  1. Aug

    1. Plato Lions Golf Tournament
      11:00 am – 7:00 pm

      The Plato Lions encourage you and three of your golfing friends to form a team for their golf tournament, scheduled for Monday, August 11th, at the Glencoe Country Club.  The four person  scramble format will begin at 1:00 PM with a shot gun start.  Registration will start at 11:00 AM.  The cost is $40.00 per person for Glencoe Country Club members using their own carts, $50.00 per person for Glencoe Country Club members using the golf course’s carts, or $60.00 per person for non-members.  Registration fees after August 4th will be $10.00 more per foursome.  To register, contact Ron at 320-238-2285.  Proceeds will go to local Lions projects.

    2. Cokato Corn Carnival Book Sale
      2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      The annual Cokato Corn Carnival Book Sale is going on Monday and Tuesday, Aug 11/12 in the Cokato Library.  Hundreds of books at great prices!  Proceeds benefit the library.  

    3. 600 Club Meeting
      5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Hutchinson Womens’ 600 Club will have their fall meeting on Monday, Aug 11th at 5:30 pm at Squeaky’s Bar and Grill.  The agenda includes the upcoming fall tournaments.

    1. Cosmos Senior Dance
      1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

      The Cosmos Legion is having their next Senior Dance on Wednesday, Aug 13th from 1:30-4:30 pm.  Music is by Marie and the Good Ol’ Boys.

    1. Benefit Softball Tournament
      8:30 am – 8:00 pm

      You are invited to participate in a Luck of the Draw Benefit CO-ED Softball Tournament on Saturday, August 16th at Oak Leaf Park in Glencoe.  Cost is $10 per person.  All Participants will have their names put into a hat and teams randomly drawn out.  A silent auction and bake sale is a part of the festivities as well.  All proceeds benefit Joyce Teubert and her battle with cancer.  Contact Lisa @ 320-420-2622 or Sandie @ 320-469-4405 for registration or Q’s.   All participants must be signed up before the start of the tourney.

    1. St. Andrew’s Fun Fest
      9:30 am – 4:00 pm

      Come and Join the fun at St. Andrew’s Fun Fest on Sunday, Aug 17th in Fairfax.  Mass at 9:30 am with music by Harry Wojohn and Deb Nelson.  Chicken Dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, beans, salad, and dessert is served from 10:30-1 pm  Adults are $10, Children (5-10) are $5, under 5 are free.  Enjoy afternoon music by Juice Belly, Cash Raffle, Games for all age, Quilt raffle, Country Store, Bingo, Food Stand and more on the church grounds from 10:30-4 pm.  Everyone is welcome!

    2. St. John’s Pork Chop Dinner
      9:30 am – 2:00 pm

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hollywood is having their 28th annual Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, August 17th.  A contemporary worship service starts at 9:30 am, Serving from 11a-2p.  Advance Tickets are $10 for 12 years and older ($11 at the door), Children 5-11 are $5, and under 4 is free.  On the menu is Pork Chops, Scalloped Potatoes, Sauerkraut, Corn, Cole Slaw, and more!  

    3. Bluegrass and Fiddlers Festival
      10:00 am – 4:00 pm

      On Sunday, August 17, Minnesota Pioneer Park in Annandale will hold it’s 37th Annual Fiddlers’ & Bluegrass Festival Fund Raiser with Pork Chop Dinner and concessions available. This year Nashville Recording Artists “The High 48′s” Bluegrass Band will be the featured performers and will be hosting workshops starting at 10 a.m.Their concert begins at 12 noon and Fiddle contest approximately 2 p.m. The fee for the workshops is $10.00 and gate admissions is $10.00.     4. St. Ignatius Parish Festival
      10:30 am – 4:00 pm

      St. Ignatius Parish Festival will be held on Sunday, August 17 beginning with a Polka Mass at 10:30 a.m. A Chicken Dinner served from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The Festival will take place from 11:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and will include a silent auction, various raffles, Bingo and games for all ages. Big Ticket Raffle drawing to be held following the Festival.

