    1. Salad Buffet
      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Brownton Congregational Church will have a salad buffet at 5 pm on Wednesday, July 8th.  Cost is a free will offering.

      4:00 pm – 7:30 pm

      The Plato Lions are serving Pork Burgers In the Park on Thursday, July 9th from 4-7:30 pm.  All Proceeds go to local projects.

    1. Pork Chop Feed
      5:00 pm – 7:30 pm

      It’s Pork Chop Feed Night at Saints Field in Dassel on Friday, July 10th.  The Legion will be serving their Pork Chops from 5-7:30 pm.  The DC Legion Baseball team will take on Rockford at 5 pm, with the DC Saints playing Loretto in Northstar League Baseball at 7:30 pm.. Come for food and ball!

    2. Gibbon Concert
      6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Greater Gibbon Area Uncommon Band of Renown continues its Summer Season with a Community Concert in Gibbon City Park on Friday, July 10th at 7:15 pm. Members of Augustana WELCA begin serving old-fashioned fare at 6pm, including BBQ’s, root beer floats, and their delicious pies and brownie sundaes!

    1. Ride to Save Lives
      11:30 am – 6:00 pm

      It’s the 3rd annual Ride to Save Lives Motorcycle and Bus Run on Saturday, July 11th.  Proceeds benefit SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education)  $20 per biker, $5 per rider, or you can ride the bus at $15 per person.  The ride is in memory of Mike Thaemert and starts at 11:30 am at Knuckleheads in Mayer.  The ride will end back at Knuckleheads also.

      10:30 am – 1:00 pm

      It’s a Salad Luncheon on Sunday, July 12th from 10:30-1 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Green Isle.  Serving a variety of Salads, BBQ’s, Desserts and more for a free will donation.

    2. Rand Benefit
      11:00 am – 3:00 pm

      You’re invited to a benefit for Sheila (Campbell) Rand  on Sunday, July 12th at Oak Leaf Park of Glencoe.  The event runs 11a-3p, serving a Pulled Pork Sandwich Luncheon.  Adults are $10, kids ages 5-11 are $5, and 4 and under free.  You can bid in the silent auction, and entertainment will be provided by the Swinging Country Band.  

    3. Picnic and Concert
      5:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      Zion Lutheran Church of Buffalo Lake is having their Picnic and Concert on Sunday, July 12th.  The meal starts at 5:30 pm with Hot Beef Sandwiches, Beans, Potato Salad, Chips, and Ice Cream.  The BASICS will perform at 7 pm that night.  All monies raised go to Zion’s Improvement Fund.

      The Rosendale United Methodist Church of Atwater is hosting an ice cream social on Tuesday, July 14 from 4 to 7 pm. Menu includes BBQ’s, Ham Sandwiches, Potato Salad, beans, Pie, Ice Cream, and beverage. Free will donation. Handicap accessible. Everyone is welcome.

    1. Mcleod County Senior Citizens
      12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

      The Mcleod County Senior Citizens will be meeting on Wednesday, July 15th at the Silver Lake Auditorium starting at 12 Noon with the meal.  Meeting and Cards will follow.  

    2. Ice Cream Social
      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The United Lutheran Church of Lake Lillian is having an ice cream social on Wednesday, July 15th from 5-7 pm.  BBQ’s, Hot Dogs, Beans, Pie Ice Cream and more all served for a free will offering.

    1. Kona Ice Fundraiser
      11:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Zion Lutheran Church of Buffalo Lake is sponsoring the Kona Ice Truck Friday, July 17th and Saturday, July 18th.  Friday the truck will be in downtown Buffalo Lake and on Saturday at the BL City Park.  All Monies raised will go to Zion’s Improvement Fund.

      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      You’re invited to an ice cream social on Friday, July 17th from 4-7 pm at the Educational Center on Highway 12, near the DC High School.  They are serving BBQ’s, potato salad, chips, pie, ice cream, and a beverage.  Free Will Offering, all are welcome!

    3. Gibbon Concert
      6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Greater Gibbon Area Uncommon Band of Renown continues its Summer Season with a Community Concert in Gibbon City Park on Friday, July 17th, beginning at 7:15 pm. Members of Saint Peter’s Church will serve great American fare including hotdogs and homemade pie beginning at 6 pm. 

    4. Crass with Class benefit
      7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Crass with Class Comedy Benefit is to honor the late Chuck Peterson by raising money for the Glencoe-Silver Lake Schools Special Education Department.  GSL Alumni and longtime friend of Chuck, Nathan Hults will be hosting and performing at the show along with several professional comics.  Tickets are $10 at the door with all proceeds going towards the Special Education department. Doors open 7:30pm on Friday, July 17th at the Silver-Lake Auditorium.  This is an 18+ show.

