  1. Apr

    1. Spring Art Show
      8:30 am – 9:45 am

      Artists are invited to submit your artwork for the Annual Spring Art Show at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts.  The art will be on display from April 15th-May 1st.  Entries are due Thursday, April 10th.  Prizes will be awarded in 6 different categories (Painting, Drawing, Digital Art, Fiber Art, Sculpture/3D, Jewelry).  More info or registration forms available at HutchinsonArts.org

    2. Bloodmobile in Brownton
      1:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Brownton at the Community Center on Thursday, April 10th from 1-7 pm.

    3. Fiber Arts Guild
      4:30 pm – 6:00 pm

      The Fiber Arts Guild will hold it’s next meeting on Thursday, April 10th at 4:30 pm at Quilt Haven on Main in Hutchinson.  This months program is a presentation from Quilt Haven.  

    4. Veterans Park Board
      7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      The McLeod County Veterans Park Board will meet at Hutchinson Post 96, April 10, at 7:30 pm

    1. Plato Garage Sales
      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      Plato is holding their area Garage Sales on Friday and Saturday (April 11/12).  Sales start at 8 am at various locations.  Just look for the balloons and signs.

    2. SL Paper Drive
      9:00 am – 5:00 pm

      The Holy Family Church of Silver Lake is holding their Paper Drive on Friday and Saturday (April 11, 12).  You may drop off your paper products on the north side of the Holy Family Church in Silver Lake.  Proceeds will go to the SL Swimming Pool Operations and the SL Youth Recreation programs.  

    3. Patty Kark in Concert
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      Peace Lutheran Church of Hutchinson presents Patty Kark in Concert on Friday, April 11th at the church.  Concert is Free and starts at 7 pm.  Refreshments will follow, and a free will offering will be taken for the Little Lambs Preschool.  Kark will be presenting the Story of Easter “My redeemer lives”

    1. HLWW ECFE garage sale
      9:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The 23rd annual Spring ECFE Garage Sale will be Saturday, April 12th from 9-Noon at HLWW High School.  Families selling children’s clothes, maternity clothes, accessories, books, toys andmore!  No admission to shop.  Plus kids can stop by the free big wheels activity in the parking lot from 10-11 am.  

    2. BASICS concert
      3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

      Friends of the Stewart Red Owl will be hosting a fundraiser concert at 3 pm Saturday (April 12) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart.  The Group BASICS will perform.  Free Will donations will be accepted and a light lunch will follow.

    3. Winsted Hog Roast
      5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Annual Winsted Sportsmens Club Hog Roast will be at the Blue Note Saturday April 12th 2014 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Advanced tickets $9.00 At the door $10.00.  Tickets available at Winsted Coop, Kegs Bar , Blue Note and from members . Take outs available, Will be membership Drive also.  Any questions call Harvey at 320-510-3179.

    1. Ham and Pancake Breakfast in GI
      8:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Green Isle invite you to their annual Smoked Ham and Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, April 13th from 8a-1p at the church.  Cost is just a free will offering.  On the menu is Pancakes, Eggs, Ham, Cheese, Applesause, Bars and Beverage.

    2. Glencoe Lions Club Spring Brunch
      9:00 am – 12:30 pm

      The Glencoe Lions Club invites you to their Annual “All You Care to Eat” Spring Brunch on Sunday, April 13 at the Pla-Mor Ballroom, Glencoe, serving from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with take-outs available. Menu includes: Pancakes, Lions “original recipe” sausage, ham, eggs, fruit, juice, toast, coffee and milk.  Advance Adult tickets are $9.00 and are available at Hite Hardware & Paint, Franklin Printing and from Lions Club Members. Prices at the door are Adults – $10.00, Children (age 4 – 10) $5.00, and children age three and under eat FREE. Proceeds will be used toward community projects. Collection boxes will also be available for your used eyeglasses, sunglasses and hearing aids. 

    3. Stewart Easter Party
      9:00 am – 12:30 pm

      The Stewart Lions Annual Kids Easter Party and Pancake Breakfast will be Sunday, April 13th from 9a-12:30p at the Stewart Fire Hall.  Breakfast is all you can eat Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Fruit, and beverage.  Kids get a photo with the easter bunny, and participate in the coloring contest.  Cost is a free will donation.  Proceeds go to local projects.  

    4. New Auburn Spring Fling
      9:30 am – 12:30 pm

      The New Auburn Lions Spring Fling Brunch will be Sunday, April 13th from 9:30a-12:30p at the New Auburn City Hall.  Serving scrambled eggs with ham and cheese hashbrowns, homemade muffins and a beverage.  Adults are $6, Children under 10 are $4, 5 and under are free.

