    1. The Cats Pajamas at WM
      7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Watertown Mayer HS Music Department presents the acapella group “the Cat’s Pajama’s” (as seen on NBC’s Sing Off) on Friday, March 7th at 7:30 pm.  This is a rescheduled show from their original snow out in January.  Advance Tickets will be honored, at the door seats are $10 for adults, $5 for Students.  Proceeds benefit the WM Music Department.

    1. Master Gardeners Program
      8:00 am – 3:00 pm

      The Carver-Scott Master Gardeners present “Garden Fever” on Saturday, March 8th at the Oak Ridge Hotel and Conference Center in Chaska from 8 am – 3 pm.  Hear a number of programs and session dealing with all things gardening.  Cost is $40 before Feb 28th, $45 after Feb 28th, and it includes breakfast and buffet lunch.  Register online or get more info at carverscottmastergardeners.org. 

    2. Laxen Benefit
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      You’re invited to a Benefit for Jessica Laxen on Saturday, March 8th at the Blue Note Ballroom of Winsted.  The benefit includes a spaghetti dinner, silent auction, and bake sale and runs from 4-7 pm.  Music is provided by the band RIZE featuring Jason Dieter.  

    3. Phoenix Drumline Distant Drums
      6:00 pm – 10:00 pm

      The Phoenix Drumline presents Distant Drums 2014 on Saturday, March 8th at 6 pm at the Hutchinson High School Gym.  The event is a Minnesota Percussion Association Drumline Competition and Exhibition.  Advance Tickets are available at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts, or Tickets are available at the door.  Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for Students, under 5 free.  Concessions available.

    1. Lentsch Benefit
      9:30 am – 12:30 pm

      You’re invited to a Dad’s Belgian Waffles and Silent Auction benefit honoring Michael Lentsch on Sunday, March 9th from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm at the BLHS Elementary School.  Cost is a free will donation.  Live Auction for items starts at Noon, while the Silent Auction runs the entire time.  Proceeds benefit Mike, who was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in January. 

    2. ML Pork Chop Dinner
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      Mayer Lutheran HS is hosting a Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, March 9th from 11 am – 1 pm at the school.  Adults are $10, 6-12 is $5, 5 and under are free.  Proceeds are used for Scholarships, Orphan Grain Train, and Lutheran Hour Ministries.  

    3. Community Bingo
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      Area Senior Citizens are invited to play Community Bingo on Sunday, March 9 from 2-3 PM in the dining room at Ecumen Pines. Community Bingo will be .25 cents per card, with the last game being a coverall and is $1.00 per card – WINNER TAKES ALL! Community Bingo is offered the 2nd Sunday of EACH month with complimentary coffee and snack immediately following.

    1. Medicare Class
      1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

      The Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging will be teaching an introductory class on Medicare. If you are getting ready to turn 65, new to Medicare or just want information about your benefits this class is for you!     2. 600 Club Meeting
      7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Hutchinson Womens 600 Club will be meeting on Monday, March 10th at 7:30 pm at Squeaky’s Bar and Grill.  Agenda includes the election of officers.  

    3. Brownton Legion Meeting
      7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Brownton American Legion and Auxiliary will be meeting on Monday, March 10 at the Community Center starting at 7:30 pm

    1. Support Group
      6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The next meeting of the local area support group for adult children, spouses, and friends caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or a related memory loss will meet Tuesday, March 11 at 6:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church of Glencoe. The support group is open to the public and free of charge.

    1. St. Anastasia Rummage Sale
      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      St. Anastasia Church in Hutchinson is holding their Rummage Sale from March 12-14th at their School Auditorium.  25 cents for most items, Friday is $2 Bag Day, and Winter Coats are $1.  Items of all kinds are featured.  Hours Wed (march 12) and Thur (March 13) 8a-6p, and Friday (March 14) is 8a-Noon.  

    2. Senior Dance
      1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

      There’s a senior dance at the Cosmos American Legion on Wednesday, March 12 from 1:30-4:30 PM.  Music by Marie and the Good Ol Boys.  Lunch following the dance.  

    3. Winsted Arts Council presents Dervish
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Winsted Arts Council presents Dervish, Magical Music from Ireland on Wednesday, March 12th at the Blue Note Ballroom of Winsted.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children.

    1. NA Farm and Power Show
      8:45 am – 4:00 pm

      The North American Farm and Power Show is coming to Owatonna at the Steele County Fairgrounds on March 13-15th.  See up to date technology by major manufacturers, agri business services, new product info, farm and ranch displays, educational seminars and more!  Admission and Parking is free.

