  1. Sep

    1. Fall Firearms Safety Class
      6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Gopher Campfire Club is holding their Fall Firearms Safety Class starting Sept. 1st from 6-9 pm. The class is open to Boys and Girls ages 11 and older. Class size is limited so sign up early. Cost is $15, half to Gopher Campfire, the other half to the MN DNR. Must attend all three classes to get certified. Reserve a spot by emailing Brian at schmelingoil@gmail.com

    2. Tackle Cancer Game
      7:00 pm – 9:15 pm

      The Hutchinson HS Football Team is hosting Tackle Cancer Night for their Season Opener, Thursday, Sept. 1st at home vs. Becker. Enjoy a Phoenix Drumline Performance at halftime, and other activities benefitting the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund.

      3:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Dassel has their Ice Cream Social on Saturday, Sept. 3rd after the Red Rooster Days Parade. Get a BBQ Sandwich, Chips, Pie, Ice Cream and beverage for a free will offering. Everyone is welcome!

      2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      The Sew Friendly Quilt Guild is hosting their 2016 Quit Show at the Dassel Covenant Church on Sunday, Sept 4th from 2-5 pm and Monday, Sept. 5th from 9a-5p. See over 100 Quilts displayed, Demonstrations, Craft Corners and more!

      The annual Lions Pork Chop Dinner from the Cedar Mills Lions is on Friday, Sept. 16th from 5-7:30p at the Cedar Mills Gun Club. Music by the Detour Band from 7-10 pm.

    1. Turkey Supper
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector is having their 18th annual Turkey Supper on Wednesday, Sept. 7th serving from 4-7 pm. Take Outs available. Menu includes Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Coleslaw and more. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 4-10, and a $45 maximum per family.

    2. Food For Kidz Packing
      4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

      There is a Food for Kidz Packaging Event on Wednesday, September 7 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. The Event open to everyone of all ages. You will Work as teams in packaging nutritious meals for hungry children and their families. A light lunch is provided during the event. Come at any time and stay as long as you want.

      The next meeting of Today’s Women of Hutchinson is Thursday, Sept 8th at Harmony River in Hutchinson, starting at 6:30 pm. Anyone interested in joining is invited for a “Meet and Greet”.

      8:00 am – 4:00 pm

      The Heart of MN Animal Shelter is holding a Rummage, Bake, and Book Sale on Friday, Sept 9th and Saturday, Sept 10th. Hours Friday 8a-5p, and Saturday 8a-4p.

    1. Patriotic Pancake Breakfast
      9:00 am – 11:00 am

      The Renville County Historical Society is hosting their 2nd annual Patriotic Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 10th from 9-11 am at the Museum Grounds in Morton. Free Will Donations go to the Museum and the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon group of Renville County. The Museum will also feature an open house with free admission that day from 10a-4p.  

    2. Outdoors Event
      10:00 am – 1:00 pm

      A special event for those who love the outdoors will be held at the Gopher Campfire Club onSaturday, September 10th from 10:00  am to 1:00 pm.  The event is an outreach of area Churches and the Christian Deer Hunters Association that includes an Annie Oakley Shoot, a Pistol range, as well as Little Crow Archery will be there with 3D targets. Cost for the day which includes door prizes, a guest speaker,  and lunch is only $10 ($15 day of the event) age 17 and under free with an adult.  For more information contact Mike Graham (320)552-1735 or Randy Forcier (612)418-5326.

    3. St. Anastasia’s Fall Festival
      10:30 am – 4:00 pm

      St. Anastasia’s Fall Festival is coming up Sept. 10th and 11th in Hutchinson. Saturday it’s Mass at 4:30 pm, Outdoor Social at 5:30 pm with Food, Music, Store, Auctions and more. Sunday it’s a Polka Mass at 10:30 am, Chicken Dinner from 11a-2p ($10 for adults $5 for Kids 10 and under, 4 and under free), and Festival from 11a-4p. At the Festival is Food and Entertainment, Games, Raffles, Book and Media Sale, Bingo and more.  

    4. Antique Iron Run
      11:30 am – 1:00 pm

      The 5th annual Antique Iron Run is coming up on September 10th, leaving at 11:30 am from the Eagles Club in Litchfield. The Run is for all motorcycles, but ones 1983 and older will lead the ride. Prizes are given out. Any questions contact Richard at 320-295-1017.

    5. Central MN Sportsmans Alliance
      3:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      The 5th annual Central MN Sportsman’s Alliance Chapter of CPA has their banquet on Saturday, Sept 10th at the Brownton Community Center. Doors open at 3:30 pm, Dinner at 6 pm.       St. Ignatius Parish of Annandale is having their Festival on Saturday, September 10, Starting with a Polka Mass at 4 p.m. followed by a German Dinner, Bingo, Bake Sale, Cake Walk,  Games for the kids and Cash Raffle $20.00 a chance.

