    1. June 14-15 Hamburg Zummerfest 2013 (all-day)
      Jun 14 – Jun 15

      The Hamburg Lions and the Hamburg Fire Relief Association invite you to Zummerfest 2013, Friday and Saturday, June 14th and 15th. Some of the highlights this year are the classic car cruise (7:00 PM) and street dance featuring The Castaways (8:30 PM) on Friday. On Saturday, enjoy the Texas Hold’em and Sheephead tournaments (9:00 AM), tractor pull (11:00 AM), classic barbecue contest (5:00 PM) and music by Blurred Vision (8:00 PM).

    2. Burger Night & Dairy Days
      4:00 pm – 7:30 pm

      The Plato lions will be sponsoring a burger night and dairy days with free ice cream on June 14th from 4–7:30pm at the Plato Park. Engelmann Dairy will be providing the ice cream, toppings and cheese. McLeod Dairy Association is providing the door prizes. Proceeds go to the local projects. Come out and support your local Lions.

    1. Golf Tournament

      Central MN Sportsmen Alliance Golf Tournament will be featuring it’s first annual golf tournament at ShadowBrooke Golf Course on June 15th, starting at 8am.They will also be featuring Hole in One Contests and a Pork Chop Dinner afterwards.     1. June 16 Cedar Mills Gun Club Pancake Brunch
      9:00 am – 12:00 pm

      You and your family are invited to the Cedar Mills Rod & Gun Club (62841 140th Street) for their monthly pancake brunch on Sunday, June 16th, with serving from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Enjoy all-you-care-to-eat regular and potato pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs and more. The cost is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for children 6 – 12 years of age, and those 5 and younger eat for free. The Cedar Mills Rod & Gun Club is located near the intersection of State Highways 7 and 22 northeast of Cedar Mills.

    1. The West Central Antique Power Collectors (all-day)

      The West Central Antique Power Collectors is having their annual Summer Show on June 22-23 at Blomkest, MN which is located at 1.5 miles east of Jct. US 71 and MN Hwy 7, 2682 195th Ave SE. It opens both days at 8am with free bingo from 1-3pm on Saturday or come and enter our raffle drawings at $2 each. Cash prizes of $1000, $500 and $250 along with a variety of prizes to be given away.Admission is $5.00, 15 and under are free. Food and cold drinks all day. Come and enjoy the fun!

    1. Red Cross Bloodmobile
      1:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Cokato on Monday June 24th from 1-7pm at the First Baptist Church which is located at 395 Broadway Ave North in Cokato. This will be for all blood types.     1. June 25 Senior Linkage Line Specialist at Hutchinson Event Center
      10:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Senior Linkage Line, a service of the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging, will have a specialist at the Hutchinson Event Center (1005 Highway 15 South) on Tuesday, June 25th, from 10:00 AM – noon. The specialist will assist seniors and answer questions about Medicare, Supplemental Insurance, Long Term Care Insurance, prescription drugs and much more.     2. June 26 Red Cross Bloodmobile in Lester Prairie
      1:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the Lester Prairie City Hall (37 Juniper Street North) on Wednesday, June 26th, from 1:00 – 7:00 PM. If you are in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and are at least 17 years of age (or 16 with parental consent), you’re encouraged to donate. For an appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

    3. June 26 Ice Cream Social at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (Hector)
      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA) of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (500 Cedar Avenue East) in Hector invites you to its annual Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, June 26th, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. The meal will be served in the church’s Fellowship Hall and will include barbecues, turkey sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad and homemade pie and ice cream. A free will donation will be accepted. Take out meals will be available.

      Peace Lutheran Church will be having their annual garage sale on June 27,28 and 29th. This is being held at the McLeod County Fairgrounds. June 27-4 to 7 pm, June 28-8to5pm and June 29th 8am to noon. We hope to see you there.

      Four former area high school athletes (Courtney Fox, Ashley Kiecker, Molly Monahan and Amanda Tronick) who are currently members of the Bemidji State University volleyball team, will be teaming up with Papa Murphy’s Take’N’Bake Pizza (1380 Highway 15 South) in Hutchinson for a fundraiser to help the team travel to Nicaragua. On Thursday, June 27th, or Friday, June 28th, purchase at least $10.00 at Papa Murphy’s in Hutchinson, save your receipt and turn it into one of the girls between 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Another way to support the team is to purchase a Papa Murphy’s coupon book for only $5.00. Coupon books can be purchased at the Hutchinson location or by contacting one of the participants.

    1. June 28 Deployment Party at Cosmos American Legion
      5:30 pm – 12:00 am

      The Beack-Thompson American Legion Post 126 (100 Astro Boulevard East) in Cosmos will host a Deployment Party for the National Guard Unit based in Litchfield. The event will be on Friday, June 28th, beginning with a chicken, fish and ribs buffet from 5:30 – 8:00 PM, followed by music provided by a DJ from 8:00 PM – midnight.       A hog farmer from Essig is not happy that his daughter is marrying the son of a Mankato mob boss but the wedding invitations have gone out.

