    1. Pet Supplies Drive
      7:15 am – 8:15 am

      The 2nd Annual Help Our Local Animals Supplies drive is going on now through the end of April.  All donations will be given directly to the Hutchinson Heart of MN Animal Shelter. Donations can be cash, charge, or supply items.  They will be taken at the Liquor Hutch from 8 am – 10 pm Monday through Saturday.  A list from the “Heart of MN Animal Shelter” will be available at the Liquor Hutch.

    1. HL Bloodmobile
      1:00 pm – 6:45 pm

      The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Howard Lake at St. James Lutheran School on Tuesday, April 28th from 1-6:45 pm.  Appointments are preferred, walk ins welcome.  For an appointment call Donna at 320-543-2444.

    1. Spring Luncheon
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      The Litchfield United Methodist Church is having their Spring Luncheon on Wednesday, April 29th from 11a-1p.  Adults are $8, Children 5-12 are $2,and under 5 is free.

    2. Pulled Pork Supper
      4:30 pm – 6:30 pm

      St. John’s Catholic Church of Hector is serving a pulled pork and german potato salad or Scalloped Potatoes Supper in the church hall on Wednesday, April 29th from 4:30-6:30p.  Cost is $6 for adults, $1 for an extra sandwich, and $3 for ages 5-12.  Proceeds support Religious education and youth ministry.

      The Glencoe Concert Association Board will be busing tables for tips at Unhinged! Pizza on Thursday, April 30th, from 4 – 8 p.m.

    1. Fairfax City Wide Sales
      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      Fairfax City Wide Garage Sales are May 1st and 2nd.  Many sale throughout the town and country.  

    2. Evening of Bluegrass and Gospel
      7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      The 4th annual Evening of Bluegrass and Gospel Music will be Friday, May 1st at the DC Performing Arts Center at 7 pm  Free will donation admission.  Music from: The Froemming Family-Allen and Matt-The Flemming Fold-The Alzen Family-Navigating North-The Minkin Family-The Mahlstedt Family.

    1. Salad Luncheon
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hollywood is having their Salad Luncheon on Saturday, May 2nd from 11a-1p.  Adults are $7, Children ages 5-12 are $3, and under 4 is free.  

    2. Singing Friends Chorus
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      The Singing Friends Chorus will present two spring variety concerts: on Saturday, May 2nd at 2 pm at St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany.  The 2nd on Sunday, May 3rd at 2 pm at Church of Peace in NYA.  Admission is by freewill donation.  There will be a light reception after each concert.

    2. LP Spring Luncheon
      10:30 am – 12:30 pm

      Bethel Lutheran Church of Lester Prairie has their Spring Luncheon on Sunday, May 3rd from 10:30a-12:30p.  Serving Shredded Turkey, Hot Dogs, and Fancy Desserts.  Also bid on the silent auction.  

    3. Pork Chop Dinner
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church of Hamburg has a Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, May 3rd, serving from 11a-1p.  Everyone Welcome.  Cost is $10 per adult, $5 for Childs hot dog meal.  

    4. Derby Day Fundraiser
      12:30 pm – 3:00 pm

      You are invited to a Kentucky Derby Day Fundraiser for Equul Access on Sunday, May 3rd at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts and Zellas Restaurant.  The event runs from 12:30-3pm, lunch served at 1 pm.  Wear your most outrageous Derby outfit, Derby Hat contest with prizes, Kids Jockey outfit Contest, Photo opportunities with horses and more!  Tickets are $30 for age 13 and older, $15 for 12 and under.  Contact Marsha at 320-296-3227 for Tickets.  Proceeds benefit equine therapeutic activities for those with special needs.  

    5. Brownton Bike A Thon
      1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      The Brownton Fire Department is holding a Bike A Thon on Sunday, May 3rd from 1-4 pm, starting at the Brownton Lions Shelter.  All K-6th grade students are encouraged to participate, and anyone can sponsor a biker.  Prizes are given out, including a new bike to the person with the most pledges.  Proceeds from the event will be used by the Fire Dept for new fire and rescue equipment.

    6. Drawn to the Word
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      Peace Lutheran Church of Watertown presents the program “Drawn to the Word” on Sunday, May 3rd at 7 pm.  The program is presented by pastor and artist Paul Oman, who will give a program of singing and reading while he paints.  Free will offering taken, coffee and dessert following the program.

      The Lester Prairie Legion Auxiliary presents a Pillow Cleaning event on Thursday, May 7th from 7:30a-3p at the LP City Hall.  New Ticking, Cleaning, and returned the same day.

    2. Salad Luncheon for World Hunger
      11:00 am – 1:00 pm

      Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop invites you to their Salad Luncheon for World Hunger on Thursday, May 7th from 11a-1p.  Cost is $7, Take Outs available.  

    3. Concert and Art Prowl
      5:00 pm – 8:15 pm

      The 2nd grade students of Helen Baker Elementary will be having their spring concert on Thursday, May 7th in the GSL High School Auditorium starting at 7 pm.  In conjunction with the concert the GSL PreK-12 Art Prowl will run as an open house from 5-8:15 pm in the cafeteria and gym.

      9:00 am – 7:00 pm

      St. Anastasia’s Kids Garage Sale is Friday, May 8th from 9a-7p in their School Gym.  Most items are a quarter, from 5-7 it’s $2 to fill a grocery bag.   Selling clothing, toys, games, books, furniture and more!

    1. Food Drive
      8:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The National Association of Letter Carriers are conducting their 23rd annual Food Drive on Saturday, May 9th.  City and Rural Carriers will collect non perishable food items left by your mail box. Locally all food collected will be donated to the Mcleod Emergency Food Shelf.

    2. Common Cup 5K
      9:00 am – 10:00 am

      Common Cup Ministry of Hutchinson is having their 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, May 9th at West Masonic Park.  Each registered participant receives lunch, tshirt and a backpack.  Registration forms are available at the Common Cup offices.  Cost is $25 individual, $35 couple, $50 families.  Pre registration deadline is April 27th, but same day registrations can be taken (add $5 to fee for same day).  

    3. Ness Nordic Fest
      11:00 am – 4:00 pm

      Join in a celebration of the Nordic cultures (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Icelandic) at the 1st annual Ness Nordic Fest to be held at the 1858 historic Ness Church located SW of Litchfield on Saturday, May 9th from 11a-4p with a children’s parade at 1p.  The festival features a Viking Age encampment, music, story telling and games of Kubb.  Admission is free and Scandinavian foods will be sold throughout the day including lefse, rommegrot, vaffler and more!  Wear your Nordic costume if you have one.  For more info contact Gabra Lokken at 320.234.8979 or email sofnhutchinson@yahoo.com.

    1. Memorial Day Program
      9:30 am – 11:00 am

      The Hutchinson VFW and American Legion will hold their Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, May 25th.  The Parade will leave the Legion at 9:30 am and proceed to Mcleod County Memorial Park.  Program will be at 10 am.

    1. Ride to Save Lives
      11:30 am – 6:00 pm

      It’s the 3rd annual Ride to Save Lives Motorcycle and Bus Run on Saturday, July 11th.  Proceeds benefit SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education)  $20 per biker, $5 per rider, or you can ride the bus at $15 per person.  The ride is in memory of Mike Thaemert and starts at 11:30 am at Knuckleheads in Mayer.  The ride will end back at Knuckleheads also.
