The Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary will serve its monthly spaghetti supper on Thursday, October 4th, from 4:30 – 7:00 PM in the American Legion Post 96 Commander’s Room (please use east entrance). The cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.00 for children 12 years of age and younger. All suppers are open to the public, families are welcome and take out orders will be available. Suppers are served the first Thursday of each month October through May. The Hutchinson American Legion is located at 35 3rd Avenue SE.

−October 9 Memory Loss Caregiver Support Group6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
The next meeting of a local area support group for adult children, spouses, and friends caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or a related memory loss will be on Tuesday, October 9th, beginning at 6:00 PM at First Lutheran Church (925 13th Street East) in Glencoe. The group meets the second Tuesday of every month, is open to the public and is free of charge. −October 9 Bras for a Cause at HCA7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
The Hutchinson Breast Cancer Support Group and the Hutchinson Center for the Arts (HCA) are teaming up to show support for women with breast cancer. Decorated bras are on display at the HCA (15 Franklin Street SW) through October 9th, The public is asked to donate $1.00 per vote and vote for their favorite entries! All donations will go to the local breast cancer support group to help offer support to women who are fighting this disease. On October 9th, the winners will be announced. The public is invited to attend the Bras for a Cause Reception at 7:00 PM on the 9th and bid on the winning bras which will be auctioned off that night. You may also pick up a ticket at Common Cup Ministry’s office (218 Main Street South) in Hutchinson. The free breakfast is served on the second Saturday of each month.

The special program will be a narration from Ann Zemke telling the story of her grandmother, Marjorie Peterson, an orphan train rider, through blocks on the quilt Ann made in memory of Marjorie’s life. Ann will autograph her book, “They Named Me Marjorie”, following her presentation. A free-will offering will be taken. Ann Zemke, owner of Crocus Lane Quilts in Blaine, MN has made over 150 quilts and teaches quilting.

−October 20 Benefit for the Family of Nathan DeBolt8:30 am – 9:30 am
A benefit for the family of Nathan DeBolt, who passed away in August at age 33 from a severe asthma attack, is planned for Saturday, October 20th, in Cokato. Nathan left behind his wife Myndy and three children. The benefit will consist of a Zumbathon from 1:00 – 2:30 PM at the Cokato Elementary School Gymnasium, a spaghetti dinner and silent auction from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Cokato Evangelical Lutheran Church (280 3rd Street East), and then more fun at the Iron Horse Saloon beginning at 7:00 PM. Proceeds from the benefit will assist the family with their financial needs. If you’re unable to attend but would like to donate, a fund has been set up at First National Bank of Cokato. You’ll find a little bit of everything at this sale – clothing/shoes of all sizes/all seasons, household/miscellaneous items, jewelry, baby items, toys, games, books, magazines, bedding, miscellaneous furniture, pet items and more. Wednesday’s and Thursday’s hours will be from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Friday’s hours will be from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Everything will be priced to sell.