    1. June 29 Zumbathon Charity Event for Relay for Life
      9:00 am – 11:00 am

      The “From Penny’s to Dollars” Relay for Life Team is teaming up with Zumba with Tricia Kiewel to host a “Zumbathon – Make Every Move Count” charity event on Saturday, June 29th, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the McLeod County Fairgrounds (840 Century Avenue SW) in Hutchinson. Registration will be from 8:00 – 9:00 AM. The cost is $10.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door. Tickets are available from team members and at Zumba with Tricia Kiewel classes.     2. June 29 Swedefest at Bernadotte Lutheran Church
      4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      Bernadotte Lutheran Church (6 miles east of Lafayette at 34122 515th Avenue) will celebrate its 19th Annual Swedefest on Saturday, June 29th, starting at 4:00 PM. The event will feature great entertainment including The Little Prairie Pickers, The Kingery Family, horse-drawn wagon rides, refreshments, a silent auction and the famous Swedish Smorgasbord. The cost for the meal is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children ages 6 – 12, and free for kids 5 years of age and younger. In case of inclement weather, all events will be held in the church.       The Palmyra Swedish Methodist Church will be holding its annual commemorative service on Sunday, June 30. A potluck luncheon will be served after the service.

    3. June 30 Commemorative Service at Palmyra Swedish Methodis Church
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      The historic Palmyra Swedish Methodist Church (41209 730th Avenue), rural Hector, will hold its annual Commemorative Service on Sunday, June 30th, beginning at 2:00 PM. A potluck luncheon will be served after the service. The church is located two miles south of the intersection of Renville County Roads 3 and 4, and 1¾ miles west.

    4. June 30 Sundaes for Sunday at BCC
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      This year’s Patriotic Service at the Brownton Congregational Church (127 5th Avenue North) will be Sunday, June 30th, at 7:00 PM. The theme will be “Sons of Liberty.” Ice cream sundaes will be served following the service.

    1. July 1 Hunger Free McLeod Fundraiser at Hutchinson DQ
      5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      You can help Hunger Free McLeod eliminate hunger by visiting the Dairy Queen (46 Main Street North) in Hutchinson on the first Monday of every month.     1. July 9 Wright County Alzheimer Support Meetings
      1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

      The next scheduled meetings of Wright County Human Services Alzheimer Support Group will take place on Tuesday, July 9th, and Tuesday, July 16th. The meeting on the 11th will be from 1:30 – 3:00 PM at the Buffalo Adult Day Center (613 Montrose Blvd.), and the meeting on the 18th will be from 1:30 – 3:00 PM at the Monticello Community Center (505 Walnut Street).     2. July 9 Memory Loss Caregiver Support Group
      6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The next meeting of a local area support group for adult children, spouses, and friends caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or a related memory loss will be on Tuesday, July 9th, beginning at 6:00 PM at First Lutheran Church (925 13th Street East) in Glencoe. The group meets the second Tuesday of every month, is open to the public and is free of charge.       The Dassel Cokato Legion is sponsoring a pork chop supper on July 12th at the Saints Field in Dassel. The price is $7.00. There are two games that will be taking place that night.     1. July 13 Free Community Breakfast at Bethlehem United Methodist Church
      8:30 am – 9:30 am

      Bethlehem United Methodist Church (665 Miller Ave SW) in Hutchinson is offering a free, hot breakfast from 8:30 – 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 13th. Everyone is welcome, and while there is no cost, they would appreciate it if you would contact the church (call 320-587-3312) to let them know how many will be attending. You may also pick up a ticket at Common Cup Ministry’s office (218 Main Street South) in Hutchinson. The free breakfast is served on the second Saturday of each month.

    2. July 13 Benefit for Jamie Grams-Petzel
      10:30 am – 3:00 pm

      The American Legion Club (329 Main Avenue) in Gaylord will host a benefit for Jamie Grams-Petzel as she continues her fight against breast cancer. The benefit will be on Saturday, July 13th, from 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Stop by and enjoy a meal featuring pulled pork sandwiches, take part in the silent auction and bake sale, and support Jamie!

    1. July 14 Hutchinson Sons of Norway Event
      8:00 am – 5:30 pm

      The Hutchinson Lodge of the Sons of Norway has chartered a coach bus for the annual celebration of Norway Day on Sunday, July 14th, at Minnehaha Falls Park in Minneapolis. The bus will leave the west parking lot of the Hutchinson Senior High School at 8:00 AM and return at 5:30 PM. The cost for transportation is $12.50/person and is non-refundable. A program book with coupons for drawings can be purchased for $2 at the event. The event includes Hardingfelelag music at 10:30 AM, followed by a worship service at 11:00 AM and Children’s Parade at 12:55 PM. There will also be arts and crafts, musicians and dancers from Norway, Norwegian American entertainment, Norwegian Glee Club, Norwegian food and drawings for prizes. All ages are welcome!
