    1. Challenge Grant Month at McLeod Food Shelf
      8:00 am – 1:00 pm

      The McLeod Emergency Food Shelf and Open your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless announce  the Food Shelf Challenge Grant.  Open Your Heart will match donations to the Mcleod Emergency Food Shelf during the month of July, up to $5,000.  Non perishable donations may be brought to either location (Hutchinson and Glencoe) between 8 am and 1 pm.  Cash Donations preferred at Glencoe.

    1. DC Presents Les Miserables
      7:00 pm – 2:00 pm

      The Dassel Cokato Community Theatre presents “Les Misérables” for 6 shows.  Performances are scheduled over two weekends: Saturday, July 19 at 7 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 24 at 7 p.m., Friday, July 25 at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 26 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m.  Performances will be held in the Dassel-Cokato Performing Arts Center located at the D-C High School. Reserved seat tickets are $7 for youth (18 and under) and $15 for adults. Tickets may be purchased online at www.dc.k12.mn.us/pac or in person or by phone through the Dassel-Cokato Community Education office at 320-286-4120. Tickets will also be available at the door, beginning one hour prior to each performance.

    1. CCW Rummage Sale at St. Pius X School
      8:00 am – 2:00 pm

      St. Pius X School in Glencoe will host its CCW Rummage Sale on Thursday and Friday, July 24th and 25th, in the school’s Gymnasium and Sarto Room. The sale will feature clothes and flea market items. Clothes and selected items will be priced at $6.00 per bag. Thursday’s hours will be from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, and Friday’s hours will be from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

    2. Plato Lions Blood Drive
      1:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      Bloodmobile in Plato – July 26th
      The Plato Lions Club is sponsoring a blood drive on Thursday, July 24th, at Discover Church (10478 Bell Avenue), along Highway 212.  Hours for the blood drive will be from 1:00 – 7:00 PM.  If you’re at least 17 years of age (or 16 with a signed Parent/Guardian Consent Form), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in good health, you’re encouraged to donate.  To make an appointment, call Ken or Myra at 320-238-2370.

    3. Martin Benefit
      4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Gaylord Legion is hosting a benefit for Todd Martin on Thursday, July 24th from 4-8 pm at the Club.  Free Will Donation for the Meal, plus a silent auction.  Martin is battling Kidney Cancer.

    4. Cologne Glad Days
      7:00 pm – 11:00 pm

      Check out Cologne’s Glad Days July 24th-26th.  On the 24th it’s the Garden Party at 7 pm.  On the 25th it’s Softball, Kids Fest, and the Rum Runners Band.  And on the 26th enjoy sports tournaments, Sheep Head Tournament, Kids Pedal Pull, Music, Petting Zoo, Bounce House, Lumberjack Show, Free Beer, Blurred Vision, and MUCH MORE!

    1. Glencoe Days REVISTED
      5:00 pm – 11:45 pm

      The Glencoe Chamber of Commerce announces that Glencoe Days REVISITED will be Friday, July 25th in the west parking area at Glencoe City Center.  Free community corn feed from 5-8 pm with cheese burgers and nachos for sale as well.  Roadhouse 6 will take to the stage from 8-12 pm.  FIREWORKS at dusk.  (the original Glencoe Days were rained/flooded out)

    2. Final Gibbon Concert for Season
      7:15 pm – 8:45 pm

      The Gibbon Area Uncommon Band of Renown concludes its 2014 Summer Season with a Farewell Community Concert in Gibbon City Park on Friday, July 25th, beginning at 7:15 pm. In this popular concert, the director invites each section of the band to chose its favorite song to play. Members of the Gibbon Book Buddies will be serving hot food, beverages, and their delicious pies.

    1. Moms Day on the Farm
      9:00 am – 3:30 pm

      The Minnesota CattleWomen’s Association will be hosting a Mom’s Day on the Farm Event on Saturday, July 26th from 9am-3:30pm at the Schiefelbein Farms near Kimball. Moms can Tour a Farm, Explore how beef gets from the pasture to your plate, Participate in discussions on issues which interest you most about modern beef production, and Learn how to select and cook the perfect steak on the grill for maximum taste and tenderness. There is no charge to attend a Farm Tour, but space is limited.     2. Glencoe Heat in the Street
      5:00 pm – 11:00 pm

      The Glencoe Fire Dept Relief Association is presenting their Heat in the Street concert Fundraiser on Saturday, July 26th at the Glencoe City Center.  Gates open at 5 pm.  Hear music from the Iron Horse Group, The Outlaws, Blackhawk, and Country Music Superstar Josh Thompson.  All Proceeds benefit the Glencoe Fire Dept Relief Association.

    1. SL Pancake Breakfast
      9:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Silver Lake American Legion is holding a pancake breakfast on Sunday, July 27th from 9a-Noon.  All you can eat Regular or Potato Pancakes, Scrambled Egs, Sausage, Ham and more!  Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for kids. 