    2. Fiber Arts Guild’s next meeting
      4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

      The Fiber Arts Guild is having their next meeting on Thursday, March 13th, starting at 4:30 pm at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts.  Diane Karg of Litchfield is the featured speaker, presenting information on personalized collages…combining fabric, paper, and buttons.

    1. Winsted Fish Fry
      3:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      You are invited to the Winsted Knights of Columbus Fish Fry, Friday, March 14th from 3:30 -7:30 pm at the Blue Note Ballroom in Winsted.  Tickets for the All you can eat meal are $11 in advance, $12 at the door, Ages 6-10 are $5, and under 5 are free.  Drive Thru is available from 3 pm – 7 pm.

    1. Howard Lake Expo
      9:00 am – 1:00 pm

      Howard Lake’s 33rd annual Community Expo is Saturday, March 15th from 9a-1p at HLWW High School.  Features this year include: Entertainment, Book Fair, Prizes, Meet area businesses, the Dancers of “Miss Wendy’s”, and father/son duo or Allen and Matthew Carlson.  Please bring an item for the local food shelf, register for door prizes, and stop by the Free Pancake and Sausage Breakfast.  

    2. Key Club Carnival
      5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Hutchinson High School Key Club is having a kids carnival Saturday March, 15 from 5pm to 8pm. Proceeds go to “Pennies for Patients” which sponsors the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Come and join the fun. Tickets are 50 cents each, each game is one ticket. There will be concessions available.

      9:00 am – 12:30 pm

      Cedar Mills Rod and Gun Club is hosting their monthly Pancake Brunch on Sunday, March 16th from 9 am – 12:30 pm.  Serving All you can eat Regular and Potato Pancakes, French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, and more.  Adults are $8, Ages 6-12 are $4, and under 5 are free.  

    2. Brownton Chili Feed
      11:00 am – 2:00 pm

      The Brownton Congregational Church presents their Chili Dinner on Sunday, March 16th from 11a-2p a the church. On the menu is Chili, Garlic Bread, Dessert, and Beverage…or choose a hot dog and chips.  Take Outs available.

    1. Renville County Caregiver Support Group
      1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

      The Next Renville County Caregiver Support Group will be Tuesday, March 18th from 1:30-3 pm at the Willette Room of the RC Hospital in Olivia.  All are welcome, the group is free of charge.  Speaker this month is Stacie Roxberg, LSW from Golden Living Center on Caregiving and Alzheimer’s

    1. 3M Food Packing Event
      12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      3M Cares presents a Food for Kidz packing event on Thursday, March 20th from Noon-5 pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.  Donations are needed to help pay for the food, plus you can join them in making the food packets.  

    2. NCA Spaghetti Dinner
      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      New Century Academy’s competitive Robotics team is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser on Thursday, March 20th from 5p-7p at the school in Hutchinson (east of 3M on 5th Ave).  The menu consists of Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Lettuce Salad, Breadstick, Dessert and Beverages.  Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door and are $6/person or $3 for children age 10 and under.

    1. Art Presentation
      9:00 am – 10:00 am

      Students are invited to Martin Luther High School, Northrop for an Art Adventure Presentation given by MLHS students who were trained at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, studying the theme “Family, Friends and Foes.” They will use reproductions of the original art work in their presentations. Sessions are: Friday, March 21st 9:00 a.m.for students in grades 7-12 and Tuesday, March 25th at 11:00 a.m. for students in grades 1-8.     2. Lake Lillian Smelt Fry
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The United Lutheran Church of Lake Lillian is having their Smelt Fry on Friday March 21st.  Serving all you can eat from 4-7 pm.  Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-12, and 5 and under free.  

    3. Cosmos Legion Fish Fry
      4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

      Fish Fry at the Cosmos Legion is coming up on Friday, March 21st from 4:30 pm until gone.  All you can eat Pollack, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Baked Potato, Bread and Beverage.  Cost is $10 for adult, $5 for child under 12.

    4. Benefit Wine and Beer Tasting
      5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Join Team Hunt for a Cure for a Wine and Beer Tasting on Friday, March 21st from 5-8 pm at the Crow River Winery of Hutchinson.  Cost is $10 for wine tasting, $2 for beer special.  There will also be games to win prizes.  Proceeds raised go to the team, who is participating in the 3 day 60 mile Walk in August.

      You’re invited to the 28th annual Mcleod County Spring Pheasants Forever Banquet on Saturday, March 22nd at the Mcleod County Fairgrounds in Hutchinson.  Cackling Hour at 4 pm, Dinner at 6 pm, Events at 7 pm.  There will be a raffle, special auction items, and more.
