    1. Hutch Head Start Open House
      1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      Hutchinson Head Start’s Fall Registration Open House is coming up on Tuesday, April 15th from 1-5 pm at their site on Highway 15 North.  You can register your child for early Head start (birth to age 3) or Head Start (ages 3-5) for the 2014-15 school year.  Meet the staff, ask questions, and learn about head start.  Any questions call 234-6306.

    2. Caregiver Support Group
      1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

      The next Caregiver Support Group at Renville County Hospital in Olivia will be Tuesday, April 15th from 1:30-3 pm in the Willette Room.  Guest this month is Stacie Roxberg, LSW from Golden Living Center in Olivia.  The group will focus on Caregiving and Alzheimers.  All are welcome

    1. Spring Firearms Safety Class
      6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Gopher Campfire Club is holding their Spring Firearms Safety Class.  The Class dates are April 17th (6-9 pm), April 26th (8a-5p, lunch provided), and April 27th (12:30-5 pm).  Attendance at all three classes are required.  Cost is $15, $7.50 to Gopher Campfire and $7.50 to the state of MN upon completion.  Participants must be 11 years of age or older, and a parent or guardian must accompany minors.  Reservations are required, class size is limited.  To register contact Brian at schmloil@hutchtel.net

    2. The Masters Voice in Concert
      6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Litchfield Nazarene Church presents Southern Gospel group “The Master’s Voice” on Thursday, April17th at 6:30 pm.  Admission is a free will offering.

    1. Oaks and Pines Easter Egg Hunt
      10:00 am – 11:00 am

      Join the ECUMEN Oaks and Pines for their annual easter egg hunt on Friday, April 18th at 10 am.  Kids 10 and younger are invited (must be accompanied by an adult). Bring your easter baskets! New this year each child gets a goody bag (while supplies last).  Plus kids can grab a photo with the easter bunny!  Photos at the Pines from 10:15-10:30 am, at the Oaks from 10:30-10:45.

    1. Brownton Easter Egg Hunt
      10:00 am – 11:00 am

      The Brownton Womens Club invites you to their Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 19th starting at 10 am at the Brownton Community Center.  The Hunt is open to kids ages toddler to 3rd grade.  Bring your own baskets, treat bags and prizes will be given, plus take a photo with the easter bunny or live bunnies.  Free Admission, Refreshments are served.

    2. Reality Easter
      1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      Grace Lutheran Church of Hutchinson is having their Reality Easter on Saturday, April 19th from 1-4 pm.  Experience the Easter Story through live dramatizations.  There will be 25 minute presentations during the hours, come anytime between 1 and 4 for the show.

    1. Monthly Pancake Brunch
      9:00 am – 12:30 pm

      The Cedar Mills Rod and Gun Club is holding their monthly pancake brunch on April 20th from 9a-12:30p.  On the menu is regular and potato pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, and more!  Adults are $8, Kids aged 6-12 are $4, and 5 and under are free.

      The Bloodmobile will be in Plato on Tuesday, April 22nd from 1-7pm at Cross Roads West.  For an appointment you can call Ken or Myra at 238-2370.

    2. Dassel Concert
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Dassel History Center is hosting internationally acclaimed musician Lauren Pelon in Concert on Tuesday, April 22nd.  The concert starts at 7 pm.  Pelon is known for her “earth tones”, and will perform 20 selections on ancient and modern wind, string and free reed instruments.  The concert is free of charge.

    1. Pulled Pork and German Potato Salad Dinner
      4:30 pm – 6:30 pm

      St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector is holding their Pulled Pork and German Potato Salad Supper on Wednesday, April 23rd from 4:30-6:30 pm in the church hall.  Cost is $5, (extra sandwich is $1), and take outs are available.  Everyone is welcome!

    1. Cub Scouts collecting food for food shelf
      6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Hutchinson Cub Scout pack 246 and Boy Scout Troops will be collecting food for the Mcleod Emergency Food Shelf door to door in Hutchinson on Thursday, April 24th from 6-8 pm.

    1. Dassel Fish Fry
      11:30 am – 7:00 pm

      The Dassel Rod and Gun Club is having their Spring Fish Fry on Friday, April 25th serving from 11:30a-7 pm at their club on Lake Washington at Sportsmens Park.  Adults are $10, under 12 is $5.

    1. Glencoe Food Drive
      8:00 am – 9:00 am

      Glencoe Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts are teaming up to collect food for the McLeod Emergency Food Shelf this Saturday, April 26th.  Please place non-perishable food items in a bag and place it outside on your doorstep by 9 am Saturday morning for the Scouts to pick up.  This includes the city of Glencoe.  If you are missed during the pick up, please drop your donation off at the Food Shelf in Glencoe.