    1. Silver Lake City Wide Sales
      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      Silver Lake is having their City Wide Garage Sales Thursday-Saturday (Aug 21-23).  Thursday and Friday hours are 8a-5p, Saturday is 8a-Noon.  Many Sales, watch for the signs.  

    2. Treasure Trek
      8:00 am – 5:00 pm

      The 10th annual Tresure Trek along Highway 212 will be Aug 21-23 from 8a-5p each day.  Sales and many other stops along the road from Chaska to Glencoe.  Don’t miss the fun!

    3. Dassel Red Rooster Days
      2:15 pm – 3:15 pm

      Dassel welcomes you to Red Rooster Days August 29th-September 1st!  

      Events on Friday include the Farmers Market and Movie in the Park “The Wizard of Oz:

      Events on Saturday, Aug 30th: Bike Ride, Program at the Dassel History Center, Bean Bag Tournament, Arts Show, Grand Day Parade at 3 pm, BBQ and Ice CreamSocial, Ambassador Coronation, and Street Dance

      Events on Sunday, Aug 31st: Community Worship Service, Lunch at Church Social Hall, MN Minn-E-Rods, Fine Arts Show, Quilt Show, Brat Feed, and Community Hymn Sing, and Fireworks at Spring Lake Park

      Events on Monday, Sept 1st: Run/Walk, Dassel History Center Open, Fine Arts Show, Classic Car and Antique Show, Golden Egg Hunt, Music, Kids Pedal Pull, Quilt Show, and the Largest Chicken BBQ in the State!

    4. Football Kick Off Party
      5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      The Hutchinson High School Football Team invites you to their Kick off Party on Thursday, Aug 21st at 5 pm at the High School Football Field.  A Hamburger meal will be served for $5, and tshirts and wristbands will be for sale.  Meet the coaches and the team and take some photos also!

      St. Anastasia’s White Elephant Sale is going on Friday and Sautrday (Aug 22/23) at the school gym in Hutchinson.  On the Sale, Furniture, Household items, Yard and garden items, Toys, Games, Collectables, Books andmore.  No Clothes.  

    2. Ice Cream Social in Darwin
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      All Saints Lutheran Church of Darwin is holding their annual Ice Cream Social on Friday, Aug 22nd from 4-7 pm.  Serving Sandwiches, Salads, Pie, Ice Cream and Beverages.  Cost is $6.50 for Adults, $4 for Children, and $2.50 for Pie only.  Proceeds go toward a handicap lift at the church.

    3. Old Fashioned Tent Revival
      6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      Oak Heights Covenant Church is hosting their annual Old Fashioned Tent Revival Friday-Sunday (Aug 22, 23, 24).  On Friday, Aug 22 from 6-8 pm see the BASICS, hear personal testimonies, and see the video “The Richest Caveman.  On Saturday, Aug 23rd from 6-8 pm the guest speaker is Pastor Brian Alnes of Lake Beauty Camp, Music from Pastor Adam Krumrie, and more personal testimonies.  And on Sunday, Aug 24th from 6-8:30 pm hear music from the Chancellors Quartet.  Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

      2:15 pm – 1:00 am

      You are invited to a benefit for the Petit Family in Howard Lake at the Legion on Saturday, Aug 23rd.  The day starts off with a 5K Walk at 9 am, Bean Bag Tournament at Noon ($20 per team), Silent Auction from 4-7 pm, Spaghetti Lunch from Noon-5 pm ($8 for lunch), and Entertainment by DJ DK from 3 pm – 1 am.  For more info or to register/donate contact Stephanie at 763-670-9650.

    1. Penn Fest
      10:30 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church is hosting their Penn Fest on Sunday, Aug 24th at the Brownton Community Center.  Worship Service at 10:30 am, Pork Chop Dinner served from 11:30a-1p.  On the menu is Smoked Pork Chops, Mashed Potatoes, Cole Slaw, Veggies and more.  Adults are $11, Children 10 and under are $6, and a extra chop is $5.  

