      You’re invited to a fundraiser for the Mcleod Conty Historical Society, Monday May 15th from 11a-9p at Buffalo Wild Wings. Just print a fundraiser ticket from mcleodhistory.org and then eat at BWW that day. 15% of your total bill will be donated to the society and museum.

      The Hutchinson VFW Auxiliary is hosting their Poppy Luncheon on Wednesday, May 17th from 11a-1p at the VFW. Serving Chicken Macaroni Salad, Jello, Buns and more. Proceeds go to the Veterans Relief Fund.

    2. Senior Pre Senior Fair
      12:30 pm – 4:30 pm

      Join us for the Senior and Pre Senior Fair on Thursday, May 18th from 12:30-4:30 pm at the Glencoe City Center. Free Admission, Refreshments, Vendor Displays, and Seminars. Seminars include: a Medicare talk by Tim Jopp, a Scams and Identity Theft talk from Capt Wyatt Bienfang of the Glencoe Police Department, and a Veterans Benefits talk from Jim Lauer of the Mcleod County Veterans Service Department.  

    3. May Brain Boosting Workshop
      6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

      The MN Brain Injury Force has their latest Brain Boosting Workshop on Thursday, May 18 at 6 pm at Hutchinson Health Hospital Room F. This Month…Dr Sarah Peters will share her story of her own traumatic brain injury story of healing and hope. More info at MNBIF.org

    4. Lakeside Elementary Concert
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      Circle Thursday, May 18th, on your calendar and join Lakeside Elementary of Silver Lake in the Gym for a great evening of music featuring the 5th Grade Band, 6th Grade Band, and the 5th & 6th Grade Choir performing!  The Concert begins at 7:00 pm.

      St. Anastasia Catholic Church of Hutchinson is holding a Kids Rummage Sale on Friday, May 19th from 9a-7p. Most items are .25 cents. $2 per bag from 5-7 pm.

    1. Dana Willard Benefit
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      A Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction will be held on May 20 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Montrose Community Center.  Community members are encouraged to attend and help support Dana Willard who has been active in the local communities supporting cancer benefits.  She was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer herself.  All proceeds from the benefit will be used for medical  expenses.

    2. Sue Forsman Benefit

      You are invited to a benefit for Sue Forsman on Saturday, May 20th at the Blue Note Ballroom of Winsted. Silent Auction from 5-8 pm and Entertainment from 8-Midnight.

      The Dassel Fire Dept is holding it’s annual French Toast Breakfast on Sunday, May 21st from 8a-12:30 pm. Serving French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, Knaus Smoked Sausage and Fruit for a free will donation.

    2. TWOH Breakfast Brunch

      Today’s Women of Hutchinson is having a Breakfast Brunch on Sunday, May 21st from 9a-1p at the Elks Club in Hutchinson. Tickets are $8 each, Under 5 is free. Proceeds go to the Elks Park All Inclusive Playground.  

    3. Pork Chop Dinner

      Everyone is invited to a Pork Chop Dinner at St. James Lutheran School of Howard Lake on Sunday, May 21st from 11a-1p. Serving Pork Chops, Scalloped Potatoes, Corn, Cole Slaw and more. Free will offering will be accepted in support of Confirmation Camp and Mission Trips.

    1. Gopher Road Trip

      The Minnesota Gopher Road Trip is coming to Hutchinson on Wednesday, May 24th at Noon to the Crow River Golf Club. The event will include AD Mark Coyle, Football Coach PJ Fleck, Basketball Coach Richard Pitino and more. Every event on the Gopher Road Trip is completely free to attend and open to the public, but space is limited, especially at smaller venues. Fans are encouraged to secure their spot in advance by registering online to attend events.       Support the new Mcleod County 4H Drill Team on Thursday, May 25th at Culver’s in Hutchinson. The newly formed team is fundraising to buy supplies. 10% of sales go to the team.

      It’s an evening og Bluegrass Gospel Music on Friday, May 26th at the DC Performing Arts Center at 7 pm. Hear music from the Hartley Family of Arkansas, The Kellen Family of Duelm, MN, The Mahlstedt Family of Cokato, and the Kingery Family of Grove City. Cost is just a free will donation.

      The Plato Memorial Day Service will be Monday, May 29th at 9 am at the Plato Commity Hall. Speaker is 3rd District Commander Mike Maxa. 

    2. Brownton Memorial Day
      10:00 am – 1:00 pm

      The Brownton Memorial Day Program will be on Monday, May 29 in front of the Brownton Community Center at 10 am. Speaker is Officer Candidatge Cassandra Carrigan, veteran of the gulf ward and currently employed by the Veterans Service Office in Glencoe. Potluck Dinner is served at 11:30 am, Chicken provided by Brownton Legion Post, Please bring a dish to pass.

      The Memorial Day Service in Norwood Young America will be at 10 am on Monday, May 29th at Central High School.  

    4. Darwin Memorial Day Program
      10:30 am – 11:30 am

      The Darwin Lakes Area Memorial Day Program will be Monday, May 29th at 10:30a at the Hantge Funeral Chapel in Darwin. Speaker is Tom Hauer, Darwin Resident and Army Veteran.

    1. Fitness Equipment open house

      Test out the new fitness equipment at Rotary Park in Hutchinson Thursday, June 1st from 6:30-8p with help from the America’s Fitness Center Instructorts. The event is free and open to the public. There will also be additional Family activities, giveways and more!

      The Carver County Sheriff’s Office is holding their Bike Rodeo on Saturday, June 3rd at the Church of Peace in NYA from 10a-Noon. The event is for kids ages 8-10 to learn about Bike Safety and complete the Obstacle Course. Free Bike Helmet given to the first 50 Kids.

    1. Sea Side Service
      9:30 am – 11:00 am

      Members and friends of Grace Bible Church in Silver Lake invite you to experience and participate in a unique outdoor worship service.  On Sunday, June 11th, at 9:30 am a specialSea Side Service  held at Swan Lake (north side—next to the pier). The service is reflective of the times when Jesus preached from a boat on the Sea of Galilee. This worship event includes: A message preached from a boat, and congregational singing.  Dress is casual, and those who attend are asked to bring their own lawn chairs or a blanket.  You are also welcome to join us with your boat. Swan Lake is located about one mile northwest of Silver Lake on County Rd. 16. To get there go to Highway 7, and turn west and take County Road 16 (north). In the case of inclement weather the service will be held at the church building.