    5. COF Chicken Dinner
      10:30 am – 1:00 pm

      The Holy Trinity Catholic Order of Foresters will hold their Chicken Dinner on Sunday, April 13th from 10:30a-1p at the Blue Note of Winsted.  Serving Chicken, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Corn, Cole Slaw, Bread, Dessert, and Beverage.  Cost is $9 in advance, $10 at the door, Children 6-10 are $5, and under 5 are free.  Take out orders are available.  Plus stop at the Bake Sale to benefit Holy Trinity Mission Group.  

    6. Olson family benefit
      12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      You are invited to the Olson Family Benefit on Sunday, April 13th from Noon-5 pm at the Litchfield Middle School.  Spaghetti meal is served for a free will donation, and a silent auction and drawing will be from Noon-4 pm.  Proceeds benefit the Olson family, who was injured in a car crash this winter.

    7. Community Bingo
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      Area Senior Citizens are invited to play Community Bingo on Sunday, April 13 from 2-3 PM in the dining room at Ecumen Pines! Community Bingo will be .25 cents per card, with the last game being a coverall and is $1.00 per card – WINNER TAKES ALL! Community Bingo is offered the 2nd Sunday of EACH month with complimentary coffee and snack immediately following.

    8. The last week of Jesus
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      Join the Brownton Congregational Church as they present the Last Week of Jesus on Sunday, April 13th 7 pm at the church.  The Loring String Quartet will provide music as you reflect on the last week of Jesus in word and music.  A free will offering will be taken.

      1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

      The St. Francis Mission Club is sponsoring a 500 Card Party on Monday, April 14th at 1:30 pm at the St. Pius X School Cafeteria in Glencoe.  Men and Women welcome, No Admission.  There will be a free will offering dessert luncheon also.  

    2. Brownton Legion Meeting
      7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Brownton American Legion and Auxiliary will be meeting on Monday, April 14th at the Community Center starting at 7:30 pm.

    1. Hutch Head Start Open House
      1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      Hutchinson Head Start’s Fall Registration Open House is coming up on Tuesday, April 15th from 1-5 pm at their site on Highway 15 North.  You can register your child for early Head start (birth to age 3) or Head Start (ages 3-5) for the 2014-15 school year.  Meet the staff, ask questions, and learn about head start.  Any questions call 234-6306.

    2. Caregiver Support Group
      1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

      The next Caregiver Support Group at Renville County Hospital in Olivia will be Tuesday, April 15th from 1:30-3 pm in the Willette Room.  Guest this month is Stacie Roxberg, LSW from Golden Living Center in Olivia.  The group will focus on Caregiving and Alzheimers.  All are welcome

    1. Spring Firearms Safety Class
      6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Gopher Campfire Club is holding their Spring Firearms Safety Class.  The Class dates are April 17th (6-9 pm), April 26th (8a-5p, lunch provided), and April 27th (12:30-5 pm).  Attendance at all three classes are required.  Cost is $15, $7.50 to Gopher Campfire and $7.50 to the state of MN upon completion.  Participants must be 11 years of age or older, and a parent or guardian must accompany minors.  Reservations are required, class size is limited.  To register contact Brian at schmloil@hutchtel.net

    2. The Masters Voice in Concert
      6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Litchfield Nazarene Church presents Southern Gospel group “The Master’s Voice” on Thursday, April17th at 6:30 pm.  Admission is a free will offering.

    1. Oaks and Pines Easter Egg Hunt
      10:00 am – 11:00 am

      Join the ECUMEN Oaks and Pines for their annual easter egg hunt on Friday, April 18th at 10 am.  Kids 10 and younger are invited (must be accompanied by an adult). Bring your easter baskets! New this year each child gets a goody bag (while supplies last).  Plus kids can grab a photo with the easter bunny!  Photos at the Pines from 10:15-10:30 am, at the Oaks from 10:30-10:45.

    1. Brownton Easter Egg Hunt
      10:00 am – 11:00 am

      The Brownton Womens Club invites you to their Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 19th starting at 10 am at the Brownton Community Center.  The Hunt is open to kids ages toddler to 3rd grade.  Bring your own baskets, treat bags and prizes will be given, plus take a photo with the easter bunny or live bunnies.  Free Admission, Refreshments are served.

    2. Reality Easter
      1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      Grace Lutheran Church of Hutchinson is having their Reality Easter on Saturday, April 19th from 1-4 pm.  Experience the Easter Story through live dramatizations.  There will be 25 minute presentations during the hours, come anytime between 1 and 4 for the show.

      The Cedar Mills Rod and Gun Club is holding their monthly pancake brunch on April 20th from 9a-12:30p.  On the menu is regular and potato pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, and more!  Adults are $8, Kids aged 6-12 are $4, and 5 and under are free.
