    1. 600 Club Meeting
      5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Hutchinson Womens 600 Club will have their Fall Meeting on Monday, Aug 10th , 5:30 pm at Squeaky’s Bar and Grill.  Agenda includes the fall local tournament with rule changes and state tournament.

    2. Hutchinson Music in the Park
      6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      Hutchinson is once again presenting its Music in the Park Series, Mondays this summer at Library Square.  Concerts and activities start at 6:30 pm.  Plus each night a local non-profit host will have refreshments for sale.  This years schedule includes:  

      August 10, Captain Gravitone and the String Theory Orchestra

      Senior Dance Wednesday, Aug 12th at the Cosmos Legion from 1:30-4:30 pm

    2. Fairfax Library Hangtime
      3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      The Fairfax Library has Double Digit Hang Time Wednesdays in August, from 3-5 pm for Kids ages 10-18. August 12th is Makey Makey, August 19th is squirt gun painting, and august 26th is a showing of the Disney Movie National Treasure 2.

    1. Civil Air Patrol members
      7:15 am – 8:15 am

      The Hutchinson Civil Air Patrol is looking for members.  Meetings are 6:30-8:30 pm Tuesday Nights at the Hutch Airport.  For more info contact Dave 587-2358 or Eamonn 552-3495

    2. Veterans Seminars
      9:00 am – 4:00 pm

      McLeod County Veteran Services are hosting free seminars with information unique to active duty Vietnam Era veterans (military service between August 5th, 1964 and May 7th 1975) on both Thursday and Friday August 13th and 14th at the County’s Administrative building in Glencoe. The seminars will be offered four times daily at 9:00 and 11:00am each morning and at 1:00 and 4:00pm each afternoon. Topics covered will include veteran’s access to health care, long-term care, disability benefits, financial assistance, end of life care, burial and survivor benefits.  Questions, call Veteran Services at (320)864-1268.

    3. Plato Lions Burger Night
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Plato Lions are having their Burger Night on Thursday, Aug 13th from 4-7 pm at the Plato Park.  Entertainment by the Rev. Brian Brosz and Friends.  Proceeds go to local Projects.

    1. Musicfest
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Polka Lovers Klub of America presents their Music Fest at the Pla Mor Ballroom in Glencoe August 14-16.  On Friday it’s Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchmen from 7-11 pm. Saturday is Malek’s Fisherman at Noon and 4 pm, and Julie Lee and the White Rose Band at 2 pm and 6 pm.  Sunday it’s Gary’s Ridgeland Dutchmen at Noon and 4 pm, and the Leon Olsen Show at 2 pm and 6 pm.  More info: polkofa.com

    1. Raffle Drawing
      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Crow River Chapter of the MN Deer Hunters Association will be selling raffle tickets at the Hutchinson VFW Parking lot on Saturday, Aug 15th from 8a-Noon.  Drawing is for a 2015 Ranger 570 Mid Size.  All proceeds from the raffle go to youth groups involved in hunting and shooting sports.

    1. Pork Chop Dinner
      9:30 am – 2:00 pm

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hollywood is having their annual Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, August 16th, serving from 11a-2p.  Cost is $10 in advance ($11 at the door) for ages 12 and up, Ages 5-11 is $5, under 4 is free.  On the menu is Pork Chops, Scalloped Potatoes, Sauerkraut, Corn, Coleslaw and more.  There is also a silent auction.  The Day starts off with a contemporary Worship service at 9:30 am

    2. Pork Chop Dinner Ticket Deadline
      9:30 am – 10:30 am

      You are invited to a Pork chop and sweet corn dinner on Thursday, August 20th at Faith Presbyterian Church in Silver Lake.   Menu consisits of pork chops with applesauce, sweet corn, bean, pickles, bars and beverages.  Serving is from 6 to 7:30 p.m.  Cost is $8 for a single pork chop dinner and $11 for a two pork chop dinner.  Advance sales only so please call Alice at 327-2311 by August 16th for your tickets.  

    3. St. Andrews Fun Fest
      9:30 am – 4:00 pm

      Join St. Andrews Catholic Church of Fairfax for their annual Fun Fest on Sunday, August 16th.  Mass at 9:30 am with Harry Wojahn and Deb Nelson…followed by a Chicken Dinner from 10:30a-1p.  Cost for the dinner is $11 for adults, $5 for kids ages 5-10, and under 5 is free.  Takeouts and buckets of chicken available.  Other activities include Live Music, Cash Raffle, Games, Country Store, Authentic Taco Stand and more!  Event runs until 4 pm.  

    4. Church Golf Tournament
      2:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      Zion Lutheran Church of Buffalo Lake is having their first ever golf tournament and live auction on August 16th.  (Must Preregister by August 10th)  2 pm Registration, 2:30 pm shot gun start at Oakdale Golf Club.  Cost is $50 for golf, cart, and meal (Meal tickets only are $15).  Contact Jodi to sign up 833-2097.

