    1. Contagious Kindness Day

    2. Hamburg Tractor Pull
      8:30 am – 3:00 pm

      The Hamburg Lions & Hamburg Fire Dept. Relief Assn will sponsor a Farm Stock Tractor, Pickup & Semi Truck Pull on Sat  June 21 at the Hamburg Bi-Centennial Park. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Starting time for the pull is 10:30 a.m.  Contact Donald Dammann – for more info at 612-269-8224

    3. CR Beekeeping Fundraiser
      10:00 am – 4:00 pm

      The Crow River Beekeeping Club is having a fundraiser at the Hutchinson Mall on Saturday, June 21st from 10a-6p.  There will be vendors and a bake sale with products made from honey.  The clubs observation hive will be out to see the busy bees, plus they will be giving demonstrations.

    4. Guennigsmann Benefit
      1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      It’s a fun filled afternoon for the Dave Guenningsman Benefit on Saturday, June 21st, from 1-5 pm at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel.  Enjoy the meal, shop at the bake sale, bid on the silent auction, enjoy family fun and games, listen to live music and more!  Proceeds benefit Dave and his medical bills fighting squamous cell cancer.

      4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Bernadotte Lutheran Church of Layfayette presents their 20th annual Swedefest on Saturday, June 21st from 4-8 pm.  Enjoy Entertainment from the Little Prairie Pickers and the Ken and Ken Show, Eat the famous Swedish Smorgasbord (adults $11, 6-12 $5, under 5 is free), Enjoy refreshments, Get horse drawn wagon rides, kids activities, and more!  More info go to fields-of-grace.org (include the dashes)

    1. HJLBA Pancake Breakfast
      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Hutchinson Junior League Baseball Assn is having a pancake breakfast on Sunday, June 22nd from 8a-Noon at the Hutchinson Elks Lodge.  On the menu is Mixed fruit, scrambled eggs, pancakes, ham, sausage, and beverage.  Cost is $6 for all you can eat, Kids under 5 eat free.  

    2. WC Power Social Gathering and Cancellation
      1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      The West Central Antique Power Collectors June 21-22 Antique Power Show is being cancelled due to heavy rain.  Instead, The club invites you to a social gathering Sunday June 22 1-3 pm  at their Hwy 7 show site 1/2 mile East of Blomkest.  Root beer floats, coffee and pie will be available prior to the Raffle Drawings of over 50 prizes including $1100 cash prizes ($2/ticket).

    1. Pork Chop Fundraiser
      4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Mcleod County Historical Society is having their Pork Chop Supper Fundraiser on Monday, June 23rd from 4:30-7 pm at the Museum in Hutchinson.  Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for kids.  Entertainment by the Ian and Dick Kimmel Bluegrass Band.  More info at mcleodhistory.org

    1. Alpensterne at Peace
      12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

      Peace Lutheran Church of Hutchinson will begin their Wednesday Noon Recital Series on June 25th at Noon at the church.  This week’s recital is from Alpensterne.  After the concert is a salad and sandwich buffet.  The concert is free, tickets for the buffet is $7 for adults, $2 for children under 12.

    1. “Fun-raiser” for Sophie Kohler (all-day)

      The community of Winsted is having a benefit for Sophie Kohler, daughter of Gregg Kohler and Jessica Fiecke.  Sophie was born March 29, 2013, with Down Syndrome.  She has been in and out of the hospital several times due to various procedures and illnesses.  The “Fun-raiser” will be on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Blue Note Ballroom in Winsted.  All proceeds from the event will help the family with medical and other expenses.  Monetary donations can be sent to Sophie Kohler, Security Bank & Trust, 110 1st Street North, PO Box 130, Winsted, MN 55395.

    2. Bethlehem United Methodist Church Yard Sale
      9:00 am – 3:00 pm

      Bethlehem United Methodist Church of Hutchinson is having their yard sale on Saturday, June 28th from 9a-3p at the church.  Clothes, furniture, toys, books, tools…something for everyone on the sale. Proceeds to the Relay for Life McLeod County.  Selling baked goods to benefit youth mission activities. 

    3. Beanbag Fundraiser
      11:00 am – 11:45 pm

      You’re invited to a Fundraiser for the Susan G Komen 3 day Walk Team Flamboyant Flamingo Flock.  Enjoy a Beanbag Touranment, BBQ, Beer and a Band on Saturday, June 28th at the Mcleod County Fairgrounds.  $20 entry fee per 2 person team, guaranteed 4 games minimum with cash payouts.  Register by 11 am June 28th, Tournament starts at Noon.  Bring the kids and family for bouncy house, face painting, games Live Band from 8-midnight and concessions. 

    4. Blackstad Brothers Concert and Dinner

      The Blackstad Brothers Dinner and Concert will be Saturday, June 28th at the Peace Center in Hutchinson.  This tribute to the Everly Brothers will start at 6 pm for Dinner, 7:30 pm Concert.  Tickets are advance sale ONLY and are $30.  Tickets available from Peace Lutheran Church (587-3031)

      Prairie Community Church of Lester Prairie is having an Ice Cream Social on Sunday, June 29th from 10a-1p at the church.  