    1. Adoption Ride
      11:00 am – 6:00 pm

      It’s the 9th annual Adoption Ride on Saturday, July 18th ending at Cactus Jack’s in Stewart.  Other stops in the day include Watkins, Litchfield, and Marty.  Prizes drawn at 6 pm, with music from the Shaw Brothers following the ride.  All proceeds benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and Catholic Charities Adoption Services.  

    2. Benefit for Jason LeClaire
      11:00 am – 7:00 pm

      You’re invited to a benefit for Jason LeClaire on Saturday, July 18th, 11 am at the Dodge House in Lester Prairie.  Motorcycle Run starts at 11 (single rider $25, doubles $30), returns around 5 pm.  There will also be a silent auction, food, music, games, prizes and more.  Proceeds help Jason as he battles cancer.  RSVP by contacting the Dodge House

    3. 150th Celebration
      6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      St. John Lutheran Church of Hollywood is celebrating 150 years with a Praise Service on Saturday, July 18th at 6:30 pm.  Music provided by the Polka Sons of Praise.  Special Guest Speakers will be there, plus refreshments following the service.  The fun continues Sunday, July 19th with a worship service at 9:30 am, and an anniversary festival service under the tent at 2 pm.

    1. CR Habitat Volunteers
      10:15 am – 11:15 am

      Construction Volunteers are needed at the Crow River Habitat for Humanity Build Site.  Sheetrock, Painting, Siding, Trim installation…no experience needed, they’ll show you how.  Volunteers are also needed to provide lunches to their volunteers.  Build Days are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through Mid-August.  Call Pam at 587-8868 or check out crhfh.org for more Info

      You’re invited to the Orange Spectacular July 24th-26th at the Mcleod County Fairgrounds in Hutchinson.  Free admission and Parking…it’ the largest Allis Chalmers show in the USA.  More details at orangespectacular.com

    2. Gibbon Concert
      6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Greater Gibbon Area Uncommon Band of Renown concludes its 2015 Summer Season with a Community Concert in Gibbon City Park on Friday, July 24th, beginning at 7:15 pm.Fans of the Band will be serving brats, hot dogs, and pies beginning at 6 pm.

    1. Bikers Sunday
      9:30 am – 11:00 am

      Members and friends of Grace Bible Church in Silver Lake invite all area motorcycle enthusiasts to their annual Biker’s Sunday Service scheduled for Sunday, July 26, beginning at 9:30 am. Dress is casual, and those who attend are encouraged to wear their favorite biker clothes. Weather permitting after the service there will be a short ride -  followed by an all church potluck.  The public is invited to attend.  

    2. Ice Cream Social
      3:30 pm – 6:30 pm

      St. Peter Lutheran Church of Lester Prairie is having their annual Ice Cream Social and Country Store on Sunday, July 26th from 3:30-6:30 pm.  On the menu is Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, BBQ’s, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Homemade Pies, Ice Cream, Root Beer Floats and more.  Take Outs Available.

      You’re invited to a Benefit Picnic and Music in the Park for Jeff Lux on Wednesday, July 29th at Library Square in Hutchinson.  The event runs from 5-8 pm with Live Music and serving Walking Tacos, Cookie and Beverage for $6.  There is also a silent auction, raffle, and games.

    2. The Fantasticks
      6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Hutchinson Theatre Company presents the Fantasticks July 30 and 31st, August 1st, and August 6-8. The show will be at the Hutchinson Middle School, with tickets $18 per person.  Tickets available online at hutchtheatre.org, or in person at the Chamber office or at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts.

Aug.2.  Friday events-Toilet Bowl Races 7 P.M. with street dance to follow.   Saturday events, 8 a.m. 5K run/walk; Flea Market, crafts, 10 a.m. Kiddie parade with games to follow, 1 p.m. Mini Tractor pull & Classic Car Show & Bean Bag Tournament, 7 pm Polka Mass; 8:30 Royalty Ball.  Sunday events, 1 p.m. Parade; 3 p.m. Royalty coronation.  Food all three days

      The Fairfax Library is hosting a Saturday Matinee Movie, this Saturday Aug. 1st at 10:30 am.  They will be showing Disney’s “Enchanted”.

    1. SL Outdoor Worship Service
      9:00 am – 10:00 am

      Faith Presbyterian Church and Grace Bible Church of Silver Lake  will be hosting an Outdoor Community Worship Service in the Silver Lake City Park on Sunday, August 2 from 9AM—10 AM. Those attending should bring their own lawn chairs. The public is invited to attend. In the event of inclement weather the service will be held at Grace Bible Church.
