel History Center from 2-4 pm. Arrangements and horticulture will be judged, awarded, and displayed. The show theme this year is Here Comes the Bride.There will be a flower arranging demonstration by Chuck Ortquist, music by Gregory Servin, plus dessert and coffee. There is no admission charge; donations are welcome. Area residents who enjoy flower gardening and arranging are invited to enter their horticulture and/or arrangement. More information and the rules, tips for exhibitors, and schedule may b e obtained at the History Center or by contacting staff at 320-275- 3077or dahs@dassel.com. There is no entry fee.

    1. Golf Tournament
      1:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      Take part in Zion Lutheran Church’s 3rd annual Golf Tournament on Sunday, July 30th. Registration Deadline is July 23. 4 person Scramble with a 1 pm Registration, 2:30 pm Shotgun Start at the Oakdale Country Club. $50 includes 9 holes of golf, cart, and meal. Meal only tickets are $15. Contact Jodi to register at 833-2097.  

    2. Lake Lillian Community Theatre
      2:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Lake Lillian Community Theatre presents “Cinderella in the Candy Kingdom” Sunday-Tuesday (July 30-Aug1) at the Former Lake Lillian School Gymnasium. Performances on Sunday is 2 pm, and Monday and Tuesday at 7 pm. Tickets are $5 at the door.  

    3. The History of Military Service Flags
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      You are invited to a program on World War 1 and the History of Military Service Flags on Sunday, July 30th from 2-3 pm at the Mcleod County Museum in Hutchinson. More info at mcleodhistory.org

      St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Hector has their Salad Luncheon on Wednesday, Aug 2nd at Noon. The program include Samantha Borderius Nelson and her trip to Nicaragua. Free Will Donations accepted.

      Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Hutchinson is having their Annual Ice Cream Social on Thursday, August 3rd from 4-6:30 pm. Take Outs available.  

    2. Canning Class
      6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Heart of Hutch is teaching a class on Canning, where one tomato sauce will be made and canned. The class will be Thursday, August 3rd from 6-8 pm at the Hutchinson Middle School. Cost is $15, contact Karen to register on 320-583-4419

      the Plato Lions have their annual Golf Tournament on Monday, August 14th at the Glencoe Country Club. Teams are needed for the tournament, to register contact Ron at 320-238-2285 or Ken at 320-238-2370. Register by August 5th.

    1. SL Outdoor Service
      9:00 am – 10:00 am

      Faith Presbyterian Church and the Grace Bible Church of Silver Lake  will be hosting an Outdoor Community Worship Service in the Silver Lake City Park on Sunday, August 6 from 9:00 AM—10:00 AM. Members of the Silver Lake Royalty and Candidates will also be present in the service. The public is invited to attend and there is no charge. In the event of inclement weather the service will be held at the Grace Bible Church (next to the city water tower).

      Senior Dance is coming up Wednesday, August 9th from 1:30-4:30 pm at the former Cosmos Legion. Music by Michael James.

      The Friends of the Hutchinson Library present a Schiffelly Puppet Show on Thursday, August 10th at 10 am at the State Theatre, Hutchinson. A zany rendition of a fairy tale will be told, Admission is Free.

    1. Fabulous Armadillos and October Son
      6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Litchfield Rotary presents the Fabulous Armadillos and October Son on Friday, August 11th at the Meeker County Fairgrounds. Cost is just a free will donation. All proceeds raised from the event will benefit kids in the community.

      6:45 am – 7:45 am

      The 38th annual Heatwole Threshing Show is August 12 and 13 at the Show Grounds Southwest of Hutchinson. Featured this year are Allis Chalmers Tractors, Daily Activities, Flea Market, Demonstrations, and more! Free admission.

    2. KMS Memorial Ride
      9:00 am – 9:00 pm

      You’re invited to take part in the KMS Memorial Ride on August 12th in Franklin. Registration is from 9a-11:30am, Cost is $30 per person (includes Dinner and Music). After Dinner stick around for the Live Band and Street Dance with Brat Pack Radio.

    1. Corn Feed
      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Brownton Lions are sponsoring the Annual Brownton Corn Feed and Pedal Pull on MONDAY, August 14th at the Brownton Community Center. Serving from 5pm to 7pm or until corn is gone. Tickets are $5 for ages 13 & up, $2 for ages 6 – 12 and free for children 5 and under. There will be a kids pedal pull at 7pm with registration starting at 6:30pm. Volunteers are needed to husk corn at 1pm in the city park on that day. Brownon Legion Auxiliary will have a pies and bars available for sale as well, members are asked to bring a pan of bars or 2 pies to the community center by 4 pm that day.

      Help support NYA Cross Country at Unhinged Pizza in NYA on Wednesday, August 16th on their Tip Night from 4-8 pm. All Tips and 10% of sales will be donated to Central Raiders Cross Country.

      5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      Faith Presbyterian Church, Silver Lake, will host a pork chop and corn dinner Thursday, Aug 17, from 5:30 – 7 PM at the church. The menu includes pork chops, corn on the cob, beans, dessert and beverage.  Advance reservations are required – call 320-327-3158 or 320-327-2452.

    2. August Brain Boosting Workshop

      The MN Brain Injury Force has their latest Brain Boosting Workshop on Thursday, August 17 at 6 pm at Hutchinson Health Hospital Room F. This Month…a discussion on 12 ways to Think Faster. More info at MNBIF.org

      Join St Andrew’s for Fun Fest on Sunday, August 20th in Fairfax. Mass at 9:30 am with Music by the St A’s Polkateers. Deep Fried Chicken Dinner served from 10:30-1p. Adults are $11, Children 5-10 are $5, under 5 is free. Also join the festivities from 10:30-4 pm…Music, Beer Wagon, Country Store, Bingo, Food Stands and more!

    2. Pork Chop Dinner
      11:00 am – 2:00 pm

      St John’s Lutheran Church of Hollywood has their annual Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, August 20th. Contemporary Worship Service starts the day at 9:30 am, Dinner from 11a-2p. Cost is $10 in advance for adults ($11 at the door), Children ages 5-11 $5, 4 and under are free.

    3. Fish Boil Dinner
      11:30 am – 1:00 pm

      The First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glencoe is hosting their annual Fish Boil Dinner on Sunday, August 20th from 11:30a-1p. Serving Pollack, Potatoes, Coleslaw, and more. Cost is a free will donation to the Orphan Grain Train.

      The Carver Cty Dairy Association is hosting a free fan bus to support Waconia’s Anna Broll competing in the Princess Kay of the Milky Way Competition on Wednesday, August 23rd. To secure a seat on the bus contact Barb at 952-657-2476 by August 20th.

      Cedar Crest is having a Public Nondenominational Church service on Sunday Aug 27 at 2pm. Service will be conducted by Chaplin Lester Schuft. Polka music and refreshments following the service.