    2. Gustafson Benefit
      2:00 pm – 11:00 pm

      You are invited to the Misty Gustafson family benefit on Saturday, April 26th at the VFW in Hutchinson.  There will be a 2 pm bean bag tournament, Dinner from 4:30-6:30 pm, Silent Auction at 7 pm, and Live Music at 8 pm.  Misty is fighting stage 4 breast cancer, for info go to their caring bridge page.

    3. Whitcomb benefit
      3:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      You are invited to a benefit for Sue Whitcomb on Saturday, April 26th at the Atwater Community Center from 3-7 pm.  Enjoy Hot Dogs and Hamburgers, Silent Auction, and a live auction .  Cost is a free will donation for the meal.  Funds raised will help with Sue’s medial needs as she fights Pancreatic and Liver Cancer.

    1. Our Saviors Auction
      9:00 am – 1:00 pm

      Our Savior Lutheran Schools annual Auction is coming up on Sunday, April 27th at the Church in Hutchinson.  The Bake Sale runs from 9 am until gone, Lunch served from 11 am -12:30 pm (Free Will donation for lunch), Silent Auction from 9 am – 1 pm, and Live Auction starting at 12:30 pm.  

    2. Pancake Breakfast in Annandale
      9:00 am – 1:00 pm

      Minnesota Pioneer Park in Annandale is hosting their 37th annual Maple Syrup Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, April 27th.  Serving from 9a-1p at the Park.  The meal includes Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Homemade Doughnuts, and Beverage.  Adults are $8, Child 4-12 is $4, under 4 is free.

    3. Stewart Polka Worship and German Dinner
      10:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Stewart is having their Polka Worship and German Dinner on Sunday, April 27th.  Worship is at 10 am featuring the Wendinger Band, Dinner is from 11 am – 1 pm.  On the menu: German Potato Salad, Scalloped Potatoes, Brats and Meatballs, Glazed Carrots, Sauerkraut, Bread , Bars, and Beverage.  Cost is just a free will donation.  

    4. St. John’s Pork Chop Dinner
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. John’s of Winsted is having their Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, April 27th from 11a-1p at the church.  Worship with Music from Chuck Thiel and the Jolly Ramblers starts at 10 am, Free Will Donation Meal starts at 11 am.  On the menu is Pork Chops, Hot Dogs, Cheesy Potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, Bread, Dessert and Beverage.  Take Outs available behind the church.  

    5. Author Program
      2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      Heart of Hutch is hosting an author program for their Community Book Read on Sunday, April 27th from 2-4 pm at the Hutchinson Event Center.  The book chosen for the Community Book Read is “Orphan Train”, author Christina Baker Kline will speak during the program.  The event is free and open to the public.

    1. Howard Lake Bloodmobile
      1:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Howard Lake at the St.James Lutheran School from 1-7 pm.  You must be 17 years of age or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health to donate.

    2. Mcleod County Legion Meeting
      7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      A meeting of The McLeod County Council of the American Legion and Auxiliary will be held on Tuesday, May 29th at 7:30 PM at the Hutchinson American Legion, Post 96.

    1. National Day of Prayer
      8:00 am – 7:00 pm

      Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson welcomes anyone to their church for national day of prayer on May 1st.  The sanctuary will be open from 8 am – 7 pm and set up for prayer and bible reading.

    2. St. Pius X Salad Luncheon
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Pius X  in Glencoe is hosting their Salad Luncheon on Thursday, May 1st from 11a-1p.  Advance tickets are $7, $8 at the door, Children under 12 are free.  Express Take Outs available.

      The Glencoe VFW Auxiliary is sponsoring a Pillow Cleaning on Friday, May 2nd from 7a-3p at the VFW Club in Glencoe.  Clean, Deoderize, Santize, and Fluff your pillows!.  

    2. Breast Cancer Benefit Sale
      4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Mark your caledars for this vendor sale benefitting the Breast Cancer 3 day, for Susan G Komen for a Cure.  The sale will be May 2nd and 3rd at Gert and Erma’s Coffee Shop in Glencoe.  Friday hours are 4-8 pm, and Saturday hours are 9a-3p.  There will be generous hosts from Chloe + Isabel, Mary Kay, kikaPaprika, Tastefully Simple,Tupperware, Dove Chocolate Discoveries, The Pampered Chef, Norwex, dōTerra, Miche, PartyLite, Clever Container & Ms. Teria’s.

    3. Raise a glass, Raise a roof Fundraiser
      6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The next raise a glass, raise a roof fundraiser for Crow River Habitat for Humanity will be Friday, May 2nd at the Crow River Golf Club in Hutchinson.  Doors open at 6 pm, featuring a wine and beer pull, silent and live auctions.  Tickets are $40 and available at the Habitat Office.  

    4. Family Gospel Concert
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      The DC Performing Arts Center presents an evening of family bluegrass and gospel on Friday, May 2nd at 7 pm.  Admission is a free will donation to hear: The Froemming Family, The Jorgenson Family, The Berge Family, The Mahlstedt Family, The Ophoven Family, along with Allan and Michael Carlson.
