    1. Help your local animal shelter
      8:00 am – 10:00 pm

      During the month of April help collect supplies for the local animal shelter. There is a list of items you can donate at the Liquor Hutch, plus a place to drop off your supplies at the same spot. Then on 30th there will be a Pet Adoption Day at the Liqor Hutch from 10a-Noon.

    1. Carter Renner Blood Drive
      10:00 am – 4:00 pm

      You are invited to give blood in honor of Carter Renner on Friday, April 29th at the Hutchinson Mall from 10a-4p. In addition to the blood drive there is a bone marrow registry going on also. For more info go to redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code CRBD.

    2. Salad Luncheon
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Pauls United Church of Christ in Plato is having a Salad Luncheon on Friday, April 29th from 11a-1p. Cost is $8 and Take out orders are available.

    3. KMS Fundraiser
      6:30 pm – 11:45 pm

      The KMS Marching Saints have been selected to represent Minnesota at the 75th Anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 2016.  The Saints will be playing on the USS Missouri.In order to help reduce the cost of this once in a lifetime opportunity, and to help make it available to all students; they are hosting many fundraisers-in addition to the students working and saving.  The next fundraiser is a dinner and Johnny Holms concert at McKinney’s in Benson, MN on Friday, April 29th. The dinner is steak & shrimp with salad, potato, vegetable, bun, & cake from 6:30-8:00.  Then the Johnny Holms concert from 8:30-midnight.  The dinner is $20 & the concert is $20.  The events are separate. Tickets are on sale from any band member.

    1. Family Fun Day
      10:00 am – 2:00 pm

      Cedar Mills Gun Club invites you to the 1st Annual Family Fun Day/2nd Amendment Celebration Shoot taking place April 30th at the Cedar Mills Gun Club.  This event will be promoting the safe use of firearms to all youth & adults featuring shooting & trap contests, with trained supervision, using rifles, pistols and shotguns, for ages 6-96.  Winners of all adult contests will receive a cash prize, and youth winners will win one of (3) new Ruger 10/22 rifles. There will be a $10 fee for contest entry and a ticket will be included for a chance to win one of 3 new guns plus many other prizes. A fully catered meal of Beef Brisket, Coleslaw & Brisket Chili will be sponsored by the Meeker County Republican Party using the services of Ben’s BBQ Pit of Grove City. Any other expected concessions will be available. Shooting Event signup will begin at 10am, on April 30th, with youth contests starting early & adults following. The festivities will end mid afternoon at the conclusion of the gun raffle drawings.

      Crow River Habitat for Humanity has a few events coming up:

      Sat, April 30: Ground Blessing for their 24th Habitat Homebuyer at 504 Hilltop Dr NE, Hutchinson, 10:30 am

      Fri May 13: 11th annual Hammer and Nails Dinner at Crow River Golf Club from 5:30-9pm. Tickets are $45, to purchase call 587-8868

      Sat May 21: They will be selling concessions at the Kahnke Tree Auction

    3. Salad Luncheon
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. John Lutheran Church of Hollywood is holding their Salad Luncheon on Saturday, April 30th from 11a-1p. Adults are $8, Children 5-12 are $3, and under 4 is free.

    4. Spring Tea
      1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

      The Brownton Congregational Church hosts their Spring Tea on Saturday, April 30th at 1 pm. $6 per person, Door Prizes awarded.

    5. Singing Friends Chorus
      2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
      The Singing Friends Chorus will round out its 12th concert season with two performances on Saturday, April 30th at 2:00 pm
       at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia, and on Sunday, May 1st at 2:00 pm at Church of Peace in Norwood Young America. 
      This spring's concert of "Favorites, Old and New" ranges from works by Mozart, Brahms and Gretchaninoff to Love Changes
      Everything 
      by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Crazy by Willie Nelson.  A freewill donation will be taken at the door.

      3:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      You are invited to the Joy 4 Jon Fundraiser on Saturday, April 30th at the Kingston Community Center. A Silent Auction will be held from 3:30-6 pm, and an Italian Pasta Bar starts at 6 pm. Proceeds will go to the medical bills of the Jon Wayne Laney family, as Jon fights Acute Myeloid Luekemia.

    1. Walk MS
      10:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The 4th annual Walk MS Hutchinson is Sunday, May 1st along the Crow River at the West Masonic Riverside Park. Registration will begin at 10 am with the walk beginning at 11 am. Preregistration can be done at walkms.org or by calling 855-372-1331.  

    2. Carnival Fundraiser
      11:00 am – 5:00 pm

      You are invited to a Carnival Fundraiser for Harley Carnes on Sunday, May 1st from 11a-5p at the Mcleod County Fairgrounds in Hutchinson. Proceeds raised will help with the families medical expenses after Harley was in a serious car accident in 2015.  

