      Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson is holding their Block Party on Saturday, Aug 2nd from 1-6 pm.  Everyone is welcome, and everything is FREE.  Food, prizes, Raffles, Games, and more!

    1. Food Packing
      11:00 am – 6:00 pm

      The DAV Chapter 37 is holding a Food Packing on Sunday, August 3rd from 11a-6p at the Hutchinson National Guard Armory.  Volunteer Workers are needed for all shifts, and all food packaged will be distributed to Deployed Soldiers Families and Homeless Veterans in Minnesota.  To volunteer contact Marty at 320-583-9011

    1. Olmscheid Benefit
      6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

      You are invited to a Benefit Potluck Picnic and Silent Auction for Emma Rose Olmscheid on Tuesday, Aug 5th in Hutchinson.  The event is held in the Greens Housing Development in the northwest potion of the city.  Bring a dish for the potluck, to start at 6 pm…and the Silent Auction ends at 7:30 pm.  In addition folks can explore a Hutchinson Fire Truck at the event.  All proceeds go to 2 year old Emma, who’s fighting an inoperable brain tumor.

      St. Paul’s Lutheran Church WELCA of hector invites all to their Salad Luncheon on Wednesday, Aug 6th serving at Noon in the church fellowship hall.  Following lunch, the guest speaker is Marge Lundeen with “A Time to Dance”.

    1. Ice Cream Social
      4:00 pm – 6:30 pm

      Our Savior’s Lutheran Church is having their annual Ice Cream Social on Thursday, Aug 7th from 4-6:30 pm.  Enjoy Turkey Salad Sandwiches, BBQ’s, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Pie, Ice Cream, Root Bear Floats and Beverages.  Take outs available.

    2. Grove City Mission BBQ
      5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

      Trinity Lutheran Church of Grove City is having their Mission BBQ on Thursday, Aug 7th from 5:30-7:30 pm.  Serving BBQ Pork, Potato Salad, Sweet Corn, Beverage and Dessert.  Adults are $7 in advance, $8 at the door, Students are $4 ($5 at the door), and under 5 are free.  You can also take part in the meat raffle, bingo, basket raffles and more!  Proceeds benefit Litchfield Area Mentorship Program and the House of Grace.

    3. Gaylord Eggstravaganza
      6:30 pm – 12:00 pm

      Enjoy Gaylord’s Eggstravaganza from Aug 7-10!  Events start with the Gaylord Pool Show on Aug 7th.  Friday, Aug 8th includes the EGGceptional breakfast, other food stands and events, the Zoo Man, Classic Car Cruise, and Entertainment.  Saturday, Aug 9th enjoy a taste of gaylord, Entertainment, Parade at 1 pm, Kids activities, games, coronation, fireworks and more!  Sunday, Aug 10th is the Ecumencial Worship Service at 10 am.

    1. Chow Mein Dinner
      11:30 am – 1:00 pm

      The Church of Peace in NYA is having a Chow Mein Dinner on Friday, Aug. 8th from 11:30a-1p.  Proceeds from the dinner go to Missions.  

    2. Brownton Corn Feed
      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Brownton Lions are sponsoring the Annual Brownton Corn Feed on Friday, August 8h at the Brownton Community Center. Serving from 5-7pm or until corn is gone. Tickets are $5 for ages 13 & up, $2 for ages 6 – 12 and free for children 5 and under. There will be a kids pedal pull at 7pm with registration starting at 6:30pm. Volunteers are needed to husk corn at 1pm in the city park on that day.

    1. Historical Display
      10:00 am – 5:00 pm

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Winsted is hosting a historical display covering the Civil War, World War 1, and World War 2.  The Display will be on Sunday, Aug 9th from 10-5p, a part of Winsted Summerfest.

    1. Neumann Open House
      1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      The Mcleod Emergency Food Shelf is holding an open house at the Glencoe City Center, honoring the retiring Marietta Neumann and her 30 years of service to the Food Shelf.  The event will be held on Sunday, Aug 10th from 1-4 pm in the City Center ballroom.  No gifts please, but donations to the food shelf are most welcome.  