    2. Beep Baseball
      12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      The Glencoe Beep Baseball game has been rescheduled for July 27th at 1 pm in the large grassy area near Coborn’s Car Wash.  The original game was scheduled during Glencoe Days before being flooded out.  A team of local celebrities wearing blind folds will take on a vision impaired team in, the Minnesota Millers.  Food is available starting at noon.  All are Welcome!

    3. LP Ice Cream Social
      3:30 pm – 6:30 pm

      St. Peter Lutheran Church of Lester Prairie is having their annual Ice Cream Social, Country Store, Bake Sale and Craft Sale on Sunday, July 27th.  Serving from 3:30-6:30 pm.  On the menu is Burgers, Hot Dogs, BBQ’s, Beans, Potato Salad, Pie, Ice Cream, Root Beer Floats, and beverage.  Take outs are available.

    1. Glencoe Music in the Park
      6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Glencoe Lions Club Music In The Park is coming up on Wednesday, July 30th at Oak Leaf Park.  Free Live Music performed by Jack Noenning and the Community Strings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  A hot sandwich meal, with chips, pickles, dessert and beverage is available, serving from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Proceeds go to community projects.  Bring a chair and bring your friends.

    1. Co Ed Kickball Tournament
      2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

      The Hutchinson Youth Lacrosse Association is holding their first annual CO ED Kickball Tournament on Aug 9th.  Deadline to sign up for the event is Thursday, July 31st.  You can sign up for youth teams or adult teams.  Teams must be made up of half males and half females.  Cost is $40 for an adult team, $25 for youth team.  For more info or to sign up a team contact Julie Craig 320-583-5127

      St. Paul’s Lutheran Church WELCA of hector invites all to their Salad Luncheon on Wednesday, Aug 6th serving at Noon in the church fellowship hall.  Following lunch, the guest speaker is Marge Lundeen with “A Time to Dance”.

      Our Savior’s Lutheran Church is having their annual Ice Cream Social on Thursday, Aug 7th from 4-6:30 pm.  Enjoy Turkey Salad Sandwiches, BBQ’s, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Pie, Ice Cream, Root Bear Floats and Beverages.  Take outs available.

    2. Gaylord Eggstravaganza
      6:30 pm – 12:00 pm

      Enjoy Gaylord’s Eggstravaganza from Aug 7-10!  Events start with the Gaylord Pool Show on Aug 7th.  Friday, Aug 8th includes the EGGceptional breakfast, other food stands and events, the Zoo Man, Classic Car Cruise, and Entertainment.  Saturday, Aug 9th enjoy a taste of gaylord, Entertainment, Parade at 1 pm, Kids activities, games, coronation, fireworks and more!  Sunday, Aug 10th is the Ecumencial Worship Service at 10 am.

    1. Neumann Open House
      1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      The Mcleod Emergency Food Shelf is holding an open house at the Glencoe City Center, honoring the retiring Marietta Neumann and her 30 years of service to the Food Shelf.  The event will be held on Sunday, Aug 10th from 1-4 pm in the City Center ballroom.  No gifts please, but donations to the food shelf are most welcome.

    1. Plato Lions Golf Tournament
      11:00 am – 7:00 pm

      The Plato Lions encourage you and three of your golfing friends to form a team for their golf tournament, scheduled for Monday, August 11th, at the Glencoe Country Club.  The four person  scramble format will begin at 1:00 PM with a shot gun start.  Registration will start at 11:00 AM.  The cost is $40.00 per person for Glencoe Country Club members using their own carts, $50.00 per person for Glencoe Country Club members using the golf course’s carts, or $60.00 per person for non-members.  Registration fees after August 4th will be $10.00 more per foursome.  To register, contact Ron at 320-238-2285.  Proceeds will go to local Lions projects.

    2. Cokato Corn Carnival Book Sale
      2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      The annual Cokato Corn Carnival Book Sale is going on Monday and Tuesday, Aug 11/12 in the Cokato Library.  Hundreds of books at great prices!  Proceeds benefit the library.

    1. Benefit Softball Tournament
      8:30 am – 8:00 pm

      You are invited to participate in a Luck of the Draw Benefit CO-ED Softball Tournament on Saturday, August 16th at Oak Leaf Park in Glencoe.  Cost is $10 per person.  All Participants will have their names put into a hat and teams randomly drawn out.  A silent auction and bake sale is a part of the festivities as well.  All proceeds benefit Joyce Teubert and her battle with cancer.  Contact Lisa @ 320-420-2622 or Sandie @ 320-469-4405 for registration or Q’s.   All participants must be signed up before the start of the tourney.

    1. St. Andrew’s Fun Fest
      9:30 am – 4:00 pm

      Come and Join the fun at St. Andrew’s Fun Fest on Sunday, Aug 17th in Fairfax.  Mass at 9:30 am with music by Harry Wojohn and Deb Nelson.  Chicken Dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, beans, salad, and dessert is served from 10:30-1 pm  Adults are $10, Children (5-10) are $5, under 5 are free.  Enjoy afternoon music by Juice Belly, Cash Raffle, Games for all age, Quilt raffle, Country Store, Bingo, Food Stand and more on the church grounds from 10:30-4 pm.  Everyone is welcome!
