    1. Turkey Supper
      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

      St. John’s Catholic Church of Hector is having their annual Turkey Supper on Wed., Sept. 3rd from 4-7 pm.  Take outs available.  Menu includes: Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes and gravy, corn, coleslaw, cranberries, bread, ice cream, and a beverage.  Cost is $9.50 for adults, $4 for children 4-10.

    1. GSL ECFE Open House
      9:00 am – 7:30 pm

      Glencoe-Silver Lake Public Schools is having their Early Childhood and Family Education Open House and Playground Grand Opening.  The event will be on Thursday, September 4 from 9-11:30 am and 5-7:30 pm at the GSL Early Childhood Learning Center in Glencoe.   You can register for fall ECFE classes, meet the staff, play in the classrooms and indoor motor area, visit the ECFE library, and check out their new outdoor playground.   There will also be snacks and a chance to win door prizes.

    2. Firearms Safety
      6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Gopher Campfire is hosting their Firearms Safety class on September 4, 8, 11, and 15th.  The class is open to anyone 12 years of age and older and runs from 6-9 pm each night.  You must attend all of the session to pass the class.  Cost is $15, class size is limited and registration is required.  For Q’s or to register call 587-3153

    3. Today’s Women of Hutchinson Meeting
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Today’s women of Huthinson will hold their next meeting on Thursday, Sept. 4th at the Hutchinson Public Library.  Meeting begins at 7 pm.

    1. Cruisin for a Cure
      9:00 am – 12:00 pm

      The Cruisin for a Cure Motorcycle and Classic Car run will be Saturday, Sept, 6th.  Registration at 9 am, Wheels roll at 10:30 from Neisen’s Bar and Grill in Biscay.  Stops will be in Dassel, New Germany, and Stewart.  All money raised goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Q’s or Register contact Scott at 320-282-7817 or Steve at 320-583-3439

    2. Iron Run
      11:00 am – 5:00 pm

      The 3rd annual Antique Iron Run will be Saturday, Sept. 6th, leaving at 11 am from Kicker’s Bar and Grill in Litchfield.  No Registration, No Fee, just a Fun Run!  The Run is for Motorcycles from 1983 and older, but all bikes are welcome.  Prizes given for oldest bike, and furthest distance traveled.

    3. Plow Day
      11:00 am – 4:00 pm

      Hollywood’s 3rd annual Plow Day will be Saturday, Sept. 6th from 11-4 pm.  The event will be 2 miles Southwest of the Hollywood Sports Complex (16555 Utah Dr).  Free admission, food served by St. John’s Church of Hollywood.  Antique Tractor/Lawnmower/Horse Plows welcome.  

    4. Martin Benefit
      4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Cosmos Legion is hosting a benefit for Sue Martin on Saturday, Sept. 6th from 4-8 pm.  You can Enjoy a Spaghetti Dinner, Bid on the Silent Auction, shop at the bake sale, and enjoy entertainment.  Proceeds from the night go to Sue who’s battling Multiple Myeloma.  

    5. St. A’s Fall Festival
      4:30 pm – 4:00 pm

      St. Anastasia is having their Fall Festival on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 6/7) at their church.  On Saturday there is Mass at 4:30 pm, then an Outdoor Social at 5:30 pm with Food, Music, Country Store, Games and more!  On Sunday, a Polka Mass is at 10:30 am, Chicken Dinner from 11a-2 pm, and the Festival from 11a-4 pm.  Food, Entertainment, Raffles, Games, Auction, Stores, and more!

    1. Grace Lutheran Fall Festival
      8:45 am – 12:30 pm

      Grace Lutheran Church of Brownton is having their Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept. 7th.  A worship service starts things at 8:45 am, Pork Chop Dinner served from 10:30a-12:30p.  Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under (or $4 for a hot dog meal).  Also a part of the event is a basket raffle and a Country Store.

    2. St. Thomas More Fall Festival
      10:00 am – 1:00 pm

      The St. Thomas More Fall Festival and Raffle is coming up in Lake Lillian Sunday, Sept. 7.  Mass at 10 am, Ham Dinner served from 11a-1p.  Adults are $8, Children 12 and under are $4, and take outs are available.  Also stop by the bake sale, Garden Produce Sale, Raffle and more!

    3. Rueckert Fundraiser
      11:00 am – 6:00 pm

      The Healin’ ‘N Wheelin’ fundraiser for Nancy Rueckert of Litchfield is coming up on Sunday, Sept 7th at the Litchfield Civic Arena from 11a-6p.  Take part in the Bean Bag Tournament, Raffle, and Silent Auction.  Also at the event is a Kids Bounce House, Best Chili Contest, Taco Bar, Hot Dogs, Live Music and More!  Bring the Family!  This event will raise funds to be used toward a handicap accessible van for Nancy.

    1. Bras for a Cause
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      The Hutchinson Breast Cancer Support Group is again sponsoring the Bras for a Cause event.  Bring a Bra to decorate at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts on Sept. 9th from 7-8:30 pm.  You can then vote on your favorite bras from Sept. 9th-Oct 14th at the Center. Then on the 14th there will be a reception from 7-8 pm to announce the winners.  The event supports women with Breast Cancer.

