      Prairie Community Church of Lester Prairie has an Ice Cream Social on Sunday, June 26th from 10a-1p. Serving Hot Dogs, BBQ’s, Pie and Ice Cream.

      1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

      Enjoy a game of Beep Baseball in Glencoe on Sunday, June 26th starting at 1 pm next to Coborn’s Carwash. The Minnetonka Millers will play a team of Community members. Food available at noon.

      4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      You are invited to a benefit for the MN Brain Injury Force at Unhinged Pizza in Glencoe on Monday, June 27th. Lonesome Ron will perform, and a portion of buffet sales from 4-8 pm will be donated to MNBIF. Area Brain Injury Survivors will be receiving the Tips from the night.

      St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Hector has their Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, June 29th from 5-7 pm in the church’s Social Hall. Free Will Donations for BBQ’s, Turkey Sandwiches, Beans, Potato Salad…and Pie and Ice Cream.

      Glencoe presents music in the Park on Wednesday Nights this summer. Food Served at 6 pm, Music at 6:30 pm at Oak Leaf Park.       Peace Lutheran Church of Hutchinson presents their Summer Concert Series Wednesday’s at Noon at the Church. The Concerts are followed by a Salad Luncheon (for an $8 suggested donation).

      The Hutchinson Lions present a game of Beep Baseball on Saturday, July 9th at Roberts Park starting at 1 pm. The Minnesota Millers will play a team of local players in the game. Contributions will help visually impared athletes play the competitive sport of Beep Baseball and develop life skills.

      St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Green Isle has their Summer Salad Luncheon on Sunday, July 10th from 10:30a-1p. Serving a variety of salads for a free will offering. Proceeds to Mission Projects.

      6:30 pm – 9:15 pm

      Members and friends of the Grace Bible Church in Silver Lake invite kids ages 3 and up to Cave Quest Bible School to be held July 11-15 from 6:30—9:10pm.  Cave Quest is filled with Bible learning, crafts, team building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats. The cost for the entire week is $10.00 per child or $30.00 family maximum. There is also an adult class.  Grace Bible Church is located in Silver Lake at 300 Cleveland Street, next to the city water tower.       The Brownton Congregational Church will hold their Community Dinner on Wednesday, July 13th from 5-7 pm with a free will offering. The Dinner is hosted the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

      Grace LutheranChurch is holding a Wedding Dress Revue on Thursday, July 14th at 6:30 pm at the church in Brownton. See dresses from different eras. Coffee and Dessert will follow the program for a free will offering. 

    2. Winthrop Music in the Park
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      Music in the Winthrop city park is coming up on Thursday July 14th at 7:00.  Performing will be the Mary  Guentzel quintet featuring Myron Wolf on the saxophone.  Bring a lawn chair and come for an evening of fun. Refreshments available and prizes given.

      10:30 am – 12:00 pm

      Everyone is invited to attend the dedication of the Rollie Johnson Ecology site Kiosk on Friday, July 15th at 10:30 am in Roberts Park of Hutchinson. You’ll be able learn more about Hutch HS Science Teacher Rollie Johnson, visit with the family, and walk the Ecology Site Trail.

    2. Ice Cream Social

      All Saints Lutheran Church of Darwin presents their Annual Ice Cream Social on Friday, July 15th from 4-7 pm. Serving Ham and Beef Sandwiches, Salads, Pie, Ice Cream and Beverages. Adults are $7, Children are $4, and $2.50 for Pie and Ice Cream Only.  

    3. Pork Chop Dinner
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Grace Lutheran Church is serving their Pork Chop Dinner on Friday, July 15th from 4-7 pm at the Kingston Community Center. Dinner includes Pork Chop, Potato Salad, Beans, bread, brownie, ice cream and a beverage. Advance Tickets are $9, or $10 at the door. (Hot Dog Kids Meals are also available for $4)

      You are invited to shop the Arts and Crafts Fair at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Watertown on Saturday, July 16th from 9a-4p. See Local Artists, Crafters and Vendors.  

    2. Adoption Ride
      11:00 am – 6:00 pm

      The final adoption ride will take place Saturday, July 16th starting at Cactus Jacks in Stewart at 11 am. Ride ends at McCarthy Park in Watkins. Prizes are drawn at 6 pm with Music by Crimson Edge to follow. All Proceeds benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and Catholic Charities Adoption Services.       The Dassel Lakeside Care Center is hosting a 99 cents Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, July 17th from 9a-Noon in their Lakeside Apartments Dining Room.

    2. Chicken BBQ
      11:00 am – 7:00 pm

      The Edward Born Legion Post #343 of NYA will be hosting it’s 55th Annual Chicken BBQ on Sun. July 17th at the Legion Park located on the corner of Reform and Park St. in NYA. Serving begins at 11:00 and goes through 7:00, or until the chicken is gone. The menu includes: BBQ Chicken (quarter or half), Potato Salad, Baked Beans,Bread, Cake or Bars, milk and coffee.

      The Immanuel Lutheran School is holding a Fundraiser breakfast at the Mcleod County Fairgrounds during the Orange Spectacular July 22, 23, and 24th from 6:30-10a each morning. Serving Ham, Eggs, and all you can eat pancakes for $8.

    2. Ice Cream Social

      You are invited to an Ice Cream Social on Friday, July 22nd at St. John’s Education Center on Hwy 12 between Dassel and Cokato. Serving from 4:30-7:30 pm…BBQ’s, Potato Salad, Chips, Pie, Ice Cream and a Beverage. Cost is just a free will offering.

      Zion Lutheran Church of Buffalo Lake is holding their 2nd annual Golf Tournament and Auction on Sunday, July 31st. Register by July 24th. 4 person scramble at Oakdale Golf Course, 1 pm Registration, 2:30 pm Shotgun Start. Cost is $50, proceeds benefit the church improvement fund. 

    2. Winsted Fire Station Tour
      2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      The Mcleod County Historical Society is hosting a History Tour of the Winsted Fire Station on Sunday, July 24th from 2-4 pm at the station at 431 6th St. South in Winsted. More info at mcleodhistory.org

    1. Temporary Hours at HHW
      7:15 am – 8:00 am

      The McLeod County Household Hazardous Waste Facility will be OPEN on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays only (Closed on Tuesdays and Fridays) effective the week of July 25th due to minimal staffing. This change in operating hours is temporary and normal hours of operation will resume once the program is adequately staffed. The County apologizes for the inconvenience and disruption of services. If you need to utilize the HHW program on Tuesdays or Fridays, please call 320-484-4322 to set up an appointment.

    2. Welcome Night
      5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Plato Lions are having a Welcome Night on Monday, July 25th at the Plato Hall. Social at 5:30 pm, Free Dinner at 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome, the guest speaker for the night is Plato Mayor Bob Becker.
