      Faith Lutheran Church of Hutchinson has their Rummage & Plant Sale on Thurs., April 26, 2-7 pm – Fri., April 27, 8 am-6 pm (Blue Light Specials in afternoon) – Sat., April 28, 8-11 am (Bag Day, 1st bag $3, 2nd bag free). Selling Furniture, clothing, collectibles, household, toys, linens, man cave, misc. Diner open Thurs. & Fri.

      The Brownton Congregational Church is serving Finger Sandwiches, Sweets and Desserts on Saturday, April 28th with a short program to follow. Cost is $6 per person.

    2. May Day Fun
      1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      Kids are invited for some May Day Fun at the Litchfield Opera House on Saturday, April 28th from 1-3 pm. Make and Take your own May Basket for $2 per basket.

    3. Singing Friends
      2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

      The Singing Friends Chorus, a 35-voice community choir presents two concerts this spring:   Saturday, April 28th at 2 pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, and Sunday, April 29th at 2 pm at Church of Peace in Norwood.   The spring concert features a broad sampling of choral music, including classic choral works, sacred and gospel music, and folk and pop songs.  Admission is by free will offering at the door, with a reception to follow.

    4. Weege Family Benefit
      2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

      You’re invited to the Weege Family Benefit on Saturday, April 28th from 2-6 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Howard Lake. Serving Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Cowboy Beans, Cole Slaw and more. Adults are $10, Kids 12 and under are $6. Bid on the silent auction as well! Proceeds go to the Weege Family who are recovering from a Christmas Morning Fire.

      The MN Brain Injury Force is looking for people for their Chance 2 Dance Talent Show on Saturday, April 28th from 6-10 pm in Henderson. Any age and any type of talent is welcome. More info at mnbif.com

      St Paul’s Lutheran Church of Stewart holds their annual Polka Worship and German Dinner on Sunday, April 29th. Worship at 10:30 am featuring the Wendinger Band, Dinner from 11:30a-1p. Cost is $12 for adults, Children 6-11 are $5. On the Menu: German Potato Salad, Brats and Meatballs, Glazed Carrots, Sauerkraut and more!

      The MN Brain Injury Force holds their next meeting on Tuesday, May 1st at Hutchinson Health Hospital Room F at 6 pm. This month’s Topic: Legal Advocate Dalaine Remes talks about protections and advocacy system for people with disabilities in MN.

    4. Smoke Detector Installations

      On May 5th, The American Red Cross will team up with Brownton, Hutchinson, Silver Lake, and Stewart Fire Departments, volunteers, and partners to Sound the Alarm with home fire safety and smoke alarm installation events around the area.       Hunters Ridge Community Church has an authentic Italian Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, May 5th starting at 4:30 pm. Serving Spaghetti, Ceasar Salad, Bread and more! Proceeds send kids to Bible Camp.

      The Brownton Bruins and Glencoe Brewers invite you to the Josh Dietz Memorial Game Benefit on Saturday, May 19th at Barney Tadsen Field in Brownton. Smoked Pork Chop Dinner at 3:30 pm, Baseball Game at 5 pm. There will also be various raffles and baseball bingo. Cost is $10 in advance (includes game admission and Dinner). Proceeds benefit Josh’s kids.

      David Fenley, ADA Director for the MN Council on Disability, will be in Hutchinson on Tuesday, May 22 presenting to business and building owners from Hutchinson and surrounding communities on ADA Accessibility. This programs allows owners to make knowledgeable decisions about changes they may make before construction begins on Main Street in early 2020. David’s presentation will be from 8-9:30 with Q&A following. Along with David, Dr. Brian Bonte, Hutchinson physician and Kyle Dimler, Hutchinson’s City Building Official, will also be available for questions.       The MN Brain Injury Force holds their next meeting on Tuesday, June 5th from 5-8 pm at Culver’s in Hutchinson. It’s a Survivors Meeting to meet, eat, and share stories of hope and courage. A portion of Culver’s sales that night will go to the group.
