    1. Korean War Vet Meeting
      1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      A second round of Benefit Seminars for Korean War Era Veterans and their spouses will be hosted by McLeod County Veteran Services on Thursday Feb 26th at both 1pm & 5pm at the McLeod County Solid Waste Facility in Hutchinson. For details, contact Veteran Services at (320)864-1268.

    2. Agri Business Seminar
      5:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Hutchinson Agri Business Seminar will be held on Thursday, Feb 26th from 5:30-9 pm at the Crow River Winery in Huchinson.  Speakers include: Bret Oelke on creating a competitive advantage through management of production costs – Michael Dove and Jeff Braegelmann on avoiding legal pitfalls in Ag Business – and Nathan Winter, Extension Educator on a farm bill update.  Tickets are $40 (for 2 persons), contact 587-5252 for Tickets.

    1. Wine Tasting Party
      5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Join team hunt for a cure at a wine tasting party on Friday, Feb 27th from 5-8 pm at the Crow River Winery.  Cost is $10, proceeds go to the team participating in the walk for cancer this summer. 

    2. DC Community Theatre
      6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The DC Community Theatre Presents “the Romancers”.  Six performances are scheduled in the Dassel History Center and Ergot Museum, Dassel.   3 Evening Dessert Performances: Friday Feb 27, Saturday Feb 28 and Friday March 16, 7:00 p.m.  2 Matinee Dessert Performances: Sundays, March 1 and 8, 2:00 p.m. and one Dinner Theatre Performance: Saturday, March 7, 6:00 p.m.  All seats are general admission. Tickets are available online at www.dc.k12.mn.us/pac ; by phone at 320-286-4120; in person at the Community Education office at the Dassel-Cokato High School; and at the door prior to each performance, if tickets are still available.

    1. Juvenile Diabetes Fundraiser
      9:00 am – 2:00 pm

      The 5th annual Juvenile Diabetes Spring into a Cure fundraiser will be on Saturday Feb 28th at the Blue Note Ballroom in Winsted from 9a-2p.  Shop the many craft booths or vendors, Kids will have activites, and you can listen to live music from the Total Country Band.  You can also shope the bake sale, and get your easter portraits taken.  For more info search for “Juvenile Diabetes Fundraiser” on facebook.  

    2. Bowl a thon for Special Olympics
      11:00 am – 2:00 pm

      The Aspiring Insurance Professionals are hosting a Bowl a Thon at Lake Bowl in Howard Lake to benefit Special Olympics Minnesota’s Young Athletes Program.  The event is on Saturday, Feb 28th starting at 11 am.  $40 registration fee gets you two bowling games, shoe rental, pizza, and pop.  Bowl with a team or by yourself!  Prizes award to top team and individual.  Contact Nicole at 320-286-4416 to sign up for for info.  

    3. Fish Fry
      11:00 am – 8:00 pm

      The High Island lake Conservation club invites you to their annual Fish Fry on Saturday, Feb 28th at the New Auburn City Hall.  Serving from 11a-8p Family Style, All you care to eat.  Cost is $11 for adults, $5 for Children ages 6-10, and 5 and under are free.  Take outs available until 6 pm.

    1. Cancer Benefit
      10:30 am – 2:00 pm

      You are invited to a Cancer Benefit for Barb Milbrett on Sunday, March 1st from 10:30a-2 pm in the BLHS HS Cafeteria.  Serving a home cooked Swedish meatball dinner prepared by friends of Barb.  Also take part in the silent auction.  

    2. Glencoe Bridal Expo
      11:00 am – 3:00 pm

      The 2015 Glencoe Bridal Expo will be held on Sunday, March 1st from 11 am-3 pm at the Glencoe City Center.  There will be a variety of vendors ready to help in planning every aspect of your wedding from the bridal shower to the honeymoon to the thank you cards.  Plus there is a fashion show at 1:30 pm

    1. MS Walk Bake Sale
      10:00 am – 1:00 pm

      March 2nd and 3rd join the MS Walk Hutchinson Committee at the Hutchinson Mall for their 3rd annual Bake Sale and MS Awareness Booth from 10a-2p, then on Wednesday, March 3rd at the Hutchinson Health Clinic from 11a-1p.

      The Hutchinson Concert Association presents Harmonious Wail on Monday, March 2nd at Park Elementary.  Memberships are available for $20, or individual tickets are available at the door.

