    1. Through October 25 Donations Sought for Fall Festival for Special Needs Children
      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      Donations are currently being accepted for Hutchinson Public Schools’ Fall Festival for Children with Special Needs. This year’s event will be on Monday, October 29th, at West Elementary School (875 School Road SW) from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Donations for the event will be taken through October 25th.     1. October 30 McLeod Council of the American Legion and Auxiliary Meeting
      7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      The McLeod County Council of the American Legion and Auxiliary will meet at the Silver Lake American Legion Post 141 (241 Main Street East) on Tuesday, October 30th, starting at 7:30 PM.

    1. October 31 “Trick or Treat” at Ecumen Oaks & Pines
      3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      Area children and families are invited to “Trick or Treat” at Ecumen Oaks & Pines on Wednesday, October 31st, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM. Residents will be handing out treats in the 1st floor living room area of both buildings. This event is for children 12 and younger. All children MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult. Ecumen Oaks & Pines is located at 945 & 1015 Century Avenue SW in Hutchinson. For more information contact Jane Messner at 320-234-0868 .

    2. October 31 Brownton Lions Youth Halloween Party
      5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Brownton Lions will sponsor a Youth Halloween Party on Wednesday, October 31st, from 5:30 – 7:00 PM at the Brownton Community Center (310 2nd Street North).  The event is for children in sixth grade and younger.  The cost for the event is $3.00 per child, up to a maximum of $10.00 per family.  All proceeds will be donated to the McLeod Emergency Food Shelf.  They will also be collecting old eyeglasses and hearing aids to be donated to Lions International for recycling.

    1. November 1 Fall Luncheon & Bake Sale at Good Shepherd Lutheran
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (1407 Cedar Avenue) of Glencoe will be hosting a Fall Luncheon & Bake Sale on Thursday, November 1st, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Enjoy hot turkey sandwiches, potato salad, relishes, chips, desserts and beverages. The price is $7.00 with takeout orders available. The public is invited.

    2. November 1 Bloodmobile in Plato
      1:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Plato on Thursday, November 1st, at Cross Roads West (10478 Bell Avenue). Hours for the blood drive will be from 1:00 – 7:00 PM. If you’re at least 17 years of age (or 16 with a signed Parent/Guardian Consent Form), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in good health, you’re encouraged to donate.     3. November 1 Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary Spaghetti Supper
      4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

      The Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary will serve its monthly spaghetti supper on Thursday, November 1st, from 4:30 – 7:30 PM in the American Legion Post 96 Commander’s Room (please use east entrance). The cost is $6.00 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 years of age and younger. All suppers are open to the public, families are welcome and take out orders will be available. Suppers are served the first Thursday of each month October through May.

    1. November 2 Chili & Pie Luncheon and Bake Sale
      10:00 am – 1:00 pm

      The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of St. John’s Lutheran Church (410 1st Street North) in Winsted invites you to its annual Chili & Pie Luncheon and Bake Sale on Friday, November 2nd. The luncheon will be served in the church’s Fellowship Hall from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Takeout orders will be available and you can place your order by calling (320) 485-2522.

    1. November 3 St. Andrew’s Catholic Church Fall Bazaar & Quilt Display
      8:30 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Andrew’s Catholic Church (17 1st Street NW) in Fairfax invites you to its Fall Bazaar & Quilt Display on Saturday, November 3rd, from 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM. Starting bright and early at 8:30 AM, they’ll be serving apple dumplings, rolls and coffee. From 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM, they’ll be serving a soup and sandwich luncheon as well as desserts. The bazaar will also include a bake sale, crafts sale and country store items.

    2. November 3 D-C Early Childhood Advisory Craft Fair
      9:00 am – 2:00 pm

      The Dassel-Cokato Early Childhood Advisory Council will sponsor its Annual Craft Fair on Saturday, November 3rd, from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the D-C High School/Middle School (4852 Reardon Avenue SW), located between Dassel and Cokato along Highway 12. The event will feature 80-plus craft vendors and fun food vendors. Admission and parking are both free.

    3. November3 Fall Extravaganza at Harmony River
      9:00 am – 2:00 pm

      Harmony River Living Center and Auxiliary is sponsoring it’s FALL EXTRAVAGANZA on Saturday, November 3rd, from 9 am – 2 pm. in the community room.  Come check out the arts and crafts, baked goods and items from vendors.  There will be drawings for door prizes with no admission charge. Harmony River Living Center is located at 1555 Sherwood Street SE, Hutchinson, MN.

