    1. Lumbar River Quartet

      Peace Lutheran of Watertown presents the Lumbar River Quartet featuring Southern Gospel
      Music from Lumberton,NC on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 7:00 P.M.  Tickets are available at the door $10.00

    1. Brownton Legion Meeting
      7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Brownton American Legion Post and Auxiliary will be meeting on Monday, Oct. 12th at the Brownton Community Center starting at 7:30 pm.

    1. Corn Drive
      8:00 am – 3:00 pm

      The GSL FFA Annual Corn Drive for True Friends Camps will take place on October 14th.  Students will be traveling to local farms and businesses to collect donations to aid in providing scholarships to attend camp.  Last year GSL FFA raised $4,500.00 and was a top 10 chapter in the state of Minnesota. 

    2. St. A’s Rummage Sale
      8:00 am – 6:00 pm

      St. Anastasia Church of Hutchinson is holding their Rummage Sale Oct 14-16th at their school auditorium.  Most items are a quarter, Friday is $2 bag day, Winter Jackets are $1 each.  Many items too numerous to mention on the sale!  Hours are Wed/Thur 8a-6p, Fri is 8a-Noon.

    3. 3M Retiree Group
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      The 3M Retiree Group will meet for Lunch on Wed. Oct 14th at 11 am at Landy’s Lodge in Hutchinson.  

    4. Senior Dance
      1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

      The Next Senior Dance at the Cosmos Legion will be Wed. Oct 14th from 1:30-4:30 pm with Marie and the Boys.

    5. Turkey Dinner
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      Vineyard United Methodist Church of Hutchinson has their annual Turkey Dinner on Wednesday, Oct 14th from 4-7 pm.  Serving Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes and more!  Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for ages 4-10, under 4 is free.  Take Out Delivery is available (call 587-2200 for delivery).  Also shop the Country Store, Crafts, Baked Goods, and Produce Sale.

    1. Community Health Meeting
      9:00 am – 11:30 am

      Meeker-Mcleod-Sibley Community Health Services will hold its quarterly Community Health Board Meeting on Thursday, Oct 15th from 9-11:30 am.  The meeting is at the Mcleod County Soild Waste Management building in Hutchinson and is open to the public.

    2. Veterans Seminar
      9:00 am – 3:00 pm

      McLeod County Veteran Services will be hosting an information seminar focusing on benefits for individuals with military service in either the National Guard or the various military Reserves.  On Thursday, October 15th there will be four opportunities to attend a 45-minute seminar tailored specifically to Reserve Component and National Guard veterans.  The Seminars will be held in the morning at 9:00 or 11:00 AM and again in the afternoon at 1:00 or 3:00 PM at McLeod County’s Administrative Building on North Hennepin Avenue in Glencoe. Subjects covered during these seminars will include possible access to health care, financial assistance, home loan guarantees, death, burial and survivor benefits.For details contact Veteran Services at (320) 864-1268

    1. Rummage Sale
      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      First Congregational UCC of Hutchinson is having their Rummage Sale on Friday, Oct 16th from 8a-4p and Saturday, Oct 18th from 9-Noon.  Everything is 50 cents unless marked.   Saturday is $2 bag day.

    2. Facility Tour
      10:00 am – 4:00 pm

      Residents of Redwood and Renville Counties are invited to a guided tour of the newly constructed Material Recovery and Transfer Facility in Redwood Falls on Friday, Oct 16th.  Tours are held every half hour from 10a-4p.  

    3. Cosmos Legion Turkey Supper
      5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Cosmos Legion is having their Turkey Supper with all the trimmings on Friday, Oct 16th from 5-8 pm.  Cost is $10.

    1. Flapjack Fundraiser
      7:00 am – 10:00 am

      You’re invited to a flapjack fundraiser on Saturday, Oct 17th from 7a-10a at Applebee’s in Hutchinson.  Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12.  Proceeds go to Karla Yanish and medical bills.  Karla was injured recently in a motorcycle accident.  There is also a silent auction during the event.

    2. Chili and Soup Luncheon
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hollywood is having their Chili and Soup Luncheon and Bake Sale on Saturday, Oct 17th from 11a-1p.  Adults are $7, Children 5-12 are $3, under 4 is free. 

    3. Art and Costume Show
      11:30 am – 1:30 pm

      Fall into Fashion as the South Central Artisans present their Wearable Art and Costume Show on Saturday, Oct. 17th at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts from 11:30a-1:30p.  A Pasta Bar will be served and there will be a boutique during the event.  Tickets are $12 available online at Hutchinsonarts.org or by calling 587-7278.

