    1. Benefit for Play Park
      8:15 am – 9:15 am

      You’re invited to a benefit for the Inclusive Play Park in Hutchinson on Saturday, Jan 9th. Serving a Prime Rib Dinner at the Elks Lodge in Hutchinson. Cost is $19.25 for the meal. Tickets must be purchased by Wednesday at the Elks Lodge or by calling 587-3116. All proceeds benefit the Park.

      The Phoenix Drumline is holding their Fundraiser Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Jan 10th at the Elks Lodge in Hutchinson. Serving from 8a-Noon, all you can eat Pancakes, Eggs, Ham, Sausage and more. Cost is $7.  

    2. Art Contest
      10:15 am – 11:15 am

      Calling all Artists! Submit your artwork for the 2016 Winter Artisan Showcase from the South Central Artisans and the Hutchinson Center for the Arts. Entries are due January 10th, and can come in many categories: 2D Visual Art, Photo or Digital Art, Fiber Art, and 3D/Sculpture. Prizes awarded, more details at HutchinsonArts.org

    3. Les Kouba Gallery Reopening
      2:00 pm – 3:15 pm

      The Mcleod County Museum is holding their Grand Re-opening of the Les Kouba Art Gallery on Sunday, Jan 10th at 2 pm. Come see the new space!

    1. Child Sex Trafficking Event
      6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      You’re invited to a talk about Child Sex Trafficking on Tuesday, Jan 12th from 6:30-8:30 pm at Harmony River in Hutchinson. There will be a presentation and discussion on Sex Trafficking of youth in West Central MN, light refreshments are provided.

      The Brownton Congregational Church will hold their Community Dinner on Wednesday, Jan 13th from 5-7 pm with a free will offering. The Dinner is hosted the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

      The Mcleod Social Service Center is seeking nominations for the Professional Family Child Care Provider of the Year. Parents and Community Members are encouraged to nominate a licensed family child care professional who have had a positive impact on children and the community.     2. Pizza and Play Event
      10:30 am – 7:00 pm

      The GSL ECFE is having a Pizza and Play event on Friday, January 15th from 10:30-11:30 am AND 6-7 pm at the Learning Center in Glencoe. Ages 2-Kingergarten entry and their parents are welcome.       The Friends of High Island are holding their 4th annual Ice Fishing Contest on Saturday, Jan 16th. Registration at 9 am, Contest from 10a-2p. $5 entry fee, and Cash Prizes awarded for various fish categories.

      Hamburg Lions will be hosting there Annual Pancake Brunch on Sun. Jan. 17th, 8:30 – 12:30 at the Hamburg Community Hall, Hamburg, MN. Items served will be Pancakes, Sausages, Scrambled Eggs, Apple Sauce & Beverages. All proceeds will got to Hamburg Park Beautification Project.

    3. Soup Sale
      8:30 am – 12:00 pm

      The next sale of Bouja and Chicken Noodle Soup at St. Anthony’s Church in Watkins will be Sunday, Jan 17th from 8:30-Noon. Bouja is $13/gallon, Chicken Noodles is $12/gallon. You can preorder by calling Larry at 320-764-2965.

      The Winsted VFW  is having their annual Chili Feed on Saturday, Jan 23rd at the Winsted Legion from 4-7 pm.  Tickets are $8 in advance,$9 at the door, and Kids 10 and under are $4.

      St. John’s Catholic Church of Hector is having their annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Jan 24th from 9a-Noon. Serving Pancakes, French Toast, Ham and Eggs, Applesauce and Beverage. Cost is $7.50 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-10, and 4 and under free. Everyone is invited.

    1. Singing Friends Chorus
      7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Singing Friends Chorus has begun rehearsing for its 2016 spring concert.  Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm, at All Saints Lutheran Church, NYA.  Prospective new members of all voice parts are invited to attend.  Now in its 12th year, the Chorus is an all-volunteer, all-ages 30-voice SATB ensemble with members from McLeod, Carver, Sibley and Meeker Counties.  For more info, please come to the open rehearsal on January 26, or call director Karen de Boer at 320-864-2742.