    1. November 6 Election Day Luncheon in Winsted
      10:30 am – 1:30 pm

      Holy Family Council #204 invites you to its annual Election Day Luncheon on Tuesday, November 6th, from 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM at the Holy Trinity Social Hall (110 Winsted Avenue West) in Winsted. Enjoy homemade chicken noodle soup and chili, pie and ice cream, and beverages. There will also be a country store and bake sale from 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM in conjunction with the luncheon. Coffee and donuts will be served from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at the country store and bake sale.

    1. December 7 “Joy to the World” at St. John’s Lutheran (Winsted)
      6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      Join in the celebration of Christmas with “Joy to the World” at St. John’s Lutheran Church (410 1st Street North) in Winsted on Friday, December 7th. Hors d’Oeuvres and refreshments will be served from 6:00 – 7:00 PM with the concert, featuring Pastor Mark Loder and the St. John’s Quartet, beginning at 7:15 PM. The cost is a free will donation to support St. John’s ministry and seminary student Karl Yahr.

    1. November 8 Focus on Healthy Living at MMH
      6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

      Meeker Memorial Hospital (612 South Sibley) in Litchfield will present its next Focus on Healthy Living program on Thursday, November 8th, beginning at 6:30 PM at the MMH Conference Center.  The program is called “A Confident Retirement,” and will teach you how to take a disciplined and integrated approach to planning for your dreams and goals, as well as financing for your health.  The event is free.  Call  320-693-4519 for more information, or visit www.meekermemorial.org.

    1. November 9 -10 Holiday Open House at Emmaus Gift Shop
      5:00 pm – 2:00 pm

      The Emmaus Gift Shop (200 North Holcombe) in Litchfield is having its “Holiday Open House” on Friday, November 9th, and Saturday, November 10th. Friday’s hours will be from 5:00 – 8:00 PM and Saturday’s hours will be from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Check out the gifts and holiday decorations, plus there will be coffee, cider and cookies to enjoy! In conjunction with the open house, there will be a bake sale on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM. Everyone is welcome. The Emmaus Gift Shop is a non-profit, volunteer staffed organization with proceeds benefiting the residents of Ecumen of Litchfield, formerly Augustana Homes.

    1. November 10 Free Community Breakfast at Bethlehem United Methodist Church
      8:30 am – 9:30 am

      Bethlehem United Methodist Church (665 Miller Ave SW) in Hutchinson is offering a free, hot breakfast from 8:30 – 9:30 AM on Saturday, November 10th. Everyone is welcome, and while there is no cost, they would appreciate it if you would contact the church (call 320-587-3312 ) to let them know how many will be attending. You may also pick up a ticket at Common Cup Ministry’s office (218 Main Street South) in Hutchinson. The free breakfast is served on the second Saturday of each month.

    1. November 11 Community Bingo at Ecumen Oaks & Pines
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      Area seniors are invited to play Community Bingo on Sunday, November 11th, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM in the Dining Room at the Ecumen Oaks & Pines (1015 Century Avenue SW) in Hutchinson. The cost is 25 cents per card for each regular game. The last game will be a “cover all” game and will be $1.00 per card, winner takes all. Coffee and snacks will follow the fun!     1. November 12 Benefit for the Families of Brandon Lindeman and Dusting Odenthal
      11:00 am – 9:00 pm

      A benefit is planned for the families of Brandon Lindeman and Dustin Odenthal, both of whom died in an automobile accident in late September. The benefit will be on Monday, November 12th, from 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM at Buffalo Wild Wings (1040 Highway 15 South) in Hutchinson. 15 percent of each check will be donated to the families when you bring in a printed flyer and present it when you pay your bill.     2. November 12th Hutchinson ECFE Relatives as Caregivers
      6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Hutchinson Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is hosting a Relatives as Caregivers event at the ECFE building- 775 School Rd. S-on Monday  November 12th from 6-8 p.m. This event is for all grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends who are doing full time care for children who are not on their own.     1. November 13 National Memory Screening Day at Lakeview Ranch
      7:15 am – 8:15 am

      National Memory Screening Day is Tuesday, November 13th, and Lakeview Ranch (22851 State Highway 15) in Dassel is participating by offering free, confidential memory screenings. National Memory Screening Day is an initiative of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

    2. November 13 Bloodmobile at Peace Center
      12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

If you’re at least 17 years of age (or 16 with parental/guardian permission), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in good health, you’re encouraged to donate.

