    1. Chili Feed
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Lake Mary VFW Post 9232 is hosting their 5th annual Chili Feed on Saturday, Jan 18th at the Winsted American Legion.  The feed runs from 4 pm – 7 pm or until gone.  Cost is $8 for advance tickets, $9 at the door, and kids 10 and under are $4.  On the menu is Chili, Cornbread, garlic bread, veggies and more!

    1. Bouja and Chicken Noodle Soup Sale
      8:30 am – 12:00 pm

      Bouja and Chicken Noodle Soup will be on sale at St Anthony’s Church in Watkins.  Serving from 8:30 am to 12 noon on Sunday Jan 19. Bouja is $12 per gallon, and Chicken Noodle Soup is $11.00 per gallon.  You may also pre-order by calling Larry Flaschenriem at 320 764-2965.

    2. Hamburg Pancake Breakfast
      8:30 am – 12:30 pm

      Hamburg Lions Club will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast, Sunday Jan 19 from 8:30 – 12:30 at the Hamburg Community Hall. The menu consists of Pancakes, sausages, scrambles eggs, apple sauce, coffee, milk and juice. Proceeds of the day will go to Lions Project: Leader Dog and Can Do Canines.

    3. Cedar Mills Pancake Brunch
      9:00 am – 12:30 pm

      The Cedar Mills Rod and Gun Club is hosting their monthly Pancake Brunch on Sunday, Jan 19th from 9 am to 12:30 pm at the Club.  On the Menu is regular and potato pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, and more!  Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for ages 6-12, and under 5 are free.  

    4. Pancake Breakfast in Hector
      9:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. John’s Catholic Church of Hector is having their annual Pancake breakfast on Sunday, Jan 19.  The men will be serving at the American Bar and Grill in Hector from 9 am – 1 pm.  The menu includes pancakes, French toast, ham and eggs, applesauce and beverage.  Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 5-10, and free for 4 and under.  All are invited.

    5. Depot program
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      The Mcleod County Historical Society presents “Shadows of Time, Minnesota’s Surviving Depots” on Sunday, Jan 19th from 2-3 pm at the Museum’s Eductional Media Center in Hutchinson.  Author Bill Schrankler will talk about Minnesota remaining railroad depots, including two from Mcleod County.  More info can be found at mcleodhistory.org

    6. Hutchinson Church of God presents “October Baby”
      6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Hutchinson Church of God invites you to the Free Movie “October Baby”.  Showtimes at their church are Sunday, Jan 19th at 6 pm and Wednesday, Jan 22nd at 7 pm.  The movie shares the story of a college student who finds out she was adopted after a failed abortion attempt and she embarks on a journey to find her hidden past.

    1. Singing Friends Rehersals
      7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Singing Friends Chorus vocal ensemble starts rehearsals for the spring concert season on Tuesday, Jan 21st.   This 30-voice, all-ages community choir, centered in McLeod, Sibley, and Carver counties, performs in many area communities.  No auditions are required to sing with the chorus.  If you are interested in singing, please come to an open rehearsal on Tuesday, January 21st or January 28th at 7:30 pm at All Saints Lutheran Church, Norwood Young America.  For more information, please call director Karen de Boer at (320) 864-2742.

    1. Waconia Ride In
      5:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      The 24th annual Waconia Ride In will be Friday-Sunday (Jan 24-26th).  It’s the world’s largest vintage and antique snowmobile event.  Featured snowmobiles this year is Yamaha.  At the event includes a swap meet, races, trail rides, loud snowmobile contest, silent auction and more!

    1. Gopher Campfire Fishing Contest
      12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      Gopher Campfire is holding their annual Trout Pond Fishing Contest on Saturday, Jan 25th from Noon-3 pm at the club grounds.  For information you can go to gophercampfire.com

    1. St. Peters Pancake and Bratwurst Dinner
      11:00 am – 5:00 pm

      St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Gibbon is holding their Pancake and Bratwurst Dinner on Sunday, Jan 26th from 11 am – 5 pm.  The all you can eat dinner is available for just a free will offering.  Also stop by the “Sven and Ole” Book Fair in the meeting room also.

    2. GSL FFA Donkey Basketball
      5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      The GSL FFA is presenting Donkey Basketball on Sunday, Jan 26th at 5 pm at the High School Gym.  All Local Players will be riding and competing including FFA members, School Staff, Fire Department members, and GSL Basketball Players.  Kiddie Rides will be given to the first 125 kids signing up.  Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door and available from an FFA member.

    1. Mcleod Council Meeting
      7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      MCLEOD COUNCIL OF THE AMERICAN LEGION AND AUXILIARY will meet on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 7:30 PM at the Glencoe Fire Hall.   Glencoe Post No. 95 will serve as the Host.

    2. The Cats Pajamas in Concert
      7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Watertown Mayer HS Music Department is presenting the Branson, MO group “The Cat’s Pajama’s” in concert on Tuesday, Jan 28th at 7:30 pm at the High School.  The acapella group (as seen on NBC’s the sing off) performs pop classics as well as new contemporary hits in a world class show for the family.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and proceeds from the concert benefit the WM Music Programs.

    1. Kingston Spagetti Supper
      5:00 pm – 7:30 pm

      The Kingston Apostolic Lutheran Church is hosting their 6th annual Spagetti Supper on Friday, Jan 31st from 5-7:30 pm at the church.  On the Menu is Spagetti with Tomato Sauce or Alfredo Sauce, Salad, Garlic Bread, and Sundae.  Donations accepted the church benefitting the Building Fund.