    3. Pork Chop Dinner
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church of Hamburg has their Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, May 1st, Serving from 11a-1p. Everyone is welcome. Cost is $10 for adult, $5 for a child’s Hot Dog Meal.  

    4. Brownton Bike a Thon
      1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      The Brownton Womens Club has their Bike-a-thon for K-6th grade children on Sunday, May 1st at the Brownton City Park at 1 pm. Kids who plan to ride should go and get pledges for your ride, and parents can pick up registration and pledge material at the Brownton City Offices. Prizes will be awarded and all proceeds will be used for Brownton Community Projects and Events.

      There are two events coming up in Hutchinson for National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5th. The first event starts at Noon at Library Square, while the second event starts at 7 pm at Cross Point Church.  

    2. Today’s Women of Hutchinson
      6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      The next meeting of Todays Women of Hutchinson in Thursday, May 5th at 6:30 pm in the Lower Level of Harmony River. Please use the west entrance. Any Q’s call Linda at 320-587-0426.

    1. Fairfax City Wide Garage Sales
      7:15 am – 8:15 am

      Fairfax is having their City Wide Garage Sales on May 6th and 7th. 25 sales throughout town and country.

    2. Pork Chop Dinner
      4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

      The United Lutheran Church of Lake Lillian has their Pork Chop Dinner on Friday, May 6th from 4:30-7pm at the church. Featuring “Famous Don’s” Pork Chops, Baked Potatoes, Cole Slaw and more! A one chop dinner is $10, 2 chop dinner is $13.

      The Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary is holding a Pillow Cleaning on Saturday, May 7th from 7a-1p at the Days Inn in Hutchinson.

    2. Common Cup 5K
      8:30 am – 12:00 pm

      Common Cup Ministries are holding a 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, May 7th at Masonic West River Park in Hutchinson. Registration starts at 8:30 am, Walk at 10 am, and the run at 10:30 am. Registration forms and more information is available at common-cup.org

    3. Ness Nordic Fest
      11:00 am – 3:00 pm

      Ness Nordic Fest is Saturday, May 7th from 11a-3p at the Historic Ness Church of Litchfield. Free admission to this event for all ages. Featuring music by Skal Klubben Spelmanslag, quilt raffle, concessions and bake sale, ethnic foods and egg coffee…and more!

    1. Equul Access Fundraiser
      11:00 am – 9:00 pm

      Help raise money for Equul Access on Monday, May 9th. From 11a-9p 15%of your total bill at Buffalo Wild Wings in Hutchinson will be donated to Equul Access to help with youth horse therapies.  

    2. Spring Firearms Safety Classes
      6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Gopher Campfire is holding their Spring Firearms Safety classes starting May 9th from 6-9 pm. The class is for anyone 12 years of age and older who wishes to hunt in any state that require a firearms safety certificate in order to buy a license. Cost is $7.50 and all materials will be supplied.For Questions or to register call 320-587-3153.  

    3. Brownton Legion May Meeting
      7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      The Edward Ewald American Legion Post 143 and Auxiliary of Brownton will hold their next meeting on Monday, May 9th at the Brownton Community Center at 7:30 pm.

      The Brownton Congregational Church will hold their Community Dinner on Wednesday, May 11th from 5-7 pm with a free will offering. The Dinner is hosted the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

      The Hutchinson Legion Auxiliary has their Poppy Day on Friday, May 13th from 6a-6p. The event benefits Veterans so look for them when you are out to show your support.  

    2. Kids Garage Sale

      St. Anastasia’s Kids Garage Sale is Friday, May 13th from 9a-7p at the church. Find everything from infant to teen clothing, toys, books, games, and more.  

    3. Habitat Hammer and Nails Event
      5:30 pm – 9:00 pm

      Mcleod County Habitat for Humanity has their Hammer and Nails Fundraising event on Friday, May 13th from 5:30-9 pm at the Crow River Golf Club of Hutchinson. It’s an evening of Dinner, music, auctions, raffles, and games. Tickets are $45 and available at the Habitat office or by calling 587-8868

    1. Mail Carrier Food Drive
      7:15 am – 8:15 am

      The National Association of Letter Carriers will be conducting their 24th annual Food Drive. Mail customers in Glencoe and Hutchinson are asked to place non perishable food items next to their mail boxes on Saturday, May 14th and their mail carriers will pick them up. All donations will be delivered to the Mcleod Emergency Food Shelf.

    1. Law Enforcement Ceremony
      4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      Everyone is invited to a Law Enforcement Week Ceremony on Sunday, May 15th at 4 pm at the Masonic West River Park Bandshell in Hutchinson. The 1 hour ceremony will honor and support the brave men and women who serve our communities. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets please.