      5:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Sons of Norway invite you to a Hobo Soup Supper to learn the Tips and Tricks for Traveling to Scandinavia presented by Cliff and Bonnie Eng on Saturday, September 10th at 5:30p at CrossPoint Church in Hutchinson.     1. Pork Chop Dinner
      9:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany is having their Annual Pork Chop Dinner & Silent Auction on Sunday, Sept 11th at the St. Mark Fellowship Center (school building).  An outdoor PolkaFest Church Service begins at 9:00am with music by the Polka Sons of Praise.  The Pork Chop Dinner & Silent Auction runs from 10:00-1:00pm.  Tickets for the dinner are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-11.

    2. Pork Chop Dinner
      10:30 am – 12:30 pm

      Grace Lutheran Church of Brownton has their Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept 11th from 10:30a-12:30p, Servubg Smoked Pork Chops, Hot Dogs, Scalloped Potatoes, Carrots and more. Adults are $12 (extra chop for $5), Children 12 and under are $6 for a pork chop meal or $4 for a hot dog meal, Preschool age is free. Drive up meals are available.

    3. Barn Dance
      1:00 pm – 5:30 pm

      It’s the 7th annual Barn Dance on Sunday, Sept. 11th from 1-5:30 pm at the Wilbert Hahn Farm of Brownton. Music by George’s Concertina Band, Silent Auction, Food and Beverages, and more! The event is a fundraiser for the South African Misson of Immanuel Lutheran Church of New Auburn and the Food Shelves in Sibley and Mcleod Counties.  

    4. Hunting Seminar
      1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      Grace Bible Church of Silver Lake will be hosting a special Outdoor Club Meeting on Sunday, September 11th, at 1:00 pm at the church.  This free informal get-together titled Bow Hunting 101 will include the sharing of bow hunting tips by Jim Richardson, and Dr. Tom Rakow. Neither would claim to be  experts, but have spent a considerable amount of time in the field. Jim is a level two archery instructor who has been hunting with a compound for over 25 years, and Rakow with either a recurve or longbow for about 45 years.  Bow Hunting 101 is especially designed for the person that wants to know how to get started bow hunting, or pick up some helpful hunting tips with regard to scouting, stalking, stand placement, and more. In addition, Richard McConnell will give a brief introduction to hunting with a crossbow.  The seminar will last about 1 1/2 hours and includes: a brief devotional time, presentation on the topic, a time for input, questions, and door prizes. Anyone any age is invited to attend, and there is no charge.

      The Church of the Holy Family in Silver Lake is holding a Blue Mass to celebrate and honor those who assist us in times of emergencies. The Mass will be Monday, Sept. 12th at 7 pm. Personnel from the Ambulance, EMT, Fire and Rescue, Military, Auxiliary, and Police are invited to attend in uniform.

      The Brownton Congregational Church will hold their Community Dinner on Wednesday, September 14th from 5-7 pm with a free will offering. The Dinner is hosted the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

    2. Oktoberfest in September
      5:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      You’re invited to Oktoberfest in September on Wednesday, Sept. 14th at the Brownton Community Center. Food served at 5:30 pm…Brats and Kraut, German Potato Salad, Beer, and more. Music by George’s Concertina Band from 6-8 pm.

      8:00 am – 6:00 pm

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hollywood is putting on a Rummage Sale Sept. 15-17th at their church basement. Hours Thursday and Friday are 8a-6p, and Saturday is 8a-1p. Saturday is Bag Day, fill a bag for only $5. Also serving sloppy joes and hot dogs.

      The Glencoe VFW is sponsoring the Fluff and Puff Pillow Cleaning Service on Friday, Sept. 16th from 7a-3p at the VFW in Glencoe.  

    2. Salad Luncheon
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      You’re invited to a Salad Luncheon on Friday, Sept. 16th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Brownton. The Church is serving assorted salads from 11a-1p. Cost is $8.  

    3. Turkey Dinner
      4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

      The First Presbyterian Church of Howard Lake is holding a Turkey Dinner on Friday, Sept. 16th from 4:30-7:30 pm. Adults are $12, Children 5-12 are $5. Also don’t forget to shop the Bake Sale and Country Store. More info is at firstpreshl.org

      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      Peace Lutheran Church of Hutchinson is celebrating 125 years on September 17th and 18th. On Saturday, Chuck Thiel and the Jolly Ramblers perform from 5-7 pm, along with a Hog Roast and a Polka Service. On Sunday, the 125th anniversary service is at 10:30 am, Celebration Dinner from 10:30-12:30 p (ticket deadline for CD is Sept. 8)