      8:30 am – 12:00 pm

      St. Anthony’s Church of Watkins is having their sale of Bouja and Chicken Noodle Soup on Sunday, Oct 18th from 8:30a-Noon.  Bouja is $13/gallon, Chicken Noodle is $12/gallon.  You can preorder by calling Larry at 320-764-2965.  

    2. Maple Syrup Pancake Breakfast
      9:00 am – 1:00 pm

      MN Pioneer Park of Annandale invites you to their Maple Syrup Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Sunday, Oct 18th from 9a-1p.  Serving Eggs, Sausage, Juice…and their all you can eat Maple Syrup Pancakes.  Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children, under 3 eat free.

    3. Kingston Turkey Dinner
      11:00 am – 2:00 pm

      The Kingston Lions Club is holding their annual Turkey Dinner on Sunday, Oct 18th from 11a-2p at the Kingston Community Center.  Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-10.  Don’t forget to bring your used eyeglasses and hearing aids.

      The DC FFA is holding their Corn Drive on Tuesday, Oct 20th.   If anyone is interested in a monetary donation or letting the DC Chapter know where they are harvesting corn on Tuesday, they can contact Eric Sawatzke at 612-597-8413.  Proceeds go to Camp Courage.

      Hutchinson Unit 96 of the American Legion Auxiliary will meet on Wednesday, Oct 21st at 7 pm at the Hutchinson VFW.

    1. All you can eat Sausage and Ham Supper
      4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

      The Glencoe Lions Club invites you to their Annual “All You Care to Eat” Sausage/Ham Supper on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Pla-Mor Ballroom, Glencoe, serving from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with take-outs available.  Menu includes: Sausage, ham, scalloped potatoes, corn, applesauce, bars, coffee and milk.  Advance adult tickets are only $8.00 and are available from Lions Club Members.  Prices at the door are Adults – $9.00;  Children (age 4 – 10) $4.00, and children age three and under eat FREE.  Proceeds will be used toward community projects.  Please bring a non-perishable food item for the McLeod Emergency Food Shelf. Collection boxes will also be available for your used eyeglasses, sunglasses and hearing aids.

      10:15 am – 11:15 am

      The Silver Lake Knights of Columbus are having a Paper Drive on Oct 23rd and 24th.  Drop off your paper items on the north side of Holy Family Church in SL.  Items accepted include: Newspapers, magazines, cardboard, and junk mail (items must be clean and dry).  Program benefits: SL Ambulance, Fire Department, and Winterfest.  

    2. Soup and Sandwich Luncheon
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      The Church of Peace in NYA is hosting their Soup and Sandwich Lunch on Friday, Oct 23rd from 11a-1p.  Cost is a free will offering.  

    3. Turkey Supper
      4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Cokato Legion is having their Turkey Supper on Friday, Oct 23rd from 4:30-7 pm at the Cokato City Hall.  Adults are $9, Children are $5.  

    4. SL Turtle Soup Feed
      7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

      The Silver Lake Sportmens Club is holding their annual Turtle Soup Feed, Friday, Oct. 23rd at the Silver Lake Auditorium.  Doors open at 7 pm, Soup Served at 8:30 pm…Bean Bag Tournament at 8 pm.  There is also door prizes, meat raffle, and a silent auction.  All are welcome!

      Ss. Michael, Mary, and Brendan Church is having their Firth annual Vendor and Craft Fair on Saturday, Oct 24th from 9a-2p at Sibley East High School in Arlington.  Lunch available and 40+ vendors will be on hand.

    2. Fall Bazaar
      10:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Stewart has their Fall Bazaar on Saturday, Oct 24th from 10a-1p.  Serving Homemade Beef Soup, Hot Turkey or BBQ Buns, and more for Lunch, Quilts for Sale, Bake Sale, Country Store, Crafters and more are all a part of the event.

    3. Fall Salad Luncheon
      10:30 am – 1:00 pm

      The women of Grace Bible Church in Silver Lake would like to invite area ladies to their annual Fall Salad Luncheon on Saturday, October 24th, at 10:30 am.  The event is free and will include a variety of delicious salads, and a talk by Grace Rakow titled “In The Footsteps of Christ”.  Grace spent the summer of 2014 teaching in Israel and will be sharing some of her experiences. Grace is a 2010  graduate of GSL High School, and graduated this past spring from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago majoring in the biblical languages.  Reservations are not required, but are appreciated for planning purposes.     4. SL Dedication
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

       A dedication ceremony for the new monument at the Silver Lake park is coming this Saturday, October 24th at 2 PM. All are welcome to attend. Personalized engraved stones honoring veterans can and will be added to this monument every year. Any veteran, regardless of whether a member of any organization, deceased or living, can have a stone added to this monument by contacting the Silver Lake Legion Post at 320-327-2404