    1. Food for Kidz Packing Event
      4:30 pm – 6:00 pm

      The community is invited to a Food for Kidz packing event at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Hutchinson on Wed, Sept 10, from 4:30-5:30 pm.  A light supper will be provided starting at 5:30 pm. Come pack for an hour or as long as you want. Donations to offset the costs of the meals are welcome.

    2. Oktoberfest in September
      5:30 pm – 8:00 pm

      It’s Oktoberfest in September on Wednesday, Sept. 10th at the Brownton City park.  Food Served Starting at 5:30 pm.  Enjoy Brats and Kraut, German Potato Salad, Beer, Hot Dogs, and Dessert.  Music by George’s Concertina Band from 6-8 pm.

    1. Blue Mass
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

      The Knights of Columbus of Silver Lake will host their annual Blue Mass on Thursday, Sept. 11th at 7 pm at the Church of the Holy Family.  Ambulance, Fire and Rescue, Military and Auxiliary, and Police Personnel are invited to attend in uniform.  Refreshments are served following the mass.

    1. NYA Relay for Life Fundraiser
      11:00 am – 2:00 pm

      The NYA Relay For Life is having a Pasta Dinner Fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 14th from 11a-2p at the Commons area of NYA Central High School.  Tickets are $10 for ages 6 and up in advance, and $5 for 5 and under.  Add $2 at the door.  On the menu is Chicken Alfredo or Marinara Meat Sauce, Ceasar Salad, Breadsticks, Dessert, and beverage.  Also enjoy music and the bake sale during the meal!

    1. Bingo in Winthrop
      7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

       

      Join the Winthrop Area Foundation for BINGO Monday’s in September (Sept. 15, 22, and 29).  Bingo will be Hahn’s Dining and Lounge at 7 pm.  16 Games per night, with a big cash drawing on the 29th!

      The Hector United Methodist Church is having their Chicken Pie Supper on Wednesday, Sept. 17th starting at 4:30 pm.  Serving Chicken and biscuits, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw and more!  Cost is $9 for adults, $5 for children 5-12, and under 4 is free.  Take outs available.

    1. Pork Chop Dinner
      5:00 pm – 10:30 pm

      The Cedar Mills Lions are having their annual Pork Chop Dinner on Friday, Sept. 19th from 5-7:30 pm.  Cost of the Pork Chop Dinner will be $10 for adults, $4 for children 6 and under, and $3 for an extra chop.  Free Dance from 7:30-10:30 pm featuring Wally Pikal. Proceeds used for Local Projects.

    1. Elks Gun Show
      8:00 am – 5:00 pm

      The Elks are hosting their 33rd annual Gun, Knive, and Coin Show on Saturday and Sunday, Sept 20/21 at the Mcleod County Fairgrounds in Hutchinson.  Buy, Sell, and Trade with over 300 tables at the event.  Admission is $4, under 12 is free with a paid adult.  Food and Beverages are available.  

    2. Foster Parent Orientation
      9:00 am – 3:00 pm

      Mcleod County Social Services is hosting a Foster Parent Orientation for families interested in becoming foster parents on Saturday, Sept. 20th from 9a-3p at the Mcleod County Solid Waste Management Building in Hutchinson.  This meeting is an opportunity to learn about the foster care program and ask questions, to see if being a foster parent may be right for you.  For questions or to register contact Brenda Sandquist at 320-864-1301 or 1-800-247-1756.

    1. St. Matthew’s Fall Festival
      9:45 am – 1:30 pm

      St. Matthew’s of Fernando is having their annual Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept. 21st.  Polka Worship starts the day at 9:45 am, followed by a Hog Roast with all the Trimmings for a free will offering.  Unique Fun Auction will be at 1 pm with something for everyone.  

    2. IC Fall Festival
      11:00 am – 1:30 pm

      The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Watertown is having their Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept. 21st.  A Homestyle Turkey Dinner is served from 11a-1:30p.  Cost is $10 for adults, and $6 for Children 12 and younger.  Take outs are available.  You can shop the Silent Auction or Country Store, take a chance on the raffle, play games, and watch the Vikings in the Beer Tent.

    3. St. John’s Fall Festival
      11:00 am – 3:00 pm

      St. John’s Catholic Church of Darwin is having their Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept. 21st from 11a-3p.  Serving a roast beef dinner from 11a-2 pm.  Adults are $9, Kids 4-10 are $4.  Also during the festival stop by the food stand, money hat, kids games, Raffle, Silent Auction, Bingo, Country Store and more!  The event is at the church’s education center between Dassel and Cokato on Highway 12.

    1. St. John’s Rummage Sale
      8:00 am – 1:00 pm

      St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hollywood is having their Rummage Sale on Thursday-Saturday(Sept. 25-27) at their church along Highway 7.  Hours Thursday and Friday are 8a-6p and Saturday 8a-1p.  Saturday is also fill a bag day for $5.  Food is served.  Proceeds go to the Handicap Fund.
