      You and your family are invited to the Cedar Mills Rod & Gun Club (62841 140th Street) for their monthly pancake brunch on Sunday, March 17th, with serving from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Enjoy all-you-care-to-eat regular and potato pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs and more. The cost is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for children 6 – 12 years of age, and those 5 and younger eat for free. The Cedar Mills Rod & Gun Club is located near the intersection of State Highways 7 and 22 northeast of Cedar Mills.

    1. April 1 Hunger Free McLeod Fundraiser
      8:00 am – 9:00 am

      You can help Hunger Free McLeod eliminate hunger at the Dairy Queen (46 Main Street North) in Hutchinson on the first Monday of every month. Stop in and enjoy your DQ favorites between 5:00 – 8:00 PM, and they’ll donate 10 percent of all sales to Hunger Free McLeod. For more information, check out www.hungerfreemcleod.org.

    1. March 19 Caregiver Support Group Meeting
      1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

      The next meeting of the Renville County Hospice Caregiver Support Group will be on Tuesday, March 19th, from 1:30 – 3:00 PM in the Willette Room of RC Hospital & Clinics (611 East Fairview) in Olivia. The meeting is free of charge, and there will be time for discussion and support. Future meetings are scheduled the third Tuesday of each month.       The Hamburg Lions Club invites you to its Spring Bingo on Friday, March 22nd, beginning at 7:00 PM at the Hamburg Community Hall (351 Henrietta Avenue). Play 25 games for just $8.00. They’ll be giving away door prizes throughout the evening as well, and refreshments will be available.

    1. March 24 Smoked Ham & Pancake Breakfast
      8:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (240 Cleveland Avenue) of Green Isle will serve its annual Smoked Ham & Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, March 24th, from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, applesauce, bars and beverages. The cost is a free will offering. You’re also invited to join them for their worship service which will begin at 7:45 AM.

    2. March 24 Stewart Lions Kids Easter Party & Pancake Breakfast
      9:00 am – 12:30 pm

      The Stewart Lions invite area children to their annual Kids Easter Party & Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, March 24th, from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM at the Stewart Fire Hall (550 Prior Street). There will be an opportunity for all kids to have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny and to participate in the Kids Coloring Contest. The breakfast menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, milk, juice and coffee. The cost for the breakfast is a free will donation with proceeds being used for local projects.

    1. March 26 Senior Linkage Line Specialist at HEC
      10:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Senior Linkage Line, a service of the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging, will have a specialist at the Hutchinson Event Center (1005 Highway 15 South) on Tuesday, March 26th, from 10:00 AM – noon. The specialist will assist seniors and answer questions about Medicare, Supplemental Insurance, Long Term Care Insurance, prescription drugs and much more.     1. March 23 King’s Kids Preschool Open House
      7:30 am – 5:00 pm

      King’s Kids Preschool, located at Christ the King Lutheran Church (1040 South Grade Road) in Hutchinson, will have an open house on Saturday, March 23rd, from 9:00 AM – noon. Public registration for fall classes will be on Thursday, March 28th, from 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM on a first come, first served basis.

    1. April 2 Bethel Lutheran Church Paper Drive
      8:00 am – 7:00 pm

      Bethel Lutheran Church (77 Lincoln Avenue) in Lester Prairie is sponsoring a paper drive from Tuesday, April 2nd, through Tuesday, April 16th. Bring your newspapers, magazines, catalogs, telephone books, business papers, paper board boxes, shredded paper and corrugated cardboard to the site between 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM Monday through Saturday, and between 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM on Sundays. No plastic bags, rope or string, please! Recycle your paper. Save the earth!

    1. April 4 HCT to Present “Hot Property” (all-day)
      Apr 4 – Apr 6

      Hutchinson Community Theatre will present six performances of “Hot Property” by Fred Carmichael. Performances will be April 4th – 6th and April 11th – 13th. All performances will be at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts (15 Franklin Street SW), with doors opening at 6:30 PM and the show beginning at 7:00 PM. All seats are reserved, with tickets priced at $18.00. Tickets are available online at www.hutchtheatre.org or at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts and the Hutchinson Area Chamber of Commerced & CVB.