    1. Food for Kidz Packing event
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      GFW is looking for volunteers for their Food for Kidz Packing event on Wednesday, March 4th from 4-7 pm at the High School Lunch Room.  Volunteers are needed to package food, weigh, seal or box packages and load boxes.  Donations are also appreciated.

    1. Brownton Fish Fry
      4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      It’s the Brownton Lions Fish Fry on Friday, March 6th at the Brownton Community Center.  Serving from 4-8 pm with Fish, Potatoes, Beans, Coleslaw, and more!  Take outs available.  Adults are $10, K-6th grade is $5.  Proceeds benefit Community projects.   And don’t forget to bring your old eyeglasses.

      The Silver Lake Knights of Columbus Fish Fry is Friday, March 6th at the Silver Lake Auditorium, serving from 4:30-7:30 pm.  Tickets are $10 at the door, $9 in advance, Children under 10 is $5, and under 4 is free.  All you can Eat, Take out orders available.

      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      St. Anastasia presents their rummage Sale on March 11-13th at their school auditorium.  Hours Wednesday and Thursday are 8a-6p, Friday 8a-Noon.  Friday is also $2 bag day.   Quarter for most items, Winter Coats/Jackets are $1.  So many items, to numerous to list…all priced to sell!

      The Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary will hold their March Spaghetti Supper on Thursday, March 12th from 4-7 pm at the Elk’s Lodge in Hutchinson.  Take Outs available, families welcome

    2. SL Sausage Supper
      4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Silver Lake Lions Club will host its annual Sausage Supper on Thursday, March 12@ the Silver Lake Auditorium. The supper will be serving from 4:30-7:00 PM.  The cost: Adults $7.50-Children ages 4-12-$3.50 and under three 3 FREE. Proceeds will go to the SL Fire Dept./SL Ambulance.

    1. Preschool Registration
      10:00 am – 11:00 am

      GSL Preschool registration is now open for next year!  Registration is ongoing until classes are full.  Preschool registration packets are available in the ECFE office, or you may print them from the GSL website www.gsl.k12.mn.us (select “COMM ED/ECFE” tab).

    2. Peace Lutheran Fish Fry
      11:00 am – 6:30 pm

      Peace Lutheran Church is having their Fish Fry on Friday, March 13th, serving from 11a-6:30p (or until the fish run out).  Cost is $10 for adults, $6 for children 6-12, and under 5 is free.  On the menu is Fish, Scalloped potatoes, cole slaw, baked beans and more!  Proceeds benefit the Youth Mission Trip.

    3. Winsted Fish Fry
      3:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Winsted Fish Fry is coming up Friday, March 13th from 3:30-7 pm at the Blue Note of Winsted.  Eat in or Drive Thru available.  Advance Tickets are $11, $12 at the door, Children 6-10 are $5, under 6 is free.  All you can eat Fish, Potato Salad, French Fries, Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, and more!

    1. Benefit Dart Tournament
      10:30 am – 2:00 pm

      Benefit Dart Tournament for Lance Jaeger will be held Saturday, March 14th at Willkommen Park Pavilion in NYA.  Cost is $20, sign up from 10:30-11:45…with the tournament starting at Noon.  Other activities include a silent auction, raffle, music, and food.  Proceeds go to Lance’s Medical Bills.

    2. Benefit for Darla Neubarth
      2:00 pm – 11:30 pm

      Join in the benefit for Darla Neubarth on Saturday March 14th.  Events at BLHS High School from 2-5 pm include a Carnival, Pizza, and Raffle for Kids!  Evening events are at the Buffalo Lake Community Center and include a Pulled Pork Meal serving at 6 pm, Silent Auction from 6-8 p, and Dance from 8:30-11:30 pm.  Proceeds benefit Darla’s battle with Ovarian Cancer.

    2. Plato Lions Spring Brunch

      Plato Lions are having their Spring Brunch from 9a-Noon at the Plato Hall on Sunday, March 15th.  All you can eat Pancakes, Sausage, Eggs, Toast, and Beverage.  Free Will donation, proceeds go to the Community Project Fund. 

    3. Remembering Country Schools
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      The Mcleod County Historical Society presents Remembering Country Schools, a presentation on Sibley and Mcleod County history of Country Schools.  The Program will be Sunday, March 15th from 2-3 pm at the Museum’s Educational Center in Hutchinson.  More details at mcleodhistory.org

      MACT (MN Assn of Community Theatres) Fest will be held March 18-22nd at the Dassel Cokato Performing Arts Center.  Performances and Workshops will be run every day of the fest.