    1. November 14 Free AARP Driver Safety Class for Veterans
      12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      Veterans, the spouse of a veteran, or the widow of a veteran – age 55 and older – are being offered the opportunity to sign up for a free, one-time only driver safety class, courtesy of the City of Hutchinson-Senior Center and AARP. This class renews your Safe Driver certification and qualifies you for the 10% auto insurance discount by taking the AARP-Driver Safety Program class. The class will be at the Hutchinson Senior Center (1005 Highway 15 South) on Wednesday, November 14th, from noon – 4:00 PM. You may register in person at the Senior Center, or by calling 320-234-5656. Some proof of military service, such as a DD214, Legion or VFW membership, or dependent identification is required.

    1. 18 Paper Drive at Peace Lutheran Church
      9:00 am – 5:00 pm

      Peace Lutheran Church (400 Franklin Street SW) in Hutchinson is conducting a Paper Drive from Friday, November 16th, through Sunday, November 18th. The collection times for Friday and Saturday will be from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and Sunday’s collection time will be from 9:00 AM – noon. Just bring your recyclable paper products to the trailer in the church’s parking lot.

    2. November 16 Kingston Apostolic Lutheran Church Chili Supper
      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Apostolic Lutheran Church (72245 CSAH 27) in Kingston invites you to its 6th Annual Chili Supper on Friday, November 16th, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Enjoy chili, cornbread, bars and beverages. A soup alternative will be offered. In conjunction with the supper, a craft and baked goods sale will also be held.

    3. November 16 Matthew 14:16 Supper and Movie Night at Peace Lutheran Church
      5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      Peace Lutheran Church (400 Franklin Street SW) of Hutchinson will host its monthly Matthew 14:16 Supper on Friday, November 16th, beginning at 5:00 PM. The event offers a free, warm, nourishing meal, to anyone in the community. Following the supper, they’ll have their free family movie night, beginning at 6:30 PM. Come enjoy the movie as well as some free popcorn and lemonade.

    4. November 16 Hamburg Lions Fall Bingo
      7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Hamburg Lions Fall Bingo & Meat Raffle night will take place on Friday, November 16th, beginning at 7:00 PM at the Hamburg Community Hall (351 Henrietta Avenue). The cost is $8.00 for 25 games, with proceeds going toward community events and projects. Door prizes will be given away between every game. Refreshments will be available throughout the evening.

    5. November 16 Plato Baseball Poultry Party
      7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      Plato Baseball will have its annual poultry party on Friday, November 16th, beginning at 7:30 PM at the Plato Community Hall (120 1st Street NE). Prizes for the night are hams, turkeys, pork chops and steaks. Hamburgers, chips, candy and beverages will be served while you play.

    1. November 17 Fundraiser for Sibley (County) Special Olympics
      9:30 am – 10:30 am

      The Sibley (County) Sonics Special Olympics MN delegation is hosting an Open House Scentsy Party on Saturday, November 17th, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (101 West Chandler) in Arlington from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Scentsy’s Charitable Cause Warmer for this season is Special Olympics. Each warmer sold will benefit no only the local delegation but also Special Olympics International. You may also go online and place your order at  https://barbarab.scentsy.us, then look for Sibley Sonics in the list of parties. Proceeds will help provide more sports for Sibley County Special Olympians and take athletes to the Minnesota Special Olympics Competitions.

    2. November 17 BL Lions Dad’s Belgian Waffle Benefit Brunch
      10:00 am – 1:00 pm

      The Buffalo Lake Lions Club is sponsoring a Dad’s Belgian Waffle Benefit Brunch on Saturday, November 17th. The benefit will be at the Buffalo Lake Community Center (203 Main Street North) from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The cost is a free will offering, with proceeds benefiting college student Aryel Smith, who lost both of her parents to cancer this year, and to the Renville County Food Shelf which is recovering from a fire earlier this year.

    3. November 17 Benefit for Kelly (Bahr) Buechler
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      The Litchfield VFW (915 Highway 12 East) will host a benefit for Kelly (Bahr) Buechler on Saturday, November 17th, beginning at 2:00 PM. Kelly was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2008 and was in remission until this spring when the cancer returned affecting her liver and abdomen. She will be undergoing extensive treatment and proceeds from the benefit will help the family with its financial burden. The benefit will include a spaghetti dinner (beginning at 2:00 PM… $8.00 per ticket), raffles, bake sale, face painting and entertainment with Tasz begining at 8:00 PM.