    1. Pie and Ice Cream Sale
      11:00 am – 7:00 pm

      The LWML of Emanuel Lutheran Church will host a pie and ice cream sale from 11 am-7 pm on Saturday, Feb 1 at the Hamburg Hunting and Fishing Club Fish Fry.  Proceeds given to Philippines Relief through Samaritan’s Purse.

    2. Green Isle Dinner Show
      6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Annual Dinner Show is presented by the Green Isle Lions on Saturday, Feb 1st at the GI School gym.  Social hour at 6 pm, Dinner 7 pm.  Cost is just a $20 donation.  Cash Prizes, Silent Auction, and Door Prizes all we be a part of the event, plus enjoy entertainment from Elvis and Frank Sinatra.

    1. Potato Pancake and Sausage Dinner
      9:00 am – 3:00 pm

      The 63rd annual Potato Pancake and Sausage Dinner will take place Sunday, Feb 2nd at the First Lutheran Church of Glencoe.  On the menu is all you can eat Potato and Regular pancakes, sausage, applesause, cheese, ice cream, and beverage.  Serving from 9 am – 3 pm.  Cost is $9 for adults, $5 for ages 4-12 and under 3 free.  Take outs available.

    2. Turkey and Ham Dinner
      10:30 am – 2:00 pm

      St. Pius X Catholic School in Glencoe is having their Turkey and Ham Dinner on Sunday, Feb 2nd from 10:30 am – 2 pm at the church.  On the Menu, Turkey, Ham, and a whole bunch of side dishes!  Cost is $9 for adults, $5 for children, under 2 are free.  Tickets available at Hite Hardward and at the Church Parish Office.  Also enjoy Bingo at the event!  

    3. Soup-er Bowl Dinner
      12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

      You’re invited to the “Soup”er Bowl dinner at the Hutchinson Church of God on Sunday, Feb 2nd from Noon – 2 pm at the church.  They’ll be serving Chili, Chicken Noodle Soup, Tomato Basil Soup and more!  All are welcome.

    4. Stewart Lions meat raffle
      2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

      The Stewart Lions present a meat raffle at 2 pm and progressive bingo at 3 pm every Sunday at Cactus Jacks.  Everyone is welcome.

    1. Hutch Legion Spagetti Supper
      4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring their next Spagetti Supper on Thursday, Feb 6 from 4:30 – 7:00 pm at the Legion Club Room (use east entrance).  Adults are $6.50, Children under 12 are $3, Takeouts are available.

    1. Carver Fire Relief Benefit
      4:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Carver Fire Relief is hosting an all you can eat Chili Feed on Friday, Feb 7th from 4:30-8:30 pm.  The event will benefit two local girls with medical expenses:  Madysen Pederson (daughter of Ryan and Amy) who has been diagnosed with Adamantinoma, and Abigail Lindall (daughter of Nate and Susan) who has been diagnosed with Craniopharyngioma.  Cost is $8 for Adults, $4 for kids.  

    2. Cosmos Fish Fry
      4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

      The Cosmos Legion is hosting their Fish Fry on Friday, Feb 7th from 4:30 pm until gone.  $10 is the cost for all you can eat, including the fish, baked potato, coleslaw, and beverage.

    1. Family Fun Day
      2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      The Cedar Mills Gun Club is holding their annual Family Fun Day on Saturday, Feb 8th from 2-5 pm at the Club.  Food, Pop, Water, and Beer will be available.  Enjoy Bingo and Raffles with prizes throughout the day, plus you can check out the club’s new addition.  

    2. Pre Valentines Waffle Supper
      4:30 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Blessed John Paul II Area Faith Community Pre-Valentine’s Waffle Supper, Silent Auction & Bake Sale will be on Saturday, February 8 at Crow River Winery, Hutchinson.  Serving from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m., take-outs available.  Advance tickets are $6.50 or $7.00 at the door.  Tickets available from Holy Family – Silver Lake, Holy Trinity – Winsted or St. Pius X – Glencoe parish offices, or contact Gerald Kucera at 320-327-2441

    3. Habitat for Humanity Fundraiser
      7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Mcleod County Habitat for Humanity is holding their “Raise a Glass, Raise a roof” Fundraiser on Saturday, Feb 8th from 7-9 pm at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts.  Admission is $35 and includes heavy Hors D’ouerves, one drink, and live music by the Segues.  Tickets available at the Habitat Office.

    1. Brownton Schafskopf Tournament
      8:00 am – 9:00 am

      The 41st annual Brownton Baseball Schasfskopf Tournament will be on Sunday, Feb 9th at the Brownton Community Center for Sessions 1 & 3.  Donation Tickets are $1, need not be present to win.  

    2. Hector Flapjack Festival
      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Hector Lion’s Club is hosting their all you can eat Flapjack Festival on Sunday, Feb 9 from 8 am – Noon at the American Bar and Grill in Hector.  Cost is a free will donation for flapjacks with fresh fruit toppings, French toast, sausage, and beverage.  Proceeds to support BLHS School Safety Patrol. 

    3. Community Bingo
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      Area Senior Citizens are invited to play Community Bingo on Sunday, Feb 9 from 2-3 PM in the dining room at Ecumen Pines! Community Bingo will be .25 cents per card, with the last game being a coverall and is $1.00 per card – WINNER TAKES ALL! Community Bingo is offered the 2nd Sunday of EACH month with complimentary coffee and snack immediately following.