    2. Community Bingo
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      Area Senior Citizens are invited to play Community Bingo on Sunday, August 10 from 2-3 PM in the dining room at Ecumen Pines! Community Bingo will be .25 cents per card, with the last game being a coverall and is $1.00 per card – WINNER TAKES ALL! Community Bingo is offered the 2nd Sunday of EACH month with complimentary coffee and snack immediately following.

    1. Hutch Health Foundation Golf Tournament
      8:00 am – 8:15 am

      The Hutchinson Health Foundation is having their 23rd annual Scramble for Life Golf Tournament on Monday, Aug 11th at the Crow River Golf Club in Hutchinson.  Proceeds benefit the Hutchinson Health Foundation.  Register for the tourney online at hutchinsonhealthfoundation.org

    2. Plato Lions Golf Tournament
      11:00 am – 7:00 pm

      The Plato Lions encourage you and three of your golfing friends to form a team for their golf tournament, scheduled for Monday, August 11th, at the Glencoe Country Club.  The four person  scramble format will begin at 1:00 PM with a shot gun start.  Registration will start at 11:00 AM.  The cost is $40.00 per person for Glencoe Country Club members using their own carts, $50.00 per person for Glencoe Country Club members using the golf course’s carts, or $60.00 per person for non-members.  Registration fees after August 4th will be $10.00 more per foursome.  To register, contact Ron at 320-238-2285.  Proceeds will go to local Lions projects.

    3. Cokato Corn Carnival Book Sale
      2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      The annual Cokato Corn Carnival Book Sale is going on Monday and Tuesday, Aug 11/12 in the Cokato Library.  Hundreds of books at great prices!  Proceeds benefit the library.  

    4. 600 Club Meeting
      5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Hutchinson Womens’ 600 Club will have their fall meeting on Monday, Aug 11th at 5:30 pm at Squeaky’s Bar and Grill.  The agenda includes the upcoming fall tournaments.

      1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

      The Cosmos Legion is having their next Senior Dance on Wednesday, Aug 13th from 1:30-4:30 pm.  Music is by Marie and the Good Ol’ Boys.

    1. Benefit Softball Tournament
      8:30 am – 8:00 pm

      You are invited to participate in a Luck of the Draw Benefit CO-ED Softball Tournament on Saturday, August 16th at Oak Leaf Park in Glencoe.  Cost is $10 per person.  All Participants will have their names put into a hat and teams randomly drawn out.  A silent auction and bake sale is a part of the festivities as well.  All proceeds benefit Joyce Teubert and her battle with cancer.  Contact Lisa @ 320-420-2622 or Sandie @ 320-469-4405 for registration or Q’s.   All participants must be signed up before the start of the tourney.

    1. St. Andrew’s Fun Fest
      9:30 am – 4:00 pm

      Come and Join the fun at St. Andrew’s Fun Fest on Sunday, Aug 17th in Fairfax.  Mass at 9:30 am with music by Harry Wojohn and Deb Nelson.  Chicken Dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, beans, salad, and dessert is served from 10:30-1 pm  Adults are $10, Children (5-10) are $5, under 5 are free.  Enjoy afternoon music by Juice Belly, Cash Raffle, Games for all age, Quilt raffle, Country Store, Bingo, Food Stand and more on the church grounds from 10:30-4 pm.  Everyone is welcome!

    2. St. John’s Pork Chop Dinner
      9:30 am – 2:00 pm

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hollywood is having their 28th annual Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, August 17th.  A contemporary worship service starts at 9:30 am, Serving from 11a-2p.  Advance Tickets are $10 for 12 years and older ($11 at the door), Children 5-11 are $5, and under 4 is free.  On the menu is Pork Chops, Scalloped Potatoes, Sauerkraut, Corn, Cole Slaw, and more!  