    2. Fish Boil
      11:30 am – 1:00 pm

      First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe is hosting their 5th annual Fish Boil Dinner on Sunday, Aug 24th from 11:30a-1p in the church’s fellowship center.  On the menu is Fish, tartar sauce, potatoes, coleslaw, bread, dessert, and a beverage.  Price is a free will donation.  All proceeds will go to the Orphan Grain Train.  

    3. Lickfelt benefit
      11:30 am – 3:30 pm

      You’re invited to a benefit for the Lickfelt family on Sunday, Aug. 24th from 11:30a-3:30p at Peace Lutheran Church.  A spaghetti Dinner will be served ($7 adults, $3 Kids 10 and under), you can bid on the silent auction, take a chance on the quilt raffle, and shop the bake sale or vendor fair.  Miranda Lickfelt had been battling Cancer, before passing away.  The Benefit will help her family cover medical expenses occurred.

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Annandale is having their Garden Salad and Hotdish Luncheon on Wednesday, Aug 27th from 11a-1p.  Tickets at the door are $8 for adults, and $3 for children 10 and younger.  Take outs available.

    1. 150th Anniversary for Immanuel Lutheran Church
      2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

      Immanuel Lutheran Church of Hutchinson is hosting their 150th Anniversary Celebration on Aug 30 and 31st.  Events on Saturday include: Walking Cemetery Tour, Games, Music by the Detour Band, Lunch, and Devotions.  On Sunday come back for a special worship service, catered meal (advance ticket required), balloon release, and a festival worship service.

      9:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Cosmos Legion is hosting a breakfast buffet on Sunday, Aug 31st from 9a-Noon.  Free Will Donation gets you: French Toast, Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Hashbrowns and more!  Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase new American Flags.

      St. John’s Catholic Church of Hector is having their annual Turkey Supper on Wed., Sept. 3rd from 4-7 pm.  Take outs available.  Menu includes: Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes and gravy, corn, coleslaw, cranberries, bread, ice cream, and a beverage.  Cost is $9.50 for adults, $4 for children 4-10.

    1. GSL ECFE Open House
      9:00 am – 7:30 pm

      Glencoe-Silver Lake Public Schools is having their Early Childhood and Family Education Open House and Playground Grand Opening.  The event will be on Thursday, September 4 from 9-11:30 am and 5-7:30 pm at the GSL Early Childhood Learning Center in Glencoe.   You can register for fall ECFE classes, meet the staff, play in the classrooms and indoor motor area, visit the ECFE library, and check out their new outdoor playground.   There will also be snacks and a chance to win door prizes.

    2. Firearms Safety
      6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Gopher Campfire is hosting their Firearms Safety class on September 4, 8, 11, and 15th.  The class is open to anyone 12 years of age and older and runs from 6-9 pm each night.  You must attend all of the session to pass the class.  Cost is $15, class size is limited and registration is required.  For Q’s or to register call 587-3153

    3. Today’s Women of Hutchinson Meeting
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Today’s women of Huthinson will hold their next meeting on Thursday, Sept. 4th at the Hutchinson Public Library.  Meeting begins at 7 pm.

    1. Cruisin for a Cure
      9:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Cruisin for a Cure Motorcycle and Classic Car run will be Saturday, Sept, 6th.  Registration at 9 am, Wheels roll at 10:30 from Neisen’s Bar and Grill in Biscay.  Stops will be in Dassel, New Germany, and Stewart.  All money raised goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Q’s or Register contact Scott at 320-282-7817 or Steve at 320-583-3439

    2. Iron Run
      11:00 am – 5:00 pm

      The 3rd annual Antique Iron Run will be Saturday, Sept. 6th, leaving at 11 am from Kicker’s Bar and Grill in Litchfield.  No Registration, No Fee, just a Fun Run!  The Run is for Motorcycles from 1983 and older, but all bikes are welcome.  Prizes given for oldest bike, and furthest distance traveled.