      The Kingston Apostolic Lutheran Church invites you to their Spaghetti Supper on Friday, Jan 29th from 5-7 pm at the Church. Serving Spaghetti or Alfredo, with Garlic Bread, Salad, and more. Proceeds benefit the building fund.

Proceeds benefit Jeremy Thiel (son of Chuck). There will also be for sale shirts, bracelets, and a raffle drawing. Advance Tickets appreciated, but Tickets are also sold at the door.     1. Beekeeper Scholarship
      10:30 am – 11:30 am

      The Crow River Beekeepers have a scholarship available for youth looking to be a new beekeeper. Applicants should be between 12-18 years old and the parents cannot currently own bees. Applications must be postmarked before February 1st and sent to Wayne Rusch, 22094 Yacht Ave, Hutchinson, MN 55350. Scholarship will include Bees, Woodenware, Protective Clothing, and a Mentor. Applicants need to write a short essay saying why you want to become a beekeeper, what you expect to learn, and why bees are important.  

    2. Pancake and Bratwurst Dinner
      10:30 am – 5:00 pm

      St. Peter Lutheran Church of Gibbon is holding their Pancake and Bratwurst Dinner on Sunday, Jan 31st from 10:30a-5p. All you can Eat for a Free will offering. Serving Rush River Maple Syrup, Egg Coffee, Dessert and more! You can also shop the Book Fair. Take Outs available.

    3. St. A’s School Open House
      11:30 am – 12:30 pm

      St. Anastasia School of Hutchinson is having an open house for Catholic Schools Week on Sunday, Jan 31st from 11:30a-12:30p. There will be tours of the school and teachers available to answer questions.

    4. Community Book Read and Program
      2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

      The Mcleod County Historical Museum is holding a program in conjunction with the Community Book Read program. The Book is “Canoeing with the Cree” by Eric Sevareid. The Program will be Sunday, Jan 31st at 2 pm in the Museum’s Educational Center and will discuss the history of the Fur Trade and Fur Bearing Animals.

    1. National Legion Commander in Hutch
      8:00 am – 11:00 am

      The Hutchinson American Legion welcomes National Commander Dale Barnett on Wednesday, Feb 3rd at 8 am at the VFW Post 906. All you can eat Breakfast will be served for $10 with Biscuits and Gravy, Omelets, Sausage, Ham, Apple Pancakes and more. For Reservations call 587-2665.

    2. Turkey Supper
      4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

      The Zion United Methodist Church of Buffalo Lake is holding their Turkey Supper on Wednesday, Feb 3rd from 4:30-7:30 pm. Eat in or take out meals available. Tickets are $9 in advance, $10 at the door, $5 for 5-11 yrs old, and preschool age is free.

    3. Winter Walk for Peace
      6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      St. Anastasia Catholic Church is having a Winter Walk for Peace on Wednesday, Feb 3rd starting at 6:30 pm in their School Gymnasium. The event is open to everyone and will end in the Church for a Prayer service. Hot Chocolate and Cookies are served.

      Mcleod for Tomorrow presents their annual Winterfest on Saturday, Feb 6th from 10a-4p at the Mcleod County Fairgrounds in Hutchinson. There will be dogsled rides, Alpacas, Elsa-Anna-Olaf from Frozen, Ice Skating, Snow Golf, Snowmobile Rides, Horse Carriage Rides, and more! Food and Beverages available for purchase.

      The First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glencoe is having their Potato Pancake and Sausage Dinner on Sunday, Feb 7th from 9a-3p in the church’s Fellowship Center. All you can eat Regular and Potato Pancakes, Sausage, Applesauce, and more. Adults are $10, Ages 4-12 are $5, and under three are free. Take out orders available.