    2. April 4 Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary Spaghetti Supper
      4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary will serve its monthly spaghetti supper on Thursday, April 4th, from 4:30 – 7:00 PM in the American Legion Post 96 Commander’s Room (please use east entrance). The cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.00 for children 12 years of age and younger. All suppers are open to the public, families are welcome and take out orders will be available. Suppers are served the first Thursday of each month October through May.

The menu will include pork chops (prepared by the Wright County Pork Producers), scalloped potatoes, corn, applesauce, rolls, dessert and beverage.     1. April 9 Memory Loss Caregiver Support Group
      6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The next meeting of a local area support group for adult children, spouses, and friends caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or a related memory loss will be on Tuesday, April 9th, beginning at 6:00 PM at First Lutheran Church (925 13th Street East) in Glencoe. The group meets the second Tuesday of every month, is open to the public and is free of charge.     2. April 9 Firearms Safety Training at Cedar Mills Gun Club
      7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

      The Cedar Mills Gun Club, located a half mile north of the junction of State Highways 7 & 22 near Cedar Mills (62841 140th Street), will be offering a three-session firearms safety training course, beginning on Tuesday, April 9th. The class is open to anyone age 12 and older (copy of birth certificate or drivers license needed at registration on first class date) and you must be able to attend all three sessions. Class dates and times are Tuesday, April 9th (7:00 – 9:30 PM), Saturday, April 20th (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM) and Sunday, April 21st (1:00 PM – ??). $7.50 will be due at the start of the training and another $7.50, payable to the State of Minnesota, will be due after successful completion or the class.       Bethlehem United Methodist Church (665 Miller Ave SW) in Hutchinson is offering a free, hot breakfast from 8:30 – 9:30 AM on Saturday, April 13th. Everyone is welcome, and while there is no cost, they would appreciate it if you would contact the church (call 320-587-3312) to let them know how many will be attending. You may also pick up a ticket at Common Cup Ministry’s office (218 Main Street South) in Hutchinson. The free breakfast is served on the second Saturday of each month.

    1. April 14 Polka Worship & German Dinner
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (201 South Street) in Stewart is sponsoring its annual Polka Worship & German Dinner on Sunday, April 22nd. Worship will be at 10:00 AM featuring the Wendinger Band. The dinner will be served from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The menu includes brats, meatballs, German potato salad, scalloped potatoes, glazed carrots, sauerkraut and more. The cost is a free will donation with proceeds used to replace windows and two exterior doors.

    2. April 14 ENDHUNGERNE Food Packaging Event
      12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

      ENDHUNGERNE is a having a Food Packaging Event on Sunday, April 14th, beginning at 12:00 PM at the Hutchinson VFW (247 1st Avenue SE) and volunteers are needed! Meals packaged will benefit the McLeod County Food Shelf and surrounding communities through the Feed America Food Bank. For more information, visit www.endhungerne.com

    3. April 14 Community Bingo at Ecumen Oaks & Pines
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      Area seniors are invited to play Community Bingo on Sunday, April 14th, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM in the Dining Room at the Ecumen Oaks & Pines (1015 Century Avenue SW) in Hutchinson. The cost is 25 cents per card for each regular game. The last game will be a “cover all” game and will be $1.00 per card, winner takes all. Coffee and snacks will follow the fun!     2. April 18 Lake Marion Improvement Association Meeting

      The First Congregational United Church of Christ (31 4th Avenue SW) in Hutchinson will have a rummage sale on Friday, April 19th, from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. All items will be priced at 50¢ (unless otherwise marked). Starting at noon, all items will be priced at 25¢, and after 1:00 PM, it’s just $1.00 for everything you can stuff in a bag. Coffee and cookies will be available while you shop.

    4. April 19 Dassel Rod & Gun Club Spring Fish Fry