      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      Silver Lake has their City Wide Garage Sales August 20-22nd.  Thursday and Friday 8a-5p, Saturday 8a-Noon.  The SL Womens Club is also hosting a Bake Sale and BBQ Lunch on all of the days.

    1. Fish Boil Dinner
      11:30 am – 1:00 pm

      The First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glencoe is hosting their 6th annual Fish Boil Dinner on Sunday, Aug 23rd from 11:30a-1p at the church Fellowship Center.  Free will Donation for Pollock, Tartar Sauce, Potatoes, Coleslaw and more!  Proceeds go to the Orphan Grain Train.

    1. Bus to PKOTMW
      5:15 pm – 6:00 pm

      The McLeod American Dairy Association is sending a bus to the Princess Kay Coronation August 26 at the State Fairgrdounds. The bus will be departing the fairgrounds in Hutch at 5:15, Shopko in Glencoe at 5:45, and St. Peter’s Church parking lot in Lester Prairie at 6:00.  Cost is $5.00.  Sign up sheet in malt wagon at the McLeod county fair or call Kelsey Buss at 320-583-0560.

      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The All Saints Lutheran Church of Darwin is holding their Ice Cream Social on Friday, August 28th from 4-7 pm  Adults are $7, Children 10 and under are $5.  

    2. Old Fashioned Tent Revival
      6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      Oak Heights Covenant Church is having their annual Old Fashioned Tent Revival on August 28th, 29th and 30th.  6 pm food served under the tent each night, 7 pm service begins.  Everyone is welcome.  On Friday hear Bluegrass Gospel Music with personal testimonies.  Saturday is Music by the MN Adult and Teen Challenge Choir and a youth bonfire after the  service.  Sunday is Music and Message by the Chancellors, southern gospel singing quartet.  Free admission.

      Five Star Financial Resources are doing a Blood Drive in honor of Shawn Bollinger (waiting for a lung transplant) on Monday, August 31st from 2-7 pm.  The Bloodmobile will be parked at the corner of Main St and 1st Ave SW in Hutchinson.

    1. Firearms Safety Class
      6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Gopher Campfire presents their Minnesota Firearms Safety Class starting September 2nd.  The class is for anyone ages 12 and older.  Anyone who hunts in MN must have  passed this class.  Registration is required…to sign up or for questions call 320-587-3153.

    1. Drive for your school fundraiser
      2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      It’s a drive for your school fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 3rd from 2-6 pm at the Hutchinson High School Parking Lot.  Test Drive a vehicle from Jay Malone Motors and Ford will donate $20 to HHS for every test drive.  Funds raised benefit Dollars for Scholars and Business Professionals of America.

      The Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Dassel is having their Ice Cream Social on Saturday, Sept. 5th after the Red Rooster Parade.  Cost is a free will offering for BBQ’s, Chips, Pie, Ice Cream and beverage.

      2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      The Sew Friendly Quilt Guild invites you to their Quilt Show at the Dassel Covenant Church on Sunday, September 6th (2-6pm) and Monday, September 7th (9a-5p).  Quilted items are available for purchase, and items from their stashes for sale.

    1. Bras for a Cause
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Hutchinson Breast Cancer Support Group is inviting everyone to take part in the Bras for a Cause event on Tuesday, Sept. 8th from 7-8:30 pm at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts.  Bring your own supplies and decorate a bra to support women with breast cancer.  Then from Sept. 8-Oct. 13 vote for your favorite bras.  Winners will be revealed on Oct 13th during a reception from 7-8:30 pm at the Center.

    2. Gopher Campfire Election
      8:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Gopher Campfire Club is holding their annual Election of Officers on Tuesday, Sept. 8th, 8 pm at their Club Grounds.

    1. Turkey Supper
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      St. John’s Catholic Church of Hector presents their annual Turkey Supper on Wednesday, Sept. 9th from 4-7 pm.  Serving Buffet style or Take outs in the church parish hall.  Adults are $9.50, Children 4-10 are $4.  Serving Turkey, Dressing, Potatoes, Cole Slaw, Corn and more!  

    2. Food For Kidz Packing Event
      4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

      Bethlehem United Methodist Church of Hutchinson is hosting a Food for Kidz Packing event on Wednesday, Sept. 9th from 4:30-7:30 pm.  Anyone from the community is invited to help, a light lunch will be served and free will donations accepted.  

    3. Community Dinner
      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Brownton Congregational Church will host a community dinner on Wednesday, Sept 9th from 5-7 pm.  Serving Grilled Chicken for a free will offering.

    4. Oktoberfest in September
      6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      It’s Oktoberfest in September…Wednesday, Sept. 9th at the Brownton Community Center.  Food served at 5:30 pm…Brats, Kraut, Hot Dogs, German Potato Salad and more!  Music by George’s Concertina Band from 6-8 pm.