    2. Commemorative Service

      The Palmyra Swedish Methodist Church will be holding their annual commemorative service on Sunday, June 29th starting at 2 pm.  A potluck lunch will be served after the service, everyone is invited.

    1. Challenge Grant Month at McLeod Food Shelf
      8:00 am – 1:00 pm

      The McLeod Emergency Food Shelf and Open your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless announce  the Food Shelf Challenge Grant.  Open Your Heart will match donations to the Mcleod Emergency Food Shelf during the month of July, up to $5,000.  Non perishable donations may be brought to either location (Hutchinson and Glencoe) between 8 am and 1 pm.  Cash Donations preferred at Glencoe.

    1. New Auburn 4th of July Celebration
      4:30 pm – 10:00 pm

      New Auburn is hosting their 4th of July Celebrations on July 3rd and 4th at High Island Lake.  On Thursday is the Fire Dept Relief Assn’s Pork Chop Dinner from 4:30-7 pm.  Free music by the Goettl band at that event.  On Friday is the Car Truck and Bike Show from 10a-3p, Chicken/Fish Dinner from 11a-5p ($8), Games for the Kids, Bingo, Fireworks at Dusk, and More!

    1. Gibbon 4th of July Concert
      6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Gibbon Area Uncommon Band of Renown invites you to an old-fashioned Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 4th, in Gibbon City Park. Activities include patriotic crafts at 6 pm; a family-friendly, all-ages kickball game at 7 pm, a special patriotic concert at 7:15; and a children’s march at break. Food and homemade pie will be provided by the Immanuel Lutheran Church Pioneers beginning at 6 pm. 

    2. Lake Waconia Fireworks Show
      10:00 pm – 10:30 pm

      The Lake Waconia Fireworks Show will be on July 4th at Dusk.  Best Viewing of the show will be from the Lake Waconia Regional Park, Laketown Parkway, Lola’s Lakehouse, or on a boat on the lake!

    1. Country Church Service
      10:00 am – 1:00 pm

      Minnesota Pioneer Park in Annandale welcomes everyone to its annual ecumenical Country Church Service in the historic Finnish Apostolic Church on July 6. Music begins at 10 a.m., Service begins at 10:30 a.m. Come sing traditional hymns and hear worship speaker Ann Joos of Hamburg, Minnesota. Ann will speak about the exciting mission work in Tanzania and the lives that have been changed because of it. Stay after the service for a brunch served in the Big Woods dining room with free will donations accepted.

    1. Kinnery benefit
      11:00 am – 9:00 pm

      There will be a fundraiser benefit and silent auction for Erin Kinnery on Monday, July 7th at Buffalo Wild Wings in Hutchinson.  Just present a coupon (which you can download on facebook) and part of the proceeds from your meal go to help Erin and her medical expenses.  Erin suffered a stroke in June and is still hospitalized.

    1. 3M Retiree Lunch
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      The monthly 3M Retiree Luncheon for this month will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at the Red Goat Restaurant in Cokato.  This is a change in location from what was published in the 3M Megaphone.  The luncheon is held the second Wednesday of every month.

    2. Noon Recital Series at Peace Lutheran
      12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

      Peace Lutheran Church (400 Franklin St. SW) in Hutchinson is once again hosting its summer Wednesday Noon Recital Series.  On Wednesday, July 9, music will be provided by Stoney Point, consisting of Brian Brosz, Lucy Newcomb and Robin Kashuba.  The half-hour recitals are free and open to the public.  A salad and lunch buffet lunch will be served following the recitals.  Lunch is $7.00 for adults, and $2.00 for children under 12.

    3. Cosmos Senior Dance
      1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

      The Next Senior Dance at the Cosmos Legion will be Wednesday, July 9th from 1:30-4:30 pm.  Music by Vern Black.  A light lunch follows the music.

      The Fiber Arts Guild is meeting on Thursday, July 10th at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts from 1-4 pm.  This month it’s Fiber Weaving with Joy Gerard.  Cost is $10 for Non Members, $5 for Members.

      The Gibbon Area Uncommon Band of Renown continues its 2014 Summer Season with a Community Concert in Gibbon City Park on Friday, July 11th, beginning at 7:15 pm. Members of Augustana Church begin serving food at 6pm, including BBQ’s, root beer floats, pies and brownie sundaes!

    1. White Squirrel Festival in Plato
      8:30 am – 1:00 pm

      Plato’s White Squirrel Festival is planned for Sunday, July 13th.  The activities begin with the Omelet Brunch served from 8:30 AM – noon.  Also from 8:30 AM – noon, it’s St. Paul’s UCC Silent Auction at the Plato Hall.  The Community Church Service featuring the Minnesota Teen Challenge Choir is at 9:30 AM.  Other activities include a performance of the Hutchinson Clown Club at 10:30 and the duck races at 1:00 PM.  Hamburgers and hotdogs will available in the City Park from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. 

    2. GI Salad Luncheon
      10:30 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Green Isle is having a Salad Luncheon on Sunday, July 13th from 10:30a-1p at the church.  On the menu is Salads, BBQ’s, Desserts, and beverage…all for a free will offering.  Proceeds go to Mission Projects.