    3. Bluegrass and Fiddlers Festival
      10:00 am – 4:00 pm

      On Sunday, August 17, Minnesota Pioneer Park in Annandale will hold it’s 37th Annual Fiddlers’ & Bluegrass Festival Fund Raiser with Pork Chop Dinner and concessions available. This year Nashville Recording Artists “The High 48′s” Bluegrass Band will be the featured performers and will be hosting workshops starting at 10 a.m.Their concert begins at 12 noon and Fiddle contest approximately 2 p.m. The fee for the workshops is $10.00 and gate admissions is $10.00.     4. St. Ignatius Parish Festival
      10:30 am – 4:00 pm

      St. Ignatius Parish Festival will be held on Sunday, August 17 beginning with a Polka Mass at 10:30 a.m. A Chicken Dinner served from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The Festival will take place from 11:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and will include a silent auction, various raffles, Bingo and games for all ages. Big Ticket Raffle drawing to be held following the Festival.

      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      Silver Lake is having their City Wide Garage Sales Thursday-Saturday (Aug 21-23).  Thursday and Friday hours are 8a-5p, Saturday is 8a-Noon.  Many Sales, watch for the signs.  

    2. Treasure Trek
      8:00 am – 5:00 pm

      The 10th annual Tresure Trek along Highway 212 will be Aug 21-23 from 8a-5p each day.  Sales and many other stops along the road from Chaska to Glencoe.  Don’t miss the fun!

    3. Dassel Red Rooster Days
      2:15 pm – 3:15 pm

      Dassel welcomes you to Red Rooster Days August 29th-September 1st!  

      Events on Friday include the Farmers Market and Movie in the Park “The Wizard of Oz:

      Events on Saturday, Aug 30th: Bike Ride, Program at the Dassel History Center, Bean Bag Tournament, Arts Show, Grand Day Parade at 3 pm, BBQ and Ice CreamSocial, Ambassador Coronation, and Street Dance

      Events on Sunday, Aug 31st: Community Worship Service, Lunch at Church Social Hall, MN Minn-E-Rods, Fine Arts Show, Quilt Show, Brat Feed, and Community Hymn Sing, and Fireworks at Spring Lake Park

      Events on Monday, Sept 1st: Run/Walk, Dassel History Center Open, Fine Arts Show, Classic Car and Antique Show, Golden Egg Hunt, Music, Kids Pedal Pull, Quilt Show, and the Largest Chicken BBQ in the State!

    4. Football Kick Off Party
      5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      The Hutchinson High School Football Team invites you to their Kick off Party on Thursday, Aug 21st at 5 pm at the High School Football Field.  A Hamburger meal will be served for $5, and tshirts and wristbands will be for sale.  Meet the coaches and the team and take some photos also!

      St. Anastasia’s White Elephant Sale is going on Friday and Sautrday (Aug 22/23) at the school gym in Hutchinson.  On the Sale, Furniture, Household items, Yard and garden items, Toys, Games, Collectables, Books andmore.  No Clothes.  

    2. Ice Cream Social in Darwin
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      All Saints Lutheran Church of Darwin is holding their annual Ice Cream Social on Friday, Aug 22nd from 4-7 pm.  Serving Sandwiches, Salads, Pie, Ice Cream and Beverages.  Cost is $6.50 for Adults, $4 for Children, and $2.50 for Pie only.  Proceeds go toward a handicap lift at the church.

    3. Old Fashioned Tent Revival
      6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      Oak Heights Covenant Church is hosting their annual Old Fashioned Tent Revival Friday-Sunday (Aug 22, 23, 24).  On Friday, Aug 22 from 6-8 pm see the BASICS, hear personal testimonies, and see the video “The Richest Caveman.  On Saturday, Aug 23rd from 6-8 pm the guest speaker is Pastor Brian Alnes of Lake Beauty Camp, Music from Pastor Adam Krumrie, and more personal testimonies.  And on Sunday, Aug 24th from 6-8:30 pm hear music from the Chancellors Quartet.  Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

      You are invited to a benefit for the Petit Family in Howard Lake at the Legion on Saturday, Aug 23rd.  The day starts off with a 5K Walk at 9 am, Bean Bag Tournament at Noon ($20 per team), Silent Auction from 4-7 pm, Spaghetti Lunch from Noon-5 pm ($8 for lunch), and Entertainment by DJ DK from 3 pm – 1 am.  For more info or to register/donate contact Stephanie at 763-670-9650.
